“Mr. Bhatt.” She dropped a file on the desk with a thud and Arnav Bhatt came out of his reverie.

Government is her love. How dare they go against work etiquette, government etiquette.

Mr. Arnav Bhatt is in for a treat.

“Yes, Madam,” Arnav responded.

“Why don’t you take leave and ring up the best Otolaryngologist?” Khushi asked throwing a glare at him.

“Ma’m?”

“I am sure you need it. You have become deaf. Or have just attained some supernatural power which erased all thee alphabets from your mind except M, A, and M?” Khushi gritted her teeth.

“Ma’m?- looking at the glare she threw at him, he changed his words-I’m sorry, Ma’m. I got it,” he mumbled.

“Good,” she said sternly.

“And don’t forget that I’ve caught you staring at me. This is the last warning,” she added.

“I apologize, Ma’m. I will make sure not to repeat the mistake,” he was embarrassed and soon apologized bowing his head down.

Khushi just nodded her head at him.

And that gesture was enough to send him out. He was not needed there anymore.

“Wait a minute.” At her words, Arnav Bhatt turned back who was going out of the cabin.

“Yes, Ma’m?” he asked.

“Make sure that Arnav Singh Raizada does some work instead of roaming around the office flirting with everyone. Give him cases to study and demand the reports soon. Inform him to submit the reports to me as soon as he completes them,” Arnav Bhatt nodded his acceptance.

“Sure, Ma’m.” He went out.

As soon as he walked out of the cabin, he heard people giggling. Giggling? If KKG listens to it, I can kiss my job goodbye. He hurriedly went towards his fellow inspectors and heard the girls whispering praises to Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada, the new join.

“Miss Sharma and Miss Kapoor, can you both take your praises to your home? This is office if you remember,” he informed.

“Of course, Sir. We know. This is the office. And that too KKG’s,” she giggled again.

“Shhh, what if Ma’m hears?” Arnav pleaded to stop their gigglings.

“Ma’m can’t hear us. We are giggling slowly. The distance between us and Ma’m is 250 m, anyway,” the other girl said.

“Do whatever you want. But if Ma’m heard you, I am not going to take any responsibility as your senior,” he sighed.

“Oh, and by the way, where’s this new officer?” he inquired.

“ASR went over there. Look,” Miss Kapoor pointed at a place blushing heavily.

Oh god! Looks like this guy has got quite a few fan-following here.

“Thank you,” he said and went to the man whose name is the same as his.

“Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada,” he called out to him.

“Hello, sir.” He turned around and greeted his senior.

“Well, looks like you have a quite good interaction with the rest of the staff here,” Arnav Bhatt smiled at him.

“Yeah. They are all good,” ASR grinned.

“Come, let me take you to your cabin. You’ve got work to do,” Arnav said.

“Sure. Let’s go,” ASR replied as they made their way to the cabin.

The cabin is just beside the ACP’s cabin.

“Since your job is to assist ACP Madam as well, your cabin is arranged just beside hers,” Arnav Bhatt explained.

“Oh. That’s great,” he smiled.

“Good. I’ll give you a case to study now. Study well, prepare a report, and submit them to ACP before the office ends,” he explained taking out the file from the wooden cupboard in his cabin.

“This is the file,” Arnav showed the file to him.

“It’s so dusty,” Arnav frowned.

“Well, the case was of a year ago. Of course, it will be dusty,” he smiled at the face he made.

“Why study a case of a year ago? What’s the latest case? I’ll study that,” Arnav demanded.

“Well, Mr. Arnav Singh_” he was cut off by ASR.

“ASR is enough, sir.”

“ASR, it’s Madam’s order. Besides that, we’ll have to check your capability before assigning you the actual work. We know you are recommended by our higher officials, but we do have our rules. You’ll start assisting ACP Madam only after this case study,” Arnav stated the facts.

“Okay. That’s fine, then,” ASR nodded his head taking the file, coughing slightly as he smelled the dust, unintentionally.

“Good. All the best,” he prompted and went away.

“Hmm, so, KKG, Mission Khushi Kiran Gupta starts now,” he thought lost in hazel eyes.

She stood in a corner. Her grey lehenga with her hair down and no jewelry did nothing to hide her flawless beauty. She looked more beautiful in the simple outfit, to be honest. Her hazelnuts attracted him the most as always. He was clean bowled. She looked ethereal. He’s not the one who will give even a first glance at any girl. It was always the opposite.

She looked cute with the constant frown on her face, as always.

He looked at her as she made her way to congratulate the married couple. An old lady beside her looks like her grandmother is pestering her to stay for more time. This is what he could guess from their facial expressions. Whatever it was, that made her pout angrily. And he is sure she looked hot with that look on her face.

He continued stalking her as she made her way to a corner, her mood is quite grumpy. He’s not surprised. She’s just like that. His grumpy queen. Yes, she was his. And he is hers. He doesn’t if she denies the belonging. He knows just how to charm her heart.

“Sir, drink,” his reverie was broken as he heard the waiter’s words.

“No, thanks,” he responded.

The waiter left. His eyes looked for his girl, again.

He frowned looking at the spot Khushi stood a few minutes ago. She isn’t at that spot anymore. His eyes rolled around the hall to recognize her. No luck. He didn’t find her.

“Where is his Frowning Kiran Gupta?” he thought.

He continued searching for her as he walked out of the hall, into the garden.

No luck! She wasn’t there in the garden as well. Where is she?

He went forward only to listen to some sounds on his right side. Seems like someone is getting beaten. Great! He’s sure he can find Khushi there.

He smirked and walked to the small lawn on the right side of the garden where there wasn’t much crowd. He saw some people attacking a girl, well, she wasn’t just any girl. She’s Khushi. Khushi Kiran Gupta. ACP. He can recognize her anywhere.

He had to become a gentleman now. So, he walked up to the people who are getting beaten up by Khushi. He recognized a man among the people there. Well, he’s the same guy who got his guts kicked off by Khushi. Looks like the guy forgot the pain.

He started fighting with them along with Khushi. Both of them together finished the men. They would need an ICU to get admitted in.

Khushi was panting hard. No, not because she was tired of fighting them. It’s because she is angry with capital ‘a’ to the ‘y’ ending with capital. It would be an understatement. How dare they try to mess up with KKG?

“Do you want some water, Miss?” gentleman inside him woke up a few minutes ago and is full-on to take advantage of the most.

“Who are you?” she asked looking at the dark figure. Well, blame the lightings. She couldn’t look at his face. His face was slightly blurry with floodlighting in the garden.

“Well, it’s not necessary. By the way, you haven’t answered me if you wanted water or not,” he said.

“No, I don’t want your help. I can go myself and drink some,” she muttered.

“Well, if you have missed noticing it, I am the one who helped you to fight those me. So, just why not ta-” he was cut off by an even more furious Khushi.

“Did I ask you to help me?” she countered back.

“That doesn’t mean you won’t thank the person who put effort to help you,” he explained.

“I didn’t say anyone to put effort. And don’t expect a thank you from me. That’s not me. It’s you who willing helped, which, in the first place, I didn’t want.”

“So, you won’t thank me?” he asked.

“Not even in your dreams,” she huffed arrogantly.

“Fine,” he shrugged smirking.

Thanks to the darkness and just floodlighting, the sight of his smirk was missed.

“But-” he was cut off by Khushi.

“But? But what?” she probed.

“But you have to do something instead of a thank you,” he smirked.

“Basta*d,” she cursed.

“That hurt me. I’m not going to ask what you think I am going to ask,” he said, it looks more like he tried to comfort her. Pretending!

“And what do you think, what exactly I think you are going to do,” she asked raising her brows in typical KKG style.

“Well, exactly what you think a basta*d will want to do,” he outsmarted her.

“Smart! But not enough,” she mocked him.

“And how do you know that’s not enough?” he asked.

“The same way you how you have tried to outsmart me,” she answered.

“Smart-” he was cut off by Khushi.

“I know I am smart. I don’t want anyone’s certificate stating that. And I don’t want my dialogue returning to me,” she said.

“First thing, I am not a printer, so, be sure I’m not going to give you any certificate. And the second and last thing, I wasn’t going to repeat anyone’s dialogue. Sorry but I hate plagiarism, you see,” he smirked.

He smirked remembering the night.

“Khushi Kiran Gupta, what am I not doing to get you. I still can’t believe it,” he said to the invisible wind caressing his features.

“Hmm... Let’s get started with the case. Madam ko impress karna hai,” he thought aloud grinning like a fool.

(I have to impress Madam.)

Khushi’s cabin

Khushi sat thinking about the reception night and a faceless man wasting her precious time unknowingly.

“I have heard the voice somewhere. Where?” she sat thinking. And all of a sudden, chocolate brown eyes popped up in her head.

“What the,” she muttered annoyed at where her thoughts are going.

“Why am I even thinking about that flirty guy?” she wondered.

“Don’t know why am I thinking the two big flirts,” she chided remembering the faceless flirty guy and the new handsome junior inspector.

Precap-

“I think I need a cyanide now,” he said.

“What?”

“Cyanide. Heard the word?”

“But why?”

“You are smart enough to think and conclude,”

“How dare you?” she screamed after a minute of thought.
