Hey y'all, I'm soooo sorry for my extreme tardiness. My schedule is utterly unpredictable and I often times don't even have the time to read stories on here, much less write them. On top of that, I REALLY did not like what I did with the last chapter. It was super rushed and felt sloppy.
And because of that, I've been trying to make this chapter extra good, but nothing is sounding right.

Oh and before I forget, THANKS FOR 10,000 VIEWS!!!!

We'll be back to 60,000 before you know it!

Anyway, enough dawdling, on with the story.

A quick warning though, this chapter gets pretty dark towards the end.

I hope you enjoy!

*Sorry for any grammatical errors that you wi-...er, might encounter.

(Ash's pov)

After a much-needed talk, Serena and I began to make our way back into her room. As we were about to open the door, I heard Serena let out a nervous sigh.

I placed my hand on Serena's shoulder.

"You gonna be okay? You know, we can always turn her over to the guards." I said.

Serena shook her head and placed a hand on mine.

"Don't worry Ash, I'll be fine. Besides, this was our mistake, therefore it's our responsibility to fix it." Serena replied.

I smiled and nodded in agreement.

And with that, we headed inside. The two of us walked over to the sofa. Dawn, much to our surprise, was still out cold even after all of the yelling.

I started to wake her up, when Serena stopped me.

"Wait just a second!" Serena whispered.

"What's the matter?" I asked, slightly confused.

"Come here for a sec, I have an idea." Serena said as she motioned for me to come closer.

I was still confused, but obliged.

Serena whispered her plan into my ear, and oh boy, what a plan it was.

Serena and I glanced at one another, smirked a mischievous smile and nodded. We were gonna have a little fun with our interrogation.

Think of a good cop/bad cop scenario, but make it bad cop/worse cop. I'm sure you can already image who's playing which part.

We then turned our attention back to Dawn. The way the she was covered up by the blanket made her look like she was wrapped up like a burrito. So,   we decided to unravel her in the most forceful and obnoxious way possible.

Serena stood on one end of the sofa while I stood on the other. We both grabbed onto the blanket and slightly lifted Dawn.

Serena and I looked at one another and smirked. Time for the fun part.

"Three...two...one.....NOW!" We said together as we slung Dawn off the sofa.

"WWWHAAAAA!!" Screamed Dawn as she hit the floor.

"W-hat the...h-ow the...wha-!?" Dawn started to say, before turning to us.

The look on her face was a blend of Terrified, confused, and groggy from being abruptly woke up.
(A/N: I seriously HATE when that happens!)

Serena and I both tried our best to look angry. Serena stood with her arms crossed and was casting a fake, but convincing scowl. I simply tried my best to mirror her. She was much better at it to be honest with you.

Dawn frantically glanced back and forth between Serena and me. Nobody said a word for a few moments, until Dawn finally spoke.

"I-I-I'm...I'M SO SORRY!!!" She cried out.

Serena and I taken aback by her sudden outburst, but maintained our serious demeanor.

"Really now, and why exactly should we believe you after everything you did?" Asked Serena flatly.

"NO! This is all a big misunderstanding!! Please give me a chance, I can explain everything!!" Dawn pleaded, tears forming in her eyes.

I felt a strange feeling inside, it was the same feeling I had felt the other day. Something in my mind continued to tell me that she had to be innocent.

I turned to Serena, even though the expression on her face remained stern, the look in her eyes had softened a bit, showing that she genuinely wanted to believe that too.

Serena let out a sigh.

"Alright Ash, I think we should hold off on our plan for now." She said.

"Yeah, that's probably for the best, I wouldn't have been a very good "bad cop" anyway." I replied, rubbing the back of my neck.

Dawn looked even more confused now.

"W-what do you mean? What is all this?" Dawn asked.

"Well, let's just say we had a temporary change of plans." Serena said.

"Temporary?" Dawn replied.

"Yeah, cause if we don't like your story, you're in for a REALLY bad time." Serena said, narrowing her eyes.

Dawn cringed at the thought.

Serena and I took a seat on the sofa, while Serena pointed at the chair in front of us. Dawn immediately took the hint and sat down.

"Alright, start talking." Serena said.

Dawn stiffened up.

"Yes ma'am!" She said in a broken, intimidated voice.

Dawn took a deep breath, exhaled, and cleared her throat.

"I know how angry you are at me, trust me I truly do. But you must understand, I played no part in this!" Dawn said.

"No part in what exactly?" I asked.

"...In the wiretapping." Dawn replied.

"Go on..." Serena said.

"Ash, do you remember that bag I was carrying when you found me that day?" Dawn asked.

"Uh, I think so. Wait, didn't you flip out when I tried to carry it for you?" I said, reminding myself of the incident.

Serena raised an eyebrow at that, which Dawn noticed.

"Yeah, that bag. Well, the thing is, it was a... divice of some kind. I had absolutely no idea what it was. I had never seen anything like it before. It was a black cube and was about the size of a tangerine and had this red button on top of it." Dawn said, trying to describe the object with her hands.

Serena and I didn't know what to think.

"Okay, so was this cube thing the wiretapped or something?" I asked.

Dawn looked down in shame.

"Y-yeah...yeah it was." She said lowly.

Serena shot up off the couch.

"So you were in on it, weren't you!" She said angrily.

"No, I wasn't, really!!" Dawn said.

I grabbed Serena's hand.

"Sere, remember what we talked about. Please, let's let her finish." I said.

"Fine." Serena reluctantly agreed.

"Please Dawn, continue." I said.

"Yes, it is true that the cube was wiretapped, but I had didn't know until after I delivered it!" Dawn said.

"Delivered it to whom exactly?" Asked Serena.

"To my brother. He sent me that day to pick it up from some guy at the mall. He didn't tell me anything about it or the guy, and when I asked him about it he just got angry and told me that it's for him to know and me to find out." Dawn said.

Serena's anger had begun to fade.

"So, what happened next?" She asked.

Dawn was reluctant to answer at first, but then rolled up her sleeve. What we saw made bothe Serena and I gasp. There was a terrible bruise on her arm, the kind you get when somebody grabs your arm too hard.

"You don't mean...all those bruises on your legs and face..." Serena started to say, her hands cupped over her mouth in horror.

Dawn slowly nodded.

"My father heard everything I said to you. Needless to say he was livid. And the next day after school he was waiting in my dorm room and...he beat me. And if Brother hadn't given me a chance to escape he would probably would've...killed me. And... now who knows what they've done to Paul. Why...WHY DOES ALL OF THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME!?" Dawn said as she started to cry.

Serena immediately wrapped Dawn in a hug. Dawn started bawling.

"Shhhh, it's alright, I'm here for you. Just let it all out." Serena said softly, trying her best to comfort Dawn.

I felt so angry. What kind of a father would do that to their children!?

After about an hour, Dawn had calmed down. And by calmed down, I mean she cried herself back to sleep.

I picked up Dawn and laid her back down onto the sofa while Serena tucked her in.

After that, the two of us stepped out into the hall.

"Ash...you were right. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like I did. I'm sorry." Serena said.

I shook my head.

"No worries Sere, it's all in the past now. I'm just happy to finally know the truth, and man am I angry." I replied.

"Yeah, we're gonna make that monster wish he had never been born." Serena replied, clenching her fists.

"You'd better believe it!" I replied.

"It's getting late, so we should probably get some rest. Tomorrow's going to be a big day for us." Serena said.

"Yeah, you're right. Good night Sere." I said.

"Night Ashy." Serena replied.

We shared a quick kiss and headed into our rooms.

'That's right.' I thought.

'Tomorrow is the day we turn the tides.'

To be continued....

A/N: My goodness, I bet you weren't expecting that were ya. Neither was I to be honest, it just kinda came to me out of the blue and I figured, "Hey the more intense the drama, the more enticing the story."

I can't wait to get started with the next arc. It's gonna have some action scenes that are going to be really fun to write.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and I will see y'all next time!
