I love lists. It's a bit of a problem, really. My first reading lists were favorite books within specific genres, and then I started compiling more utilitarian lists - awards, communities, anthologies, shops, whatever. Why? Well... Why not? It makes life easier when I want to look something up, and it makes things really easy when I see someone asking about open awards or communities that are hiring. Check out my list, I say. Here's a list. Look at my list!

The lists are getting out of hand. XD

The most important lists, in my opinion, are my awards lists. I try to keep them up, checking at least once weekly to cut out awards that haven't been updated in forever, awards that are finished, etc., and it's a pain. A real pain. Want to know a few pet peeves of mine? I'll give you two. First, hosts not marking their awards as "Complete" when they're done, and, second, hosts who stop updating or talking about their awards, leaving the participants with nothing but questions.

So, I gave myself more work.

This will always be a work in progress. I started with awards; I added in services; and communities will be my next project.

I need chocolate and coffee, STAT!

Addendum: I'm doing away with the lists. Down with the lists! Reading lists, that is. It's all going in this book, and I'm deleting reading lists as I go, because maintaining something like this in two places is difficult (I say as I copy and paste from the Google Docs file that is my master list - so it's still in two places). 😅
