When Terry was about 8, he loved taking care of Candy. Maxine and Casey didn't really care about her and often murmured to themselves about how Candy "isn't normal" and that there were "things wrong with her." Terry didn't think anything about that and always took care of her. Think of it as a second father, but more childish and daring.

when Candy was ten years old and Terry had to leave in a month for college, the bandanna he has made for her fit her. She loves it so much because it reminds her of Terry and how she looks like him too.
