(Ash's pov)

I woke up earlier than usual this morning, probably because our study session last night tired me out and I ended up falling asleep early. I look over and see that Serena was still asleep. I was going to wake her up, but I looked at my clock and she still had some time to sleep. Besides, she looked so peaceful.

'Get some rest Serena.' I thought.

Seeing as though I missed my shower last night, I decided to take a quick one this morning. I got up to get my clothes, but with my dumb luck, I accidentally kicked the side of the bed and stubbed my toe.

"Ouch!! Geez that hurt." I said rubbing my injured toes.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Serena sitting up in bed rubbing her eyes and yawning.

'Smooth move me, way to keep quiet.' I thought, mentally kicking myself.

Serena turned and looked at me groggily.

(Serena's pov)

I had woken up to a loud thud, and judging by the way Ash was standing there he likely stubbed his toe. I hate it when that happens!

"Morning Ash, are you okay?" I asked sleepily.

"Good morning Serena, yeah I'm alright, it's nothing major. Sorry for waking you up." Ash replied.

I shook my head.

"No don't worry about it, I needed to get up anyway. What were you doing anyway?" I said.

"I was just grabbing some clothes so I can take a shower, seeing as though I fell asleep before I could last night." Ash said.

When he said that I started to blush, I remembered how I had kissed him the night before. It was still a bit dark in the room, so thankfully he didn't notice me blushing, but he did notice I was a little bothered.

"Is there something the matter?" Ash asked.

"N-no not at all!" I said embarrassed.

Ash just kinda went with it.

"Okay, if you say so. I'm gonna flip on the lamp so I don't bust my other foot." Ash said as he turned on his lamp.

My eyes weren't quite adjusted yet so I squinted when he did. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I noticed something on Ash's face. Was that...oh no! There was still some lipstick on his forehead!

"Well, I'm gonna go ahead and-" Ash started to say before I cut him off.

"WAIITTT!!!" I yelled.

This caught Ash completely off guard.

"What is it Serena!?" Ash asked shocked at my tone.

I paused for a moment. I couldn't just tell him he had lipstick on his face. What do I do!?

"You're acting really odd this morning, are you feeling okay?" Ash asked, incredibly confused.

"U-um, it's just...it's your face!" I blurted out.

Ash just stood there, looking more and more confused by the second.

"Uhhh, what's wrong with my face?" Ash asked.

'Dang it Serena, think! He's gonna think you're a nutcase if you keep this up...oh I know!' I thought to myself.

"You have a splotch of chilli on your face!" I said, hoping Ash would buy it.

"Wait, really?" Ash asked.

Success!

Ash wiped his mouth with his shirt's collar.

"Are you sure? I don't see any." Ash said.

"It's uhh, on your forehead..." I said, mentally kicking myself for how unbelievably stupid that sounded.

"Oh....I guess I can be a pretty messy eater, huh." Ash said chuckling.

I can't believe he fell for that. Ash then began to reach up to his forehead.

"Wait I'll get it for you!" I blurted out again.

"Uhh, no don't worry, I got it." Ash said.

He was about to touch his forehead when I quickly grabbed a tissue from the box on my desk and quickly wiped the lipstick away. Ash just stood there in bewilderment. I tossed the tissue into the trash.

"There, got it." I said happily.

"Oh....thanks..." Ash said with a look that would give the impression that his brain was about to explode from the confusion.

"I think I'm going to hop in the shower now..." He said awkwardly.

"Oh, alright, see you in a bit." I said.

Ash turned and walked into the bathroom slowly. Once he shut the door I let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Geez, that was close. I hope he doesn't think I've gone off the deep end." I mumbled.

I plopped down on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"I can tell this is gonna be one of those days."
