- She had her kits painfully, and one died, a little black she-kit with white paws who she nicknamed Pebblekit

- Though Blackpelt loved her kits very much, she quickly realized she couldn't be a good mother
- She ended up taking her kits from camp one night and, against her better mind, killed them swiftly and silently
- Blackpelt mourned them for moons, lying to her Clanmates that she went for a walk and they followed, getting killed by a fox
- Fenneltail finally began to leave her alone
- Moons after her kits' deaths, Blackpelt couldn't handle all her guilt, and drown herself in the lake
- She woke in the Dark Forest, as she had killed her kits instead of giving them to another queen, which she had avoided because Fenneltail could then worm his way to them
