Yes, dear Mario Universe fans (especially those who are curious about the World's Lore) Fire Mario only has one life left and he's been holding onto this one life for months and probably even years. Whenever his brother, Ice Mario, couldn't fight for himself, Fire would step in and most likely die. Due to the rarity of 1-UP Mushrooms in the World of the Mario Universe, Fire gave up hope on trying to gain back the 98 lives he lost...

So yeah... Even though Fire Mario is a tough and reckless fighter, he's always being careful...

One wrong move in battle could probably be his last...
