This isn't real is it?

"Gary, is this a dream?" I asked.

Gary then rolled up the magazine that was on the table and whacked me in the back of the head.

"Holy crap, this IS real!" I said.

Gary looked at me with suspicion.

"There is no way you passed! Dude, be straight with me, did you cheat?" Gary said narrowing his eyes.

"N-no! I just did what you did!" I said in my defense.

"Mhm." He said.

"I'm serious!" I said.

All of a sudden I heard the front door shut.

"Ash, I'm home!" My mom said.

She had gone to the store.

"Oh hey Gary. What are you two doing?" She said.

"Hey Ms. K, Ashy-boy why don't you drop the news." Gary said.

"Hm, news? What news?" She asked.

She turned to me, and saw the letter I was holding, and once she saw the seal she dropped the bag of groceries she was carrying. I saw tears of joy well up in her eyes.

"I-is it true Ash, d-did you actually pass the exam?" Mom asked.

I nodded slowly. Then mom wrapped me up in the biggest bear hug of my life.

"Oh Ash I'm so proud of you!! I always knew you had it in you!" She said.

"Uhh yeah..." I said, laughing awkwardly.

I glance over at Gary, who looked as if he was about to burst out laughing.

So I glared at him and shook my head as if to say, "Don't even think about it."

Mom finally let me go and stopped crying.

"Let me see that for minute." She said as she jerked the test and envelope out of my hands.

Her face lit up as she read the results.

"So Ashy-boy, you are going to go right?" Gary asked.

I paused for a moment. I hadn't even considered that. I'm still in shock for crying out loud. Should I go? I mean sure it was a fluke, but I still managed to pass it somehow.

"Uuh, I don't really-" I started to say.

"Of course you're going!!" My mom said.

It just occurred to me that we never actually told her why we took this exam in first place. And I can't just tell her I guessed on all of the answers. I have to find some way out of this.

"A-are you sure it's okay? I mean, Kalos is whole other country and and I'm sure the costs of tuition and travel would be a bit to much to handle." I said, hoping that would change her mind.

"Ash, did you even read this pamphlet?" She said surprised.

"Uhhh.....no?" I said

"Here take a look." She said, handing me the pamphlet.

It had had pictures of the campus, the staff, and some alumni. Then I turned to the final page.

"HUUUUUH!?" I yelled.

"What does it say Ashy-boy?" Gary asked, looking over my shoulder at what I was reading.

"WHAT, IT'S ALL COVERED!?" Gary said.

How in the world could a school that fancy be free of charge!?

"So you see Ash, you have no reason not to go!" My mom said exitedly.

I thought about it for a second.

"You know what, why not. If it's free, then what do I have to lose. Plus, it would be a great experience." I said.

"Then it's settled, I will get on the phone with the school chairman and get you enrolled." Mom said.

"Yaaay, I can't wait..." I said with just barely enough enthusiasm to not sound sarcastic.

"Well, I guess I'll be heading out now." Gary said.

I decided to walk outside too. Gary stops and turns back.

"Well Ashy-boy, try not to get destroyed too bad by those brat rich kids." He said.

I chuckled.

"Thanks Gary, I'm going to need all of the help I can get." I said.

We said our goodbyes, and I walked back up to my room and plopped down on my bed.

"Aw man, what have I gone and gotten myself into?" I mumbled.

I looked over at my laptop.

'Hmm, maybe I should go ahead and check out the school's website. It gave me s login code in my pamphlet.' I thought to myself.

So I got up, opened my laptop, and went to the site. It had a lot of the same pictures that the pamphlet had, but one in particular caught my eye.

It said, "We at the Kalos National Academy are honored to announce that her highness, Princess Serena Yvonne, will be attending our fine institution! Please treat her highness with the utmost respect."

'Wow, I'm going to be classmates with a princess, that's crazy!' I thought.

Now I'm getting a little exited about this.

'I wonder what she looks like...' I thought as I kept scrolling.

I stopped when I saw a picture of the Chairwoman. She was standing there with the Queen, Grace Yvonne and next to her was.....wow. That had to be her! She was so beautiful, she had long honey blonde hair, ocean blue eyes, and a smile that could melt the ice caps. And best of all, she looked like she was my age!

I sighed.

'Who are you kidding Ash, she's a princess for goodness sake. There's no way she would notice a commoner like you.' I thought as I mentality kicked myself for getting my hopes up.

I kept looking around on the website, until I noticed a certain tab. It was a freshman chat room. This might be a good chance to make a friend or two

before I even get there, that would make things sooo much easier.

'Hmmm, I wonder if anyone is online...' I thought.

I enter the chat room and it asks me to pick a user name. I just went with

"palletboy14".

(Chat room)

palletboy14: Hey is anyone on?

Scarlet13: I am, hello there palletboy :)

palletboy14: Hey Scarlet, how's it going?

Scarlet13: I'm doing quite well, thank you for asking :). Are you excited to finally be in high school?

palletboy14: Yeah, though I'm pretty nervous about it. Especially since this school is so prestigious. How about you?

Scarlet13: To be honest, I'm nervous as well. I have been home schooled my whole life, so this is all so new to me.

palletboy14: Oh I gotcha, I'm sure everything will be fine :).

Scarlet13: Thank you, you are very kind :).

palletboy14: You're welcome :). Say, did you hear that Princess Serena is going to be in our class? I wonder what she's like...

Scarlet13: Oh yeah, of course I heard about that, who hasn't lol. I hear she is very easy going, kind, and smart!

palletboy14: Oh really, have you met her or something?

Scarlet13: Oh uhh, yes! She and I have known each other for a long time!

palletboy14: That's so cool! I hope I get a chance to meet her too!

Scarlet13: I'm sure you will soon enough :). I'm so sorry but I have to go. I have an appointment to get hair cut. Bye bye, and I hope you have a great year!

palletboy14: Oh okay, it was great talking to you!

I closed my laptop.

'Well, she seemed nice. Oh no, I totally forgot to ask for her name, or introduce myself for that matter.' I thought to myself.

'Oh well, I'm sure I'll talk to her again.' I though.

A few weeks pass and before I know it, the time for my departure finally arrives. I said goodbye to my friends, finished packing, we headed out.

Mom and I were on our way to the airport in Viridian City.

"Ash are you sure you packed everything you need?" My mom said for, like, the 12th time since we left.

"Uhhg, yes mom." I said a little frustrated.

"I'm just making sure, you can never be too careful after all." She said.

We pulled up to the airport and we walked in. There was still a good 30 minutes before I had to board the plane, so I grabbed a cinnamon roll.

(A/N: Speaking of which, the Denver airport has the best Cinnamon rolls on the planet, seriously they are freaking awesome.) We walk a little bit farther to the flight gate, and there was no one else there.

'Looks like it's just me.' I thought.

I turned my head to look out the window, and my jaw dropped to the floor.

"No way, a private jet!? I said.

"My, now that is leisure! Oh I wish I could join you!" My mom said, wishing she were in my shoes.

I chuckled a bit. Then someone walked up to me.

"Hello, are you Mr. Ketchum?" Asked a man who was probably in his late 40's.

"Oh, y-yes sir." I said nervously.

"My name's Jake Bragg, and I'm your captain. I just wanted you to know that you can go ahead and board if you want." He said.

"Oh thank you sir. Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else supposed to be on this flight?" I asked.

"Nope, you're the only one." He said.

"Oh, uh thank you." I said.

However my in my mind I said something completely different.

'AWWWW YEEEEEAAAHHH!!!! This is gonna be so awesome!' I thought.

I heard my mom sniffle, and when I turned around she was crying. I walked up to her and hugged her tightly.

"Well mom, I guess this is it. Will you be alright without me around?" I said.

"I'll be fine sweety, just be sure you call me at least once every other day." She said smiling.

"Will do mom, I'll be back for Christmas. Love ya!" I said

"Love you too, son. Now, you'd best be going." She said as we break the hug.

"Right, bye mom, thanks for everything!" I said waving goodbye.

I started to board the plane.

"Bye son, and make sure you change your underwear everyday!!" She yelled.

"S-SHUT UP MOM, PLEASE!" I yelled, my face red as a tomato.

I hate it when she does that!

I boarded the plane and that exitement I felt earlier, just multiplied by about 15. It was so awesome! It had literally everything a kid my age could want. A fridge stocked with snacks and drinks that I haven't even heard of, a 50" curved tv, every game system on the market, and best of all I get to enjoy it all myself! This has got to be heaven. Captain Bragg must have noticed the dumbstruck look on my face because I heard him laugh a little.

"I take it this is a first for you isn't it." He said.

"Uh, yeah, I mean yes sir!" I said.

"Well, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy it once we get into the air. I'm going to have to ask you to take a seat and get strapped in, we'llbe taking off soon." He said.

"Yes sir, will do." I said.

So I took a seat in one of the chairs, which by the way was without a doubt the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in, ever! It was so comfortable in fact that I soon found myself drifting off to sleep.

(4 hours later)

"Hey, hey kid wake up." Said Captain Bragg.

"Unng, what? Oh, hey Captain Bragg, how long was I out?" I asked groggily.

"Almost the whole flight, we're descending now." He said with a chuckle.

"Whaaat!?" I said a little surprised.

Aw man, I really wanted to enjoy this flight. Oh well, I guess I needed the rest. And besides it's not like this is a one time thing. I looked out the window, and saw what looked like a city.

"Captain Bragg, what city are we flying into?" I asked.

"You mean you don't know? That's the academy." He said.

"No way, it's huge!" I said.

"Indeed, it dwarfs most of the worlds major cities. I'm sure the faculty will explain it all at the opening ceremonies tomorrow." He said.

I turned back to the window.

'This is going to be so freaking sweet!' I thought.

A few minutes later, we landed. I walked out of the terminal and immediately saw a man in a suit holding a sign with my name on it. I walk over to him.

"Are you Mr. Ketchum?" He asks.

"Y-yeah, that's me." I said awkwardly.

"Ah wonderful, right this way please, your limousine is waiting." He said.

Wait, A LIMO!?

"Um sure, thanks. Where are we headed?" I said.

"To the dormitories of course, we can't just have our first year enrollees wondering aimlessly across the city, now can we?" He said.

"I guess not." I said with a chuckle.

'First a private jet and now a limo!? What's next my own chocolate factory?' I thought to myself.

I was so deep in thought that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going.

The next thing I knew, I bumped into someone.

"Kyaa!!" Said a girl about my age.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay? I am so sorry, here let me help you up!" I said offering my hand.

"O-oh don't worry, I'm fine. Thank you..." She said timidly as she took my hand.

I pulled her up off of the ground. She was wearing a red hoodie with the hood over her head, brown caprice, and a pair of dark sun shades.

"Please forgive me for that." I said bowing slightly.

"N-no really it's fine, hey do you know which way the dorms are? I went for a stroll and lost my way." She asked.

"No sorry I'm afraid I just got here, so I can't say that I do. I'm sorry." I said.

"Oh I understand, thank you..." She said as she started to walk away.

I could tell that she was a little frazzled by all of this, but my gosh who wouldn't be. Then a light bulb went off in my head.

"Um hold on a second miss!" I said.

She turned around.

"Hm?" She said.

"I'm actually about to take a ride to the dorms, you're more than welcome to join me." I said smiling.

Her face lit up after hearing that.

"Oh thank you so much! You're a life saver!" She said with a beaming smile.

A smile that looked very familiar in fact. Nah, there's no way it's her, her hair's way to short.

"No problem, my name is Ash by the way." I said extending my hand.

"A pleasure to meet you Ash, my name is...Sera." She said with a suspicious pause, but I over looked it.

"The pleasure is mine Sera, what do you say we get going?" I said motioning toward the limo.

"I say that is a wonderful idea." She said with a giggle.

We start walking towards the limo.

'She seems nice, I wonder if we will have any classes together.' I thought to myself.

The driver opened the door for us, and I let Sera in first.

'Atta boy Ash.' I thought, feeling pretty cool.

After I get in we start heading to the dorms.

"So Sera, where are you from?" I asked.

"Oh I'm Kalosian, born and raised. What about you Ash?" She said.

"Oh nice, I'm from Kanto." I said.

"Oh cool! I've always wanted to visit Kanto! If I might ask, why did you pick a school all the way in Kalos?" She said.

Crap, what on earth do I tell her.

"Uhh, it's a long story." I said scratching the back of my head.

'Oh man, I'm so busted if someone finds out about what I did in the exam.' I thought to myself.

"Oh hey, we're here!" Sera said.

I looked out the window at the massive dormitorie building. It was beautifully built, it was white and was Victorian in design. The driver opened the door for us.

"Here we are, the freshman dormitories. I hope you enjoy your stay here in our lovely academy and have a great year!" The driver said before getting back in the limo and driving away.

Sera and I waved goodbye to him.

"Thanks again for this Ash! I wish I could stay and chat, but I have to go finish unpacking." She said.

"You're very welcome, see you around!" I said.

Sera went inside, and I just stood there in awe of this whole thing.

I never expected all of this!

"Excuse me, sir? Are you a student?" Said a young woman with short blonde hair, she looked about 19 or so.

"Oh sorry, yeah I'm Ashton Ketchum, a freshman." I said.

"Well then you have come to the right place Mr. Ketchum. My name is Bianca, please follow me." She said.

So I followed Bianca to the front desk of the dorms. Which looked even more fancy than the outside.

"Alrighty Mr. Ketchum, we have you registered in the system, here is your room key. Your room number is 340, and it's on the third floor! Your roommate just came through not long ago, so be sure to knock before you enter." She said in a bubbly tone.

"Thank you Bianca." I said.

'Roommate huh, I wonder what he's like.' I thought.

I took the elevator to the third floor, and found my room with relative ease.

"Okay, hmmm 340, ah-ha! Here it is." I said.

I knocked on the door.

"Hello, is anyone there? This is Ash Ketchum, your new roommate." I said.

No response.

"I'm coming in." I said as I opened the door.

I walk into the room. It's actually pretty big, it had two full sized beds, two sets of drawers, two desks with lamps, two small closets, and a bathroom. I looked over to the bed on the right and saw it had a suitcase under it.

'Okay, so I guess this one is mine.' I thought as I pointed to the bed on the left.

I started to unpack, then after a few I hear the bathroom door open, and hear a familiar voice call my name.

"Ash!? What are you doing in here!?"

It was Sera!

I started to turn around.

"Sera!? Uh this is my room, I had no id-" I froze.

She was so beautiful, she had on her pajamas, and I could smell her strawberry shampoo from here. But what caught my attention, where her eyes. Those beautiful ocean blue eyes. I knew I recognized that smile!

"S-Sera, could it be that y-you're..." I said.

She sighed.

"I guess you caught me. Yes I am.

I am Princess Serena Yvonne."
