"Mom you called me?" Uday asked.

"Beta, You just got married and now this." she showed him a letter.

"Wow. That's my acceptance letter for the Military." he squealed in happiness.

He told his wife. She smiled. He could see tears in her eyes. He hugged her and said, "I know what you must be feeling but this was my dream from childhood. I'm sorry we can't go on our holiday."

She replied, "I know Nation comes first for you and you can do anything to protect it. I'm super proud of you. But promise me you'll come back soon. We'll go then."

"I promise" he replied.

"We have an emergency. There is some mysterious activity behind that mountain. We need to report there. Major Uday Singh, this is your last task here before you head back home. Are you ready?"

"Yes sir!"

And indeed it was his last task. He lost his life saving the Nation.

His wife was waiting at the door. Some people got down from a jeep. They carried a box wrapped in a tricolour flag. She got numb seeing it.
