It soon turned to night and Raker was still flying. Her wings were so sore and hurt. She could see the desert from far away though, so that's what made her carry on. When I get there I am SO going to rest my wings. It feels like I flew across all of Pyrrhia. She thought. Then she steadily remembered Ash. It felt like somebody stabbing a stake through her heart to think of him. She wondered if he was going to be okay. Tears filled her eyes. Then she quickly wiped them away because it blurred her view. Then her thoughts turned to confusion. How did he not burn from Peril's scales? Hmm........ She thought harder, trying to think. I got it! Maybe he didn't burn because he was already born in ashes. He was already part ash. His soul and heart couldn't burn anymore from hatred. He was literally rejecting the fire! She was very surprised. But that's not normal. Maybe his egg was animus touched. But then he might've had the power of animus. Maybe one of his parents was animus. As she thought harder and harder about Ash, she saw the desert coming closer to her. She was almost there and able to rest her sore wings! Her scorpion barbed tail lashes in excitement. She forgot that she has some icewing spikes before the tail barb and some flew off in different directions. She quickly stopped so nobody could notice her. But then her silvery ice blue underbelly would give her off if there were dragons on the ground, and her golden scales on her spine, horns, and snout would give her off from above, and her ice blue frill and icewing spikes behind her head. She has to quickly get to the desert. So she pushed herself and flew harder, even though her wings were killing her with pain. She gritted her teeth to hold it back.

She was finally in the desert now. As she flew a little ways into the desert, she saw that small dragon that had no stars underneath her wings. But this time, she only had a nub tail. Aww, poor thing, Peril must have burned it off. Raker thought. She landed hard on the ground next to the dragon and some sand blew in all directions from Raker's wings. Oh no. Imma hybrid. She might think I'm weak and not be my friend. I-I have to act strong and intimidating, but not to intimidating. She looked down at the runt dragon. The dragon's face was a mix of fear, and something else Raker did not know. A flash of this dragon came in her head, the flash was this dragon flying away from the nightwing kingdom with tears in her eyes, and then Skywings taking her hostage in the arena. The vision quickly flashed away. But why would she fly away from her home? I must be missing a piece of her story. Raker quickly broke the silence between them with a fake snarl that almost sounded to real to even sound like Raker. "I'm MoonRaker, but you can call me Raker." She twisted her face with slight disgust. You idiot! Don't be to mean or she will definitely not be your friend! She turned her face to a normal expression so she didn't show any feelings. "Umm, I should a-ask you, what is your name?" She asked with delight at her turn of attitude. The nightwing looked up at her with a blank expression and murmured, "I-I'm DeadWings. Obviously you can see why." She said with slight sympathy in her voice as she shrugged her wings open a little bit, showing her starless wings. "O-oh, sorry to be so rude, that's not my normal self. I just thought you would think I'm weak because I'm a hybrid, but I guess I shouldn't be the one to think that dragons might think I'm weak. I'm sorry." Raker said with a sliver of sadness. "It's okay." DeadWings replied blankly. "Do you wanna be f-friends?" Raker stuttered. It was a few heartbeats later that DeadWings replied. "Sure." She quickly said.

That night they took a rest and Raker fell asleep, dreaming of Ash sitting by the lake that they sat at, the stars reflecting everywhere in the lake as is if it were a pool of outer space. And then the sky bright with stars. He looked up at it with tears and wanted her to fly next to him. He would look to his side, remembering where they used to lay. Then he would look up at the stars again as if she were going to magically going come into his arms and wings again.
