As we continue on the road, we're preparing lunch until we notice that Cilan accidentally knocks over the food. We know that he's not doing it on purpose, but he wants to remake the meal himself because he's guilty. So I'm not going to cook this time and we decide to train our Pokemon.

"Hey, where's Tympole?" I ask after I realize that he's missing.

We decide to find the Pokemon, and I accidentally slide down the hill and am hit by a Pokeball? And when I realize what's going on, I turn to see a Palpitoad who suddenly hides behind me. "Palpitoad? Is that you? You evolved?"

Palpitoad: The Vibration Pokemon: Water and Ground Type. Evolve from Tympole at LV:25. When they vibrate the bumps on their heads, they can make waves in water or earthquake-like vibrations on land.

"Why did you run off like that? You're making me worried." I say.

"So that Palpitoad is yours?" We turn to see Trip with a Vanillite. "It's Trip..." I say.

"Ash!" The others minus Cilan arrive and Alice says, "You're making me worried, Ash."

"Sorry, but it seems that Palpitoad has evolved!" I say.

"That's great news. It now has Ground Type which means Electric moves aren't going to work with it anymore." Eve says.

Just then, Vanillite floats over to Iris and she is scared. "What's an Ice Type doing here? Get that Pokemon away from me!"

"An Ice Type?" Alice gasps. "It's a Vanillite! I always want to have one of these!"

"Right, almost forget that you want to be the best Ice Type trainer before meeting Ash." Eve says.

After Trip returns Vanillite and prepares to leave, he says, "Next time, stay out of my way."

"Iris, you okay?" Golly asks.

"I was so scared... Dragon has a disadvantage against Ice Types so they don't like cold temperatures." Iris says.

"But that doesn't make any sense. Compared to Ice Types, Fairy Types are the biggest enemy of Dragon Type Pokemon." Eve says. "Not to mention you have an Ice Type in your team as well." Eve says.

"Lapras is exception! It's too cute to resist..." We sweatdrop, and I say, "But you're the Unova Champion, I don't think having a fear of types are going to help you."

"But people who live in the Village of Dragons are afraid of cold weather, and I'm no exception."

It is then Trip comes and says, "So you're the Champion? And you are from the Village of Dragon? Do you know you're not making any sense? It is not just Fairy and Ice, Dragon is also weak to Dragon type too. But still, you don't mind hanging out with Axew. And you called yourself a Champion?"

Iris is trying to ignore the comment, and Trip says, "Then let's have a battle."

"Why don't you battle Ash instead?" Iris asks.

"I haven't got the chance to battle a Dragon Type yet." Well, I don't have Dragon Types with me, so we decide to watch Iris battle. "Besides, battling with Ash won't help get my Pokemon stronger."

"So how many badges do you have now?" Alice asks.

"I have four." Trip says before turning back to Iris, "How about a three-on-three?"

Iris is now battling Trip, with her Pokemon being Druddigon, and Trip is using Servine first. It is obvious that Trip has been working hard to counter Druddigon's moves, but it is thanks to Druddigon's Rough Skin ability that Iris barely wins.

"I wonder if that's your skill, how did Alder lose to you." Trip says.

Trip admits that he met the Champion, Alder, at a festival when he was young. He got the chance to feed his Bouffalant and even promised to battle Alder one day to succeed him as Champion. Trip reminds himself of his true aim, with the Unova League just a stepping stone to the Champions League.

"That reminds me, you've battled Alder before, right?" Golly asks.

"Yeah, he's tough, but it is thanks to Tepig and Zorua that I win against him..." I say.

Then we see Iris using Hydreigon, which seems to be one of her stronger Pokemon, winning against a Timburr despite the type disadvantage, and then having a draw with Vanillite.

"So that's that. Alder's just have to wait." Then Trip leaves, and then we decide to head back because Cilan is waiting for us.

With Palpitoad evolved, we decide to do more Water Type training, and it is then I notice the reason why Dewott can't use Aqua Jet fully. He isn't opening his eyes underwater. So we decide to help him train.

Palpitoad and I are trying to help Dewott open his eyes, but it doesn't seem to work quite well, and it is then Alice rushes to us, "Ash, we have bad news!"

"What's going on?" We all rush and we find that all the other Pokemon are poisoned, except for Trubbish.

"This is bad... they're all poisoned." I gasp.

"And we run out of Pecha Berries, Antidotes, and Full Heals!" Golly says.

"We will need some Remeyo weed to help make the medicine." Iris says.

After searching, we find that there's a lot nearby, and Cilan is going to come with us. The big problem is that Dewott can't open his eyes, and there's also a group of Tympole and a Stunfisk blocking our way. Cilan is dealing with the Stunfisk with his own customized Super Rod, while the two Pokemon are facing Tympoles.

Because of Dewott's unable to open his eyes, Palpitoad is taking a lot of damage. But in the end, he musters up his courage and opens his eyes, using Aqua Jet to knock out all the Tympole in the area, and that's when we finally get the Remeyo weed to save the others.

Continuing our travels to the Nimbasa City Gym, we meet a Trainer named Georgia, who's obsessed with defeating Dragon-type Pokémon. This "Dragon Buster" challenges Iris to a battle, and her Beartic quickly beats Iris' Axew. Georgia demands to fight against Iris' other Dragon-type Pokémon, but Iris sends out Excadrill instead, and at first, it actually seems willing to fight...but a Rock Smash from Beartic quickly sends the stubborn Pokémon back into hiding.

Iris opens up to us about her history with Excadrill, and we learn that it first went into hiding after being defeated by the same move a while back. Cilan suggests that perhaps Iris hasn't been paying enough attention to Excadrill's feelings while battling, and she tearfully vows to make amends. An all-night special training session ensues.

The next day, Iris asks Georgia for a rematch, and Georgia accepts. Excadrill acts like a brand-new Pokémon, battling Beartic fiercely! The match ends in a draw, but a very happy Iris and Excadrill are as close now as they were in days gone by—maybe even closer!

And then we're in a thick fog and my Audino suddenly refuses to listen to us and act weirdly. As we try to find her, we also notice that other Audino are suffering the same thing. Suddenly, we are stopped by Officer Jenny and two young detectives, Christie and Doyle, who accuse us of having something to do with the recent disappearance of several Audino. When we reveal that our Audino is doing the same thing, we decide to help them out to search for the culprit.

Splitting up into three groups, we vow to find the missing Audino and keep an eye on the town's remaining Audino, with the help of some high-tech tracking devices. But just as we begin the operation, the remaining Audino start moving, and we decide to follow after them.

When the tracking signal gets jammed, Cilan speculates that someone might be controlling the wandering Audino and causing the tracking signals to fail by using high-frequency sound waves. With its excellent hearing, I send out Swoobat and lead the investigators to an abandoned wind farm, where we discover Team Rocket behind it all. Jessie, James, and Meowth have been luring the Audino, intending to use them as part of Doctor Zager's powerful new radar device. A fierce battle ensues and Team Rocket's sound-wave machine is destroyed, freeing the captured Audino. However, when Officer Jenny attempts to arrest the villainous trio, they escape once again. Fortunately, the Audino is now free and safe, and I get my Audino back.

We also meet up with Professor Juniper and Dr. Fennel on the way, and they are trying to use their newly created portable Fossil Restoration device to restore Archen from a Plume Fossil. The ancient Pokémon has some trouble adjusting to its modern environment compared to mine, rejecting our specially prepared food and complaining in an ear-splitting voice. Flying also proves difficult for Archen, even though it's the ancestor of all Flying-type Pokémon. This gives us and the researchers a monumental opportunity to witness the historic birth of Pokémon flight! At first, Archen struggles to get off the ground, even with help from my own Archen — but after it evolves into Archeops, it takes off easily!

Meanwhile, Dr. Fennel's machine has drawn the attention of Team Rocket, who hack into it to steal the data. They also try to catch Archeops, but after losing a heated battle, they withdraw to celebrate their data-stealing success with Doctor Zager. Worried about how Archeops will survive in the modern world, Dr. Fennel and Professor Juniper start making plans to create a proper environment for it...and then they discover the purpose of its persistent cries when three other Archeops appear! And so, united with others of its own kind, Archeops happily goes off with its new friends, and we bid them a fond farewell.

We meet up with Nate and Rosa on the way, so we decide to ask them where the gym is. When they say that there is no gym around here, I ask, "Isn't this Nimbasa City?"

"No, this is Nimbasa Town." Rosa says, "It has a distance between here and there."

Alice asks, "Then the Nimbasa Contest is held here?"

"I guess so." I say as we all head there.

"Ash, will you show your contest battle this time?" Rosa asks.

"Of course, I'm going to win my fourth ribbon." I declare.

"Then you have to pass through me." We turn around and see Reisa. "Long time no see."

"Reisa. You are here, too?" Ash asks.

"Of course." Reisa says.

"And don't forget about me." Hilda also comes and everyone is surprised.

"What is this, a reunion?" Nate asks.

"It sure is a small world." Hilda says.

In the performance round, I uses Palpitoad, Dewott, and Scolipede. They use the water and mud to make rain, causing the judges to like it. Reisa this time uses Milotic, Gyarados and Gorebyss. The 3 jumps out of the water make the audience cheers. Hilda uses Serperior, Tepig, and Mandibuzz to recreate a famous movie scene. The 3 of us pass through the first round.

"Hilda and Reisa are doing great, too." Nate says.

"But there is one thing, how come Reisa only uses Water Types?" Cilan asks.

"Well, she wants to be a Water-type master like her father." Nate replies.

"I see, kind of like me." Iris says. "Nate, do you have a particular type?"

"Well, I choose Normal Type. Since Aspertia Gym specializes in Normal Type." Nate replies.

"Well, I have no particular type." Rosa says. "I want to be friends with Pokemon and work together to make a better world."

Cilan says, "What a wonderful dream, I am sure you will be fine."

I'm fighting against Hilda in the semi-finals, and I win by having Palpitoad and Scolipede poison the Pokemon. Reisa and I are in the finals once more, and I still defeat her in the end and gain my fourth ribbon.

"Nice battle, you guys." Nate congratulates them all.

"Thanks, although I thought I had Ash this time." Reisa frowns.

"Well, there is also a Battle Club Tournament around here, how about we all enter together?" Nate asks.

"Sorry, but I'm going to decline that." Hilda says. "I really need to take a break."

Then we bid farewell to Hilda as we head to the Battle Club Tournament hall.
