Warm summer sun shown down on Fairy Tail High. The heat made a salmon haired teen sigh at the feeling. "Summers almost here!" He cheered and looked to his side where his friends walked. A blonde smiled and nodded along with a scarlet haired girl.

"Sure is nice!" The blonde hummed and stretched up. "Hey lets go to the beach when school lets out!"

"Good Idea Lucy." Erza smiled at her. "Lets do it. It will be good to also exercise Plue while we're at it."

"Ho yeah! I'm fired up now!" Natsu grinned widely.

"You're too loud in the morning!" Natsu gulped and fired a glare at a ravenette. "Natsu you really need to calm down. It's too early for your loud ass!"

"Shuddup Gray!" Natsu fired back. "You shouldn't be so grumpy in the morning!" 

Within moments the two started arguing, causing the girls to laugh. "Just make out already." Lucy joked and Natsu glared at her in embarrassment. Gray growled and pushed past them, lightly pushing Lucy so she would stumble. "Hey!" She hissed.

"You okay Lucy?" Erza asked and helped her brush off her clothes.

Natsu stared after grey with blank eyes. He sighed. He wasn't mad at Lucy for insinuating he was gay, because he was and she knew that. He was upset that she dropped a hint about his Crush on Gray. Everyone assumed he and Lucy would date, but he saw Lucy as a sister and best friend, and she felt the same way about him so there was no problems.

Natsu snapped out of it when Lucy patted his back. "Sorry Natsu. I didn't mean anything by it." He she said softly. 

"Yeah, I know Luce." Natsu sighed and smiled at her. "Lets go! The bell will ring soon!" He said and ran towards the school with the girls a few steps behind. 

For the rest of the day Gray was nowhere to be seen. This wasn't that much of a surprise since unlike Natsu, he wasn't a nerd and didn't put everything into his classes. Still Natsu couldn't help thinking about him. What did he like about Gray? Probably, the way just looking at him made his heart hurt. Or the fact that he didn't have to start all of his stories at the beginning. Natsu felt his face heat up while he thought about Gray. He groaned and hid his face in his arms. 

"Oi! Natsu don't ignore me!" Natsu felt a ruler smack the back of his head. He flinched and looked up with a glare.

"That hurt Gildarts!" He yelled and growled softly.

"Then don't sleep in my class!" Gildarts scolded and went back to teaching whatever the drunkard taught. The class giggled at the exchange and went back to work.

Finally the bell rang, meaning Natsu's favorite class, besides chemistry. He stretched up and exhaled deeply. "Yo Luce!" He looked over to the blonde, who glanced up from putting away her notes. "Lets eat outside today, since its so warm."

"Sorry Natsu, Erza asked me to help with some student council stuff." Lucy smiled guiltily.

""Oh, It's fine, me and the stripper will just eat." Natsu shrugged, a bit happy that he could potentially have a lunch date with Gray. Does he sound like Juvia? Well whatever, he was happy! Natsu walked over to Gray's normal place where he often ditched. As he thought the, currently, half naked teen was behind the school. "Gray!" Natsu grinned and sat next to him. "Lets eat together."

"Natsu..." He sighed and stood up. "Stay away from me Natsu. I don't need Homo rumors going around about me!" Gray growled with a feeling that Natsu couldn't recognize in his dark eyes.

Natsu felt pain erupt in his chest. "What..Do you mean?" Natsu asked.

"You heard what Lucy said." Gray growled. "I don't need those kind of rumors right now."

"She was joking Gray!" Natsu yelled, he felt his eyes burn. "You're going to stop being my friend because of a joke? Or a rumor?"

"Just leave me alone." With that Gray walked away.

Natsu watched him leave.  His throat and eyes burned as he fought back tears.  This didn't make sense, and it hurt.  Natsu bit his lip and went home so he didn't cry in public.

-Time Skip: 1 Week-

Natsu sighed.  Gray wasn't talking to him, wouldn't look at him, wouldn't even fight with him. At this point, Natsu would even take Gray yelling him, arguing with him. It didn't have to be a romantic relationship, a friendship, being by him was enough. He just wanted to be by him, to talk to him. Anything. Before he could cry he opened his locker. On a pair of books was a roughly crumpled up piece of paper. Natsu grabbed the paper and opened it. 

"Natsu, get your butt out behind the school. We need to talk flame brain. -Gray"

Natsu's oxyn eyes winded and he shut his locker. He ran out of the school and headed behind it to wait. After a few moments Gray came running like Sonic towards Natsu. 

"Are you okay?!" He asked in a hurried up voice, looking him over. "Lucy told me you were getting beaten up!"

"Like head I would get beaten up idiot!" Natsu fired back.

"Don't call me a idiot moron!" Gray glared.

Natsu cracked a smile and started laughing. He grabbed Gray and hugged him, his head falling under his chest as he laughed. "I hate you...so much that I love you." Natsu whispered into his skin.  His laughing turned into a crying laugh while Gray stared down at the pinkette. "I can handle you hating me, and I'll leave you alone but for right now I just want to hug you."

"I don't hate you." Gray said and wrapped his hand around Natsu. "I love you, alot, but I thought you liked Lucy so...I just wanted to distance us so when you got together I could support it."

"Lucy is like a sister, and she knows about my liking you." Natsu mumbled into his chest. "This whole thing made me cry for a week," Latsu looked up at Gray. "You better make it up to me."

"Idiot." Gray said and leaned his head down. He trapped Natsu's lips in a soft kiss, and closed his eyes while Natsu kissed back.

-Meanwhile: On the Schools Roof-

"Finally." Lucy hummed and leaned against the fence the protected the people on the roof.

"Did you do this, because you felt guilty?" Erza asked in front of her, her arms crossed.

"I wonder." Lucy smiled and looked up at the sky. Erza smiled a bit and leaned down.  After a soft peck on the lips Lucy stood up straight and stretched out her arms. "So warm, I can't wait for the beach." She smiled and Erza nodded before grabbing her hand.
