Welcome back, today I'm finally releasing two pieces that were waiting in the queue for quite some time now. As you can see in the chapter title they're depicting characters that aren't mine but here courtesy of Sephigruen.

If you don't already know it, I'm going to have to introduce you to her badass werewolve story "My Moonlight Mate", featuring kickass characters and of course some major action. If you're into women characters that definitely don't need no knight in whatever armor to deal with distress - no, ma'am! -, you gotta love it just as much as I do. Also, there are puppies. So it was just a matter of time until I would draw some of my favourite characters!

Meet Andy, or Andromeda, who is large and in charge. She's a skilled motor mechanic and the pack leader, and as such obviously one of the main characters.

And here's Robin, adrenalin junkie and second in command. According to my theory she's also allergic to clothes.

Both are werewolves, and these bitches share some characteristics that I think are badly underrepresented in women characters. They're taking agency and responsibility, trying to meddle with destiny, and know what they want. They're comfortable with their own bodies and take on anything that life has coming for them. Yet they're not perfect - Andy is a frieking bomb with no way to defuse permanently! -, but I love watching these kicking major butt, figuratively and literally.

I also wanted to draw the protagonist, Steven, which is the reason I waited so long to publish these drawings. He has a totally different kind of energy and I struggled to find my way drawing him. So I figured there will probably be another chapter in the future with him and my somewhat secret favorite character. Can you guess who it is? Hint: He's a complete sweetheart.

Now, on the technical side these drawings were an experiment for me. I've worked with black linework for most of my pictures for several years now and wanted to try something new. I went out to get some coloured fineliners that withstand the alcohol markers and currently have three colours available: sepia, dark sepia, and pink. I chose those because sepia, light and dark, correponds with many colour schemes, and pink is the closest I get to my mainly used skin colour spectrum without having to use a broader brush tip.

It is really impressive how coloured linework changes the drawing and its expression. I'm not sure wether I love how it turned out in these drawings in particular, but the next try was a major success so I'll keep on practising with them. In-colouring-wise I tried to follow the scheme and expression on the story's cover while changing details in the way my present style works. It's definitely more stylized than other drawing I did but I think it's fitting for the characters.

Overall they were fun do work with and hopefully fun to look at.
