Waking up in a new house was a strange thing. At first, I was confused about the lack of light; the darkness having me second-guess my watch's alarm. Then can the brief panic as I shot up in bed, causing Phoenix's arm to fall from my body and jostle him awake. As he jumped to sitting, a low growl erupting in his chest, all of my memory came back to me and I sighed away the fear.

"Sorry, I forgot where I was." I murmured.

His eyes flickered back to soft hazel, a small laugh of exasperation filling the room.

"It's okay." He smiled softly, moving to kiss my nose. "Good morning."

I shivered at the sound of his deeper voice. "Merry Christmas."

He groaned, rolling over, so he was on top of me. His hands fell to the side of my head, playing with my hair and running his fingers over my cheeks. I grinned up at him, my sleepiness fading as I remembered what day it was.

"So, my love, what is on the itinerary for today?" He chirped.

I giggled, pushing him from my body so I could sit up. I was damp between the thighs, sticky from where we forgot to clean up last night. Grimacing, I glared down at my lap with a wrinkled nose.

"We are showering."

He smiled sheepishly before agreeing and getting up to go to the bathroom. My first shower in the new house! Too exciting.

Squealing, I ran my way behind him, careful not to bump into his broad back when I entered the room. He was just setting the towels on the side, closing the cupboard door, when I approached. Sidestepping him, I ran into the shower and fiddled with the dials until the shower was just right. Now I was in here up close. I could see just how perfect it all was.

Above me was a huge, and I mean huge, shower head. It must've been about three feet long. Turning it on resulted in a huge downfall of water, much like a waterfall. The shower cubicle itself was wide enough for four Phoenix's, with some random jets along the tiled part of the wall that I had way too many questions to think about.

The tiles were all white, but the ones in the shower had small specks of gold like marble running through them. There was a bench shelf against the end wall, a smaller shower head above that which was controlled separately.

My attention darted to Phoenix as he entered, his gigantic form ricocheting the water in all directions. He smirked at me, pulling me under the current of the large shower head so that I would start to get washed. The water wasn't too soft or too hard, massaging my skin just right as I ran the shampoo through my hair. Phoenix had tried to pamper me and massage my scalp, but I knew where that would lead and I was far too excited about Christmas morning to even think about doing that again.

I had to let him wash the soap from my body, however, otherwise he would've given me the worst, most painful puppy eyed glare all morning. Ares, his wolf, took pride in grooming me, so I figured I would allow him the minor feat. As soon as he got too cocky, I took the loofah and wiped my own ass. Celimene was bristling, enjoying the light touches and care that he gave us.

He snickered, rinsing his body from the soap before walking out of the shower. I copied his actions. Taking the towel from his outstretched hand, I wrapped around my body and walked over to the vanity. The mirror was fog free, and I stared at my reflection for a moment, watching Phoenix dry himself from the corner of my eye.

Shaking my head, I washed my face and applied some moisturiser. I wore some light makeup, and hope that it would last me a good part of the day. I was fifty percent sure I may cry again later, so I chose a waterproof mascara just in case.

Taking the towel from my body, I dried my hair the best I can as Phoenix left the room. I took it as my moment to relieve myself on the toiler, before brushing my teeth and tongue. I had a foul taste in my mouth and blamed it on the tears I shed last night.

Finding my way into the wardrobe, Phoenix was already getting dressed in comfortable clothes. Today the office would be 'shut', meaning no work calls or paperwork were to be seen or thought of all day. I hoped it would stay that way, and that no one came demanding work.

Dressed in a hoodie and leggings, I jumped into Phoenix's arms as soon as he turned around to face me. He grunted as I collided with his chest, catching me without even stumbling. Hands roamed my body, my legs hooked around his waist as he carried me out of the bedroom. Walking up the stairs, Phoenix's cheek pressed into mine.

The warmth of the morning sun hit my back as Phoenix carried me to the kitchen. Sitting me down on the kitchen island, I watched him as he cooked breakfast. The house was quiet apart from the spitting of the frying pan and the occasional hum from Phoenix's chest. My heart blossomed as he provided for me. It was Phoenix's way of showing affection, and I appreciated his efforts.

Settling down with a bacon sandwich, Phoenix kissed my temple before handing me a strawberry milkshake. He had already stocked the fridge, and I eyed it with a wide grin as he shut it behind him.

Sighing aloud, he sat beside me. "So, first time cooking in the new kitchen. How'd I do?"

I smacked my lips together. "Perfect. As always."

He snorted, sipping his coffee. "Thank you."

Silence encased us as we both tucked into our food. I finished first, turning to face him as he ate some eggs. I avoided looking at them. The thought of the slimy gooeyness wasn't doing it for me today.

"It's crazy to think that soon we won't be alone in here."

He grinned, licking his lips. "That's the whole idea. Soon there will be multiple little feet driving us crazy."

Celimene bristled, a rumble of hungry satisfaction making itself known. She liked the idea of him wanting many babies.

"Multiple?" I quirked an eyebrow. "You say that like I am having more than twins?"

"Maybe one day." He shrugged. "A whole little tribe."

I laughed, shaking my head. "Okay, and are you the one who is going to push them out?"

He rolled his eyes, wiping his fingers and face with a napkin before leaning back in his chair. He eyed me up, crossing his arms along his chest.

"Are you doubting my ability to take away your pain?"

Cocking my head, I fell into a bout of confusion. "What?"

"You won't feel a thing." He shook his head.

"Phoenix, I have to push not one, but two, ten centimetres by fifty-centimetre aliens." I scowled. "It's going to hurt."

"I will make sure we look after you!" He laughed. "Drugs, blood, you name it, you got it, babe."

"I want to avoid the drug route; Kate says it can make you drowsy and make it longer to give birth."

'Sounds great.' Cel snorted, coming to attention.

You get out of this fine. I chasisted causing her to grumble.

"But at least it will be pain free." He pointed out. "And then it will be over and a year later, we will do it all over again."

I couldn't help but laugh at him, and his lips broke out into a huge grin. Climbing across my chair, I sat in his lap. His hands wrapped around my back, peppering my face with kisses.

We will talk about the birth plan later on.

"That sounds like a lot like no sleep." I murmured.

He chuckles softly, kissing me once more on the lips. "I will never pressure you. Whatever we end up with, I will be happy because I have you forever."

I cooed at him, kissing him back. His hands roamed my body, pulling me closer to him so our cores rubbed together.

"Phoenix..." I gasped as his length grew beneath me.

He growled into my mouth, nipping at my lower lip and grinding up into me. "Do you want me to stop?"

His mouth slid from mine, heavy breaths against my skin. I whimpered, grinding myself along his hardening length.

"Well..." I breathed. "The kitchen could do with a little... breaking in too."

A grin the size of the Grand Canyon tore at his face before his mouth descended on mine. Our hands grabbed at each other, and all thoughts of having to shower again left my mind as a lust filled haze clouded my senses. I tugged at the waistband of his sweatpants as his hands dragged my leggings and underpants from my legs.

I gave him no time to react before I was climbing back on him, pulling down his boxers, sinking myself onto his length before he could stand up. Cursing, his head fell back, eyes closing as I sank myself down. I moaned loudly, shuddering as my hands gripped at his shoulders.

"Fuck, Nova." He cursed.

Our bodies collided, hot and needy, as I took control. His knees banged against the countertop, my ankles wrapping around his knees as his hands guided my ass along him. Our lips collided, needy mewls escaping my throat as we searched for our highs. When it finally came, my head fell upon his shoulder as my body quivered over him.

Breathing heavily, he kissed my head. "If that was my Christmas present, then I am more than happy."

I laughed softly, pulling away to kiss him quickly. "Your present is under the Christmas tree."

He grinned before helping me climb from his lap. Setting me on the ground, I grimaced as wetness pooled down my legs.

"I'm going to go shower again." I laughed.

"Don't, don't shower." He breathed, getting dressed again.

I gave him a bewildered look. "I am sticky."

"I love it when you smell of me." He growled playfully. "I love smelling me all over you, so people know you are mine."

"I think they already know that." I laughed, tapping his arm playfully.

After a minute of counterarguments, we compromised, and I did not have a full body shower, but I did clean my nether regions with soapy water. He sniffed me afterwards and made a show of having me turn around. Falling into his arms, I laughed at his antics.

"I am literally pregnant with your pups. I think I smell enough."

He shrugged, a small grin on his face as he carried me back upstairs.

Upstairs. Weird.

Sliding my shoes onto my feet, I spun around to glare at him when I caught sight of the time.

"It is ten o'clock!"

"And?" He wondered. "We have no work to do."

"There may not be pack work to do, but there is kitchen prep to do!"

He shook his head, gliding over to grab my hips. "I already planned this. Two volunteers happily devoted their morning to prepare the meat. It is just the vegetables left to be cooked."

I breathed a sigh of relief. "They volunteered?"

He nodded. "Yes. Happily. A lot of pack members feel lonely this time of year. I suppose it is a good distraction."

"That's... sad." I frowned.

"You are changing all that, Nova. Before this year, Christmas was a time of bedlam." He mumbled. "You are making this pack a home for so many of us."

I hummed. "It wasn't my intention."

"But you are." He smiled before suddenly picking me up.

I was about to protest, but he ushered us out of the house and the cold air made me curl into him.

"Now, let's come on. I know you are itching to celebrate." He grinned.

I laughed, my heart so warm and full. This was the best gift I ever received, and I was not even talking about the house growing smaller in the distance. Resting my head upon his chest, I breathed in a sigh of content.
