Ezio POV

These are the words I live by. My name is Ezio Kenway. If you are reading this then I'm either dead or lost my diary. I'm the son of one of the greats in the order of Assassins. My father was the last one and trained me to follow him. Outside of the Assassin look, I was a Vytal Festival champion three straight years in a row defeating the Invincible Girl, Pyrrha Nikos, each time. My family is also the wealthiest family in Remnant thanks to my father being a pirate. We were so rich that I became betrothed to the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company. I have yet to meet her. My father died when I was young and then I raised myself. I hope to one day bring the order back but for now I work by myself. I have a hit list of people that I want to take down: Roman Torchwick, Jacque Schnee, Adam Taurus, Cinder Fall. It is my goal to take these people down as well as the Templar Order.

I'm heading to a store called Dust 'Til Dawn for more supplies for my weapons.

3rd Person POV

Roman and his henchmen enter the shop, the camera lowering to a young girl wearing a hooded red cloak in the corner of the shop, reading a weapons magazine. Next to her is a boy dressed in all black.

Ozpin (voice over): But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul.

The henchmen look around and at the Dust crystals in the display when Roman approaches the elderly shopkeeper.

Roman: (flicking his cigar) Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?

One of the henchman points his gun at the shopkeeper.

Shopkeeper: (raising his hands) P-please! Just take my Lien and leave!

Roman: Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money. (to the henchmen) Grab the Dust.

A henchman opens a case and removes one of several cylinders, which the group uses to take Dust from the tube containers on the walls.

Henchman 1: (placing another open case on the display to the shopkeeper) Crystals. Burn. Uncut.

The shopkeeper proceeds to fill the case. As another henchman goes for another tube, he hears the muted This Will Be the Day song from the boy and girl's direction and unsheathes his sword.

Henchman 2: (pointing his sword at her back) Alright kids, put your hands where I can see 'em. (no response) Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?

He goes over to them and turns them around, the hood dropping to reveal a surprised Ruby Rose wearing headphones. The boy revealed to be Ezio who is also wearing headphones. He motions for them to lower them.

Ezio/Ruby: (doing so) Yes?

Henchman 2: I said, put your hands in the air, now!

Ezio/Ruby: Are you... robbing me?

Henchman 2: Yes!

Ezio/Ruby: Ooohhh...

Roman is waiting for his men to finish the heist when a "Hey!" and "Hyah!" are heard, and the threatening henchman flies past him. Roman calmly motions for another to handle Ruby and Ezio.

Henchman 1: (raising his gun at her) Freeze!

Cut to outside the shop, when the henchman, Ezio, and Ruby crash through the window. The other men look outside as Ruby gets up and unfolds Crescent Rose into its scythe form. Roman scowls, but Ruby smiles back at them before twirling the weapon around, striking it into the ground and turning off her headphones. Ezio simply draws his sword.

Roman: Okayyy... (to his remaining henchmen) Get them!

Ezio: I got this. You run!

Ruby: No. I'm not going anywhere!

Ezio: Suit yourself.

Ezio quickly attacks all of the men easily and knocks them out. Roman and Ruby are both beyond surprised.

Ezio: You need to hire better help.

Roman: You were worth every cent. Truly, you were. (to Ezio and Ruby, dropping his cigar and crushing it with his cane as approaching police sirens are heard) Well, Red and Sword Guy, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around... (raises his cane and opens the bottom to reveal a rifle with a cross grid) ...I'm afraid this is where we part ways.

Roman unleashes a red blast at Ruby and Ezio. Ruby fires at the ground and leaps over it while Ezio teleports away. When they land and looks up, Roman isn't there, and is climbing up a ladder on a nearby building.

Ruby: (to the onlooking shopkeeper) You okay if we go after him?

The shopkeeper gives a short "Uh huh". Ezio picks up Ruby in his arms. Ruby blushes due to the position she is in.

Ruby: What are you doing?

Ezio: Hold on.

Roman makes it to the roof, with Ezio and Ruby teleporting and landing right behind him.

Ezio/Ruby: Hey!

Roman: (stopping at the edge) Persistent...

Ezio and Ruby ready to fight him, but a getaway Bullhead rises up and opens the hatch to allow Roman inside.

Roman: (turning around and holding up a red Dust gem) End of the line, Red and Sword Guy.

He throws it out at their feet and fires at her, resulting in a large explosion.

Roman: Whoa-ho-ho-ho! (stops laughing when he sees something on the roof) Huh?

A woman in a purple cape is now in front of Ruby and Ezio, casting a circle of protection over them with her wand. As Ruby looks on, Glynda Goodwitch waves her weapon and summons several streaks of purple at the craft. Roman is thrown around in the back until he goes to the cockpit, where a woman in red, her face unseen, is struggling with the controls.

Roman: We got a Huntress!

The woman gets up and heads toward the back as Roman takes the controls.

Glynda glows purple for a moment and aims another blast above the craft, resulting in a dark storm-cloud right over the jet.

Roman: The hell...?

With a flick of her rider's crop, large jagged hail starts falling that pummels the jet and even breaks through the window, narrowly missing Roman's head.

The woman reaches the back and her arms and chest light up like fire, aiming a burst of energy at Glynda. The Huntress blocks it, but the flame splatters behind her and glows hot with the enemy's raised hand. Glynda back-flips out of the explosion, which destroys part of the roof, and magically gathers the shards to create a large arrow, which she throws at the craft. The fiery woman shatters the arrow with several blasts, but it reforms just in time to hit the side of the jet due to Roman's quick aerial lean. The wreckage separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the jet, but the woman summons several glowing rings around herself that expand and destroy the shards.

Ruby, finally acting, reverts her scythe into its rifle form to fire at the woman, who blocks each shot and creates several blazing circles around her two opponents. Glynda telekinetically pushes Ruby and rolls herself out of the explosion's radius; looking up to see the hatch close and the craft fly away. Ezio pulls out his bow.

Glynda: What are you doing? They're too far away!

Ezio: If you think that way then everything is.

Ezio fires an electric arrow and it hits the Bullhead causing it to shake but then soon gain control.

Ezio: Damn.

Ruby: Swear jar.

Ruby and Ezio turn to Glynda.

Ruby: (looking at Glynda) You're a Huntress! (putting on a pleading, awe-stricken face) Can I have your autograph?!

The scene cuts to Ruby's amazed face turn to one of shame as Glynda, with a tablet computer, paces around the table Ruby is seated at, right underneath a bright light in the otherwise dark room. Ezio sits right beside her.

Glynda: I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, you two. You put yourself and others in great danger.

Ezio/Ruby: They started it!

Ezio: Look, beautiful...Can I call you beautiful?

Glynda: NO!

Ezio: I guess no one has told you that enough. Listen, I'm very wealthy and I'm sure we can work something out with all of this.

Ezio winks at Glynda who blushes but regains her composure.

Glynda: If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back... (she notices Ruby's smile) ...And a slap on the wrist." (she demonstrates with her riding crop, which Ruby barely avoids as she gives out an "Eeek!)

Ezio: I guess my flirting strategy failed. It usually works.

Glynda: But... there is someone here who would like to meet you two.

She moves out of the way so a surprised Ruby and Ezio can see a man in green come through the doorway, holding a mug and a plate of cookies.

Ozpin: Ruby Rose and Ezio Kenway... (leans in to look at their faces) You... have silver eyes.

Ruby: Uh, um...

Ezio: Too close. I also don't swing that way.

Ozpin: So! Where did you two learn to do this? (gesturing with his head at the tablet showing their fighting)

Ruby: S-Signal Academy.

Ezio: My father.

Ozpin: They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?

Ruby: Well, one teacher in particular.

Ozpin: I see...

Ezio: Am I invisible because I answered that question too.

He puts the cookies on the table in front of Ruby. She tentatively picks one up, eats it in a single bite, and then, not seeing any rebuttal, shovels the rest into her mouth. Ezio reaches for one but smacks his hand.

Ozpin: It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow...

Ruby: (mumbles through her full mouth) Oh! That's my uncle! (she then swallows and wipes her mouth, embarrassed) Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like- Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa! (proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises)

Ozpin: So I've noticed. (placing his cup on the table as he leans in, then sits down opposite Ruby) And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?

Ruby: Well... I want to be a Huntress.

Ozpin: You want to slay monsters?

Ruby: Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! (talking faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing) You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it! (giggles) I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know! (flips out at the last part, staring at the two with a wide, crazy smile)

Glynda and Ozpin study her.

Ozpin: Do you know who I am?

Ruby: You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon.

Ozpin: (smiling) Hello.

Ruby: Nice to meet you.

Ozpin: You want to come to my school?

Ruby: More than anything.

Ozpin: (exchanging glances with Glynda, who shows her disapproval with a "Hmmph" before he turns back to Ruby) Well, okay.

Ruby smiles, wide-eyed and open-mouthed.

Ozpin: You may leave now, Miss Rose.

Ruby gets up to leave. She turns to Ezio.

Ruby: Thanks for the help. I hope to see you again sometime!

Ezio: We'll meet sooner than you think.

Ruby is escorted out. Ezio remains in the room with Ozpin and Glynda.

Ezio: May I talk now?

Ozpin: Why is Ezio Kenway all the way out here?

Ezio: Just getting supplies for my weapons.

Ozpin: Couldn't stay in Atlas?

Ezio: My semblance is teleportation. I could be gone and back in five minutes and no one would know.

Ozpin: Some semblance you got there.

Ezio: Thank you. If this all you want to talk about then I would like to leave.

Ozpin: There is something I want to discuss with you. How would you like to do something for the greater good of Remnant?

Ezio: I'm listening.

Glynda holds a file in her hands.

Ozpin: Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to take a life of a person who is causing lots of trouble.

Ezio: I accept.

Glynda hands Ezio a file. It is the file of the Assassin who has been causing much trouble with the White Fang as well as other scenarios. The face is blurred and unidentifiable.

Ezio: Do you know who it is?

Ozpin: None. No else either. No one wants to find out. Not even Ironwood. They're all scared. This is why I'm asking someone of your talent to take him down.

Ezio: This is a lot to take in, Ozpin. I'm taking a life here.

Ozpin: One life to save the lives of everyone else. He's a disease that must be stopped. You will certainly will be awarded for your efforts. You will be awarded with money and a place in the most noble of brotherhoods.

Ezio: I accept.

Ozpin: Very well, Mr. Kenway. That will be all.

Ezio leaves the room. Glynda stands next to Ozpin. Ozpin pulls out a Templar necklace.

Glynda: He's just a boy.

Ozpin: Yes but he's our best option. Send Elise to help him.

Glynda: Right away.

Glynda walks away.

Ozpin: I will find you, Assassin, and when I do I'll give you a public execution that would make the Remnant Inquisition look peaceful.

Ezio POV

I left the building holding the file that was about me. Before I knew it, Elise, my girlfriend, had appeared beside me.

3rd Person POV

Elise: So...

Ezio: First of all, nice to see you too. Second, how did they get this picture? I've done my very best to not be seen. I haven't been in years and suddenly this popped up. Who took it?

Elise: No one knows. The photo was just sent to us from an untraceable email address.

Ezio: I guess I have to lay low for a while.

Elise: I know you won't. The first sign of being a hero and you'll come teleporting.

Ezio: I'm heading to Beacon tomorrow. I'm going through with my plan.

Elise: You're going to try and recruit. Are you insane?

Ezio: I need help, Elise. I can't do this on my own.

Elise walks over to Ezio and places her hand on his cheek.

Elise: You aren't alone. You have me.

Ezio/Elise: I love you.

Ezio and Elise share a passionate kiss and then pull away.

Elise: Ozpin has made me your partner on this. What's the plan?

Ezio: We'll send him on a wild goose chase. Hopefully he'll give up looking. In the meantime, you lay low and I'll do some recruiting.

Elise: Very well. I'll see you again soon.

Elise kisses Ezio's cheek and walks away. Ezio's eagle appears. Ezio pulls out two letters.

Ezio: Give one of these to Sinon and the other to Akame. Be quick. Now go.

The eagle takes the letters and flies away.

Ezio: Things are about to get interesting.

The scene fades to black and This Will Be the Day starts playing.
