she was sad.

after the mentioning of her parents, she no longer wanted to enjoy the wonders of the amusement park.

she wanted to go home.

once we got off the ride, she said goodbye and left me standing in the amusement park, no longer amused.

i was hurt.

yes, i knew what she had been through.

yes, i understood.

but that didn't mean it didn't affect me.

she was forcibly pushing me away, hoping that her past would get rid of me.

i refused to let that happen.

something inside of me stirred, and i felt more awake then i had in years.

my heart thumped against my chest and i knew that i wouldn't give up on her.

i would never give up on her.
