Hello, fellow disciples! We've been searching far and wide for individuals who have cultivated for a long time. This month, we bring to you an interview with Nablai, the author of Infinity and Time and Space.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I'm Nab, a 46 year-old writer. I write poetry, short stories, NA and YA.

What is your writing process? How do you pick the which words to include in your poem?

My writing process is more on instinct. I choose the words to write--they choose me. And sometimes they don't make sense until I've composed the whole poem. It's more about penning the words as they come.

What are some things that influenced your poem?

My poems are basically influenced by real life and the feelings I've at the moment.

Pick one of your poems and tell us the backstory. How was it developed and what emotions did you hope to evoke from the reader?

Poem 3 in Infinity was written as I was going through a tough phase with no one to understand my feelings. This poem was written as an inspiration for me and all those who feel alone. To let them know that we are our biggest motivator and we should rely only on ourselves to fulfill our dreams.

What were some challenges you experienced while creating this poem?

I was putting a part of my vulnerability for the world to see. I feared being judged for my true emotions.

If you woke up in a time or place that was very different from reality, what would you do?

If I woke up in a different time or place then first of all I would try to learn through their language, and culture and try to explore their heritage of knowledge.

See if they have some highly developed vehicles and travel in their aircraft to see their world from the top. And of course, we are never forgetting food. Food is a must.

If you could share only one poem with a stranger, what would it be and why?

I'd choose poem 17 as it might inspire them to ignore the trolls and just focus on your goals.

Would you rather go through a lifetime of never finding love or be willing to go through several lifetimes of hardships just to save your love? Why?

I'd go through hardships to save the people I love--whatever it takes. Love encompasses all we love and I'm sure if the circumstances were reversed, they'd do the same for me :)

What is your favorite creature from Asian mythology or folklore? Why?

Pixiu--the winged lion. The fact it wards off evil spirits and attracts wealth is really cool!

What is your favorite Asian myth? Why?

The legend of the white snake.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Nablai! We wish you the best of luck in your writing endeavors.

Until the next chapter, fellow disciples!
