"i just wish i could see the world the same way you do," she said.

"let me teach you," i sputtered out, not realizing the consequences.

 "let me show you how to be happy."

she let out a sigh, like she was about to go underwater and that was her last breath. 

it was a heartbreaking sound. 

"why would you waste your time with someone like me?" she asked her eyes swimming with curiosity. 

i was drowning in her blue eyes every time she looked at me.

like the child i am, i shrugged my shoulders.

 "everyone deserves to be happy. it's common sense."

"will you show me what it's like to be happy?"

the goofiest grin i could manage appeared on my face.

"i won't just show you how to be happy. i'll show you how to live."
