(Ash's pov)

It was such a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and flowers bloomed as far as the eye could see. It was just the two of us, Serena and I, out on a nice picnic.

"Hey Sere, wait for me!" I called.

"Hehe, come on slow poke." Serena said as she ran ahead.

I had no idea where we were going. Serena said it was a surprise, so I happily went with it. Though I must say, we've been running for quite some time now and I was being to get a little tired.

"How much further is it." I asked, stopping for a second to catch my breath.

Serena stopped and turned around.

"Don't worry, we're almost there. Just hang in there for a few more minutes, k?" Said Serena with a wink.

"Yes ma'am." I replied playfully.

We continued on for about 5 more minutes until something appeared in the distance. It was a tree on top of a hill, and not just any tree, it was a huge cherry tree!

"There it is, race ya Ashy!" Serena exclaimed, picking up her pace.

"H-hey wait a minute, that's not fair!" I replied.

The two of us raced our way to the tree. Serena touched the trunk and threw her hands in the air.

"Victory!" She said proudly.

I finally made it to the top of the hill, and when I did I flopped down on my back.

"Geez Serena, I never knew you could run that fast." I said out of breath from the run.

Serena placed her hands on her hips.

"And I never knew you were so out of shape. Looks like you need to work out more Ashy." Serena said jokingly.

I sighed.

"Yeah you're probably right. But can we eat first?" I asked.

Serena playfully rolled her eyes.

"Fine, let's get everything set up." She said.

We laid out a black and red checkered table cloth on the ground and started to dig in. The food we packed wasn't anything special, just some sandwiches and lemonade. Though some might see it as a bit lackluster, we thought it was perfect. We happily ate our fill and simply enjoyed each other's company.

After we finished eating, the two of us sat there together, our backs against the trunk of the tree.

"I know it took a while to get here, but I think it was totally worth it. Don't you think so Ashy?" Said Serena as she rested her haid on my shoulder.

"Yeah, it was definitely worth it." I replied.

"Hey Ashy..." Said Serena.

"Hm?" I replied.

"I love you." Said Serena.

"I love you too, Sere." I replied.

Everything was so peaceful that I soon found myself drifting off to sleep...

.

.

".....Ash..." Said Serena.

"Hmm...Serena?" I replied sleepily.

"Ashy, it's time to wake up." Serena said.

"Uggg, five more minutes." I said, rolling over.

"Ash seriously wake up." Said Serena, shaking me.

"But Sereenaaa-" I started to say.

"You don't want me to go get my brother, do you?" Serena asked with a sly grin.

My eyes immediately shot open and I sat right up and saluted.

"Ash Ketchum reporting for duty your highness!" I quickly said.

Serena giggled.

"Good morning to you too Ashy." She said.

"Y-yeah, good morning Sere." I replied with a chuckle.

I paused for a second. Something's not right here. I looked around, feeling very confused. Serena noticed this.

"Uhh, are you feeling okay?" She asked.

"....Wait a sec...when did I get back here? What happened to the cherry tree?" I asked.

Serena looked at me like I justclaimed to have seen bigfoot or something.

"A...cherry tree? Ash, did you hit your head after you left my room last night?" Asked Serena, who began to inspect me for injuries.

"No of course not, I'm fine really. I guess it must have been a dream." I said, feeling incredibly stupid.

Serena cocked her head, she looks so cute when she does that.

"A dream, what kind of a dream was it?" She asked.

I told Serena everything that happened in my dream. Once I finished my story, she blushed and smiled brightly.

"Aww, Ashy that's sounds so romantic!" Said Serena, nearly squealing.

I blushed and scratched my cheek.

"Y-yeah I guess so." I replied bashful like.

Serena leaned over and gave me a peck on the cheek. Then she started walking out the door.

"I'll go ahead and give you a few minutes to get ready. Try not to take too long though, we wouldn't want to be late." Serena said.

"Wait, late for what?" I asked.

"School silly, what did you think I meant?" Serena asked with a giggle.

"HUUUH!?"
