I know you're thinking, "NEPH WHAT'S WITH ALL THE SCIENCEY CRAP FOR HYBRIDS I JUST WANT TO ENJOY THE STORY, PLEASE WRITE TS-26 OR TSAP-6" and I am. But since other people are making hybrid backstories as well, I want to show a few things so people can get a better idea of what hybrids were like. I will be updating this when people create new mixettes so look out for that!
And yes, I'm your writing teacher now so you get to learn some new vocab :3

Major Mixettes- Traits that the Hybrid can be most easily identified as (e.g, Blaze's Demon mixette from his mother, as he has features that identify as demon. Cinder's Wolf appearance is from her major Caneic/Wolf mixette), can be either from the Paternal or Maternal side.

Switched Mixettes- Traits that some hybrids may major in, others might minor in. Varies from hybrid to hybrid through genetics and family relation. Can be either from Paternal or Maternal side.

Minor Mixettes- Traits on the Hybrid that can't be as easily identified compared to majors (e.g, Cinder's Demon horns on her head when the rest of her is wolf, Mango's small Dancer "thorns" on her arms and legs when she's mostly the Coral mixette.), can be either from the Paternal or Maternal side.

Powered Mixettes- Very rare traits which carry a hereditary power with them. Allow hybrids to manipulate electricity, water, fire, or plants. Are traced back to hybrid ancestors in the 900's. One of the parents has to be of "Elemental" descent.

!Major Mixettes go first in the naming process, though there are a few exceptions!

Always Reptilian-

Hanger- Always Reptilian, 1-?? thin but strong tails, always reptilian; clever, gregarious, cheerful

Dragon- Always reptilian, 1-6 horns, 0-2 pairs of wings, 1-2 thick and strong tails; curious, ambitious, friendly

Brifter- Always reptilian, takes many features of lizards, 1-2 pairs of arms, winged or wingless; curious, nervous, happy

Lizinoric- Always reptillian, closely related to lizards, 1-3 supportive tails, usually have horns on head and/or shoulders, black pupils with any color seclera, winged or wingless. Have different "abilities" based on species of lizard (e.g may be able to run on water if based on a Basilisk, can glide with skin-flaps between arms and torso if based on a Draco); daring, sassy, agile

Kinokian/Kinoko- Always reptillian, around 4'7", 1-4 mushroom like tails, always has a mushrooms growing on body (commonly on the back), a majority of them are blind; shy, clumsy, easy-going

Ranasift/Rinaft- Always reptilian, 3-5", Froglike with 2-4 strong, octopus tentacle-like tails. Skin subconsciously copies the texture of whatever the hybrid is touching and standing on, though always remaining a bit slimy.
Major: Can shape-shift into anything that isn't liquid or gas, BUT can't be smaller than a mouse or larger than a horse. Shades of red, orange, and yellow irises and black, rectangular pupils.
Minor: The closest they can do to shapeshifting is slightly change color or size by an inch or two;
happy, curious, silly

Usually Reptilian-

Demonic/Demon (or Devil)- Usually reptilian 1-2 horns, sharp teeth, 1-3 thin+spaded tails; aggressive, ranges from law-biding to chaotic.

Marine/Sea- Usually reptilian, Gills and/or fins, Amphibian; snappy, clever, agile

Illuminator- Usually reptilian, some kind of light source of body, including head, torso, limbs, wings, etc; clever/bright (ironically), energetic, curious

Sauri/Saurian- Usually reptilian, takes on more of a dinosaur-like appearance compared to Brifters, however very similar to Lizorinic. Thick, scaled skin, sharp teeth, occasionally beaks. Some other varieties may include talons, horns, or feathers depending on their heritage; stubborn, protective, ranges from aggressive to docile

Reptilian or Mammalian-

Coral- Mammalian or Reptilian, tropical features, brightly colored, mammalian or reptilian; curious, happy, daring

Taker- Mammalian or Reptilian, dull colors and stealthy; deceptive, quiet, quick

Dancer- Mammalian or Reptilian, quick on their feet and high metabolism. Usually have thorns on their bodies (they are the thought of as the embodiment of a rose) and/or horns; social, active, energetic

Designer- Mammalian or Reptilian, have natural protection over their hands and feet, colors vary; creative, intelligent, helpful

Angelic/Angel- Mammalian or Reptilian, have 1-3 pairs of large, feathered wings on the sides of their head and/or on he back. Yellow, baby blue, or white pupils are most common, along with white sclera; ranges from extroverted to introverted, kind, helpful

Always Mammalian-

Geode- always mammalian, exceptionally rare, has gemstones on or in their body, more "natural" colors (white, gray, black, brown, green, yellow); curious, quiet, careful

Dhampir- always mammalian, bat-like appearance, winged or wingless, any variation of vibrant color; Quiet, clever, kind

Felinic/Feline (or Cat)- always mammalian, similar to cats/felines, has chest fluff, cat-like ears, paws, tail, cat instincts, etc.; selfish, curious, happy

Caneic/Wolf- always mammalian, similar to dogs and wolves, takes most features of the two; curious, good-hearted, active

Quilli- always mammalian, bird-like appearance but similar to angels, two stick-like horns, 1 tail. blue and yellow patterns are most common.; introverted, knowledgeable, friendly

Arali/Aralian- Always mammalian, a mixture of different feral mammals, this includes mixes of goat, sheep, wolf, etc. Usually, the differences can't be defined, therefore the hybrid belongs into this category, along with a minor trait that follows their characteristics.

Powered Mixettes-

Electra- Mammalian or Reptilian. Can manipulate electricity. Cannot create electricity unless orbs/aura/power is visible/proven there.
Sclera of the eye is dark, the pupil is a light (usually white or pastel) color. *The fur or horns stick up and/or out, showing or visualizing the electric charge.

Aquatic- Mammalian or Reptilian. Can manipulate water. Cannot create water unless orbs/aura/power is visible/proven there.
Sclera of the eye is usually black, sometimes being navy or white. The pupil is a light blue or bright red color. The hybrid's physique is adequate for water, having hydrophobic fur/scales. The hybrid has the ability to breathe underwater, no matter the major.

Firestar- Mammalian or Reptilian. Can manipulate fire. Cannot create fire unless orbs/aura/power is visible/proven there.
Sclera of the eye is white, one pupil bright red, and the other representing the major, resulting in heterochromia. The hybrid is highly fire-resistant, and commonly has red streaks and/or markings on fur/scales, as well as horns/thorns on the head, wrists, ankles, and shoulders.

•Jungle- Mammalian or Reptilian. Can manipulate plants only. Cannot create plants on command unless orbs/aura/power is visible/proven there.
Sclera of the eye is black or white, the pupils ranging from shades of green, red, blue, brown, or gray. The hybrid has a natural appearance/coloring, natural colors taking up most of its palette. Small plants, leaves, or roots may grow on the hybrid as well.

! All of the above Powered Mixettes !

Depending on the hybrid, small electric, water, or fire orbs will appear somewhere around the hybrid. Everything but the mentioned traits above is dependent on the major.

Not all of the four mixettes are necessary to be powered. The non-underlined are the necessary requirements to identify as that mixette. The underlined are only if it's powered.

This is not the necessary reasoning that it could stick out. If it isn't a powered hybrid, it could just be the genetics.

•Jungle is the only Powered Major. This can be the only trait in a mixture that is powered. A Jungle-Firestar, with each mixette powered, is not possible as it is physically too much power for a hybrid to possess. A mixture such as Jungle-Brifter (like Zvit) on the other hand is possible. The same rules go for Jungle just like the rest, it isn't necessary to be powered.
