I looked at the watch, and it was around 1 am, we have squandered our time just finding for various routes to get out of this hideous place, we were totally exhausted and sat down below a tree scared as hell. We were trapped in this place forever? Was the question continuously running through my mind? To make matters worse, we could also hear loud sounds coming from within the temple grounds. None of us had the guts to go and check it out even though we were only a short distance away from the unholy place, and the sounds of whispering and humming were engulfing the place. With time coming to a virtual standstill and all hope lost, I suddenly had an idea. I coerced the rest of the gang to recite the Hymns of God which is supposed to keep evil spirits away and provide us the immunity against evil spirits.

We started chanting the Holy Hymns at the top of our voice, and our voice seemed booming across the forest, as we did so; we found a strange sense of tranquil coming over us, the place seems to console us. We suddenly felt convinced and our courage returned, and the whispering coming within the temple grounds went silent as if a greater power had summoned them to do so. We continuously prayed until around 4 am, then everyone finally fell asleep exhausted except for me, I stood guard so that to check, if there is any uncanny that will befall us again, I leaned my head back against the tree, the eerie things I encountered were spinning around my brains, I had never felt so petrified and simultaneously, I never felt so bravery after chanting the Holy Hymns. I felt a new energy was inserted in my veins, gushing thorough out my body, Amit, Jagdeesh and Pankaj woke up.

I looked at my watch and it was 6.30 am, and just about time for sunrise. They thanked me for standing guard, we left the place, not once bothering to look back inside the temple grounds, the nearby surroundings were absolutely normal and we reached habitation in a couple of hours. We narrated our tale to the locals there, who at first chided us for being foolish enough to visit that place even after knowing its history. They told us that we were very lucky to have escaped alive from that unholy place which they said had been a virtual death trap for many, there were many people in the past that had gone there and were never to be seen again.

After having some refreshments, we started back and reached home by around 7 am. We did not tell anyone about our adventure and quietly went to sleep, and then after some days we bid adieu to my relatives and to Pankaj. We were definitely shaken by the events which occurred during our trip but managed to conceal our discomfort. I had faced the fear which would suffice for life time, after returning to Mumbai, I was back on track, busy in my work, but somewhere deep inside my heart, the frightful memories were propping up, during weekends Amit and Jagdeesh use to visit me, we tried not to speak about the hideous experience, however, it would get spilled in our conversation, and then we use get engrossed in the subject of paranormal activities.

I began to introspect about the fact that, the lady and the child seen by Pankaj, might have been victims of the cult members. The men at the temple corridor seen by Jagdeesh, might have been the leader of Occultist who performed the unholy rituals. The three women seemed to be female members of the cult, who were about to kill me, and that was one of my terrifying experiences, and those hideous faces were never erased from my memories. We were all delighted to have survived the ordeal and our faith in God as a higher power was reinforced to a large extent. No one had any doubts in their mind that it was God alone who had saved us from the tragedy that night.
