"We're here," An said as he closed his eyes. He must've been exhausted after everything that happened.

"We'll take the injured to a hospital where they can be better attended to," Arima said.

"If you want to rest you can come to the Chief's tower," Wanikiya suggested. His eyes had become devoid of tears on the way to Wahkan. "I'll be looking after Lei and Adela."

I looked down, recalling everything that had just occurred. "I'll ask my mother if she knows anything about Lei's bestial form. Please take this time to rest. We might have an even bigger battle ahead."

"I'll go with you," Iah said as he adverted my gaze. "I haven't been very useful thus far."

"Alright, you are my only conscious teammate at this point anyways."

"What about me?" Ayawamat asked.

I chuckled. "Oh right. You can come too."

He leapt down and landed between Iah and me. "Honestly. It's sad to be forgotten."

"Brother?" a voice called.

Ayawamat turned and saw a rust-haired young man carrying a bag.

"What are you doing here at this hour, Houta?" Ayawamat asked. "Actually, what are you doing in Caelum?"

"I came to visit our family. Father sent me out to get some milk." He pointed to the bag in his hands. He glanced at the unconscious Lei. "I heard the news, the western part of our continent has seen the appearance of an unknown enemy. Everyone is so afraid, some leaders in other regions have even suggested bombing the entire western part of the continent."

"That's insane," Iah said, shaking his head. "They can't just bomb us into oblivion!"

"It's a radical idea, but I can see why there's fear," I said. "Especially if the leaders calling for such an event know of the prophecy."

"The one that Xianian ministers speak of?" Houta asked, tilting his head.

"Yes, well the version spoken of in my clan. I haven't read the Xianian one, but don't worry. The three of us will be getting help to contain and destroy the darkness."

Ayawamat's brother scoffed. "I'm not scared at all. In fact, I'll like to join you in your reconquest of the continent."

"You don't know how strong the enemies are," Iah said.

"I've seen plenty to have developed a strategy against those creatures. I'll be happy to show you, after I deliver this milk."

"If you want I'll can deliver it for you," Zelde said. "I'll like to see you try to stop the darkness... Plus you're older and more knowledgeable than any of us. I want it gone." She gripped her chest. "My friends are in great pain... if the shadows vanish perhaps they'll wake up and one of them will return to his old self."

"I'll accompany you," Wanikiya said, landing next to her. "Nahimana. I take it that you're going with Nyima's group?"

Nahimana jumped off alongside Ry and nodded. "Yeah. We must head to the holy site. It's not far from here."

"No need to walk there," my mother's voice echoed. A brilliant light surrounded those accompanying me. The next thing I knew, we were in sapphire blue tower. Holding up the ceiling were white pillars decorated with silver leaves and pearls in the center of the leaves as if they were berries.

"Welcome to The Abysmal Tower," the owner of the voice said. A red haired woman dress in a rather revealing crimson dress walked into the room. "Everything is nearly ready for the sealing of the Kyuu Seishinian gate." She glanced over at Ry and Nahimana. "Good, you brought these two. They will be of great help."

"Mother. After we seal the gate can you take a look at one of my friends. The darkness, it took over his body."

Mother nearly stumbled back. "That's... The child is still alive?"

"He is, but his pulse is weak," Nahimana said. "We'll tell you more once the gate is closed."

Mother nodded. "Alright. You two follow my daughter and me. The rest of you stay here and prepare to battle some rather powerful creatures of the abyss."

"What?" Iah said.

Mother grinned. "Not to worry. My husband will be coming here to assist you. Good luck."

This woman sure is subtle. Though she was right about them needing luck. The ceremony would mean the weakening of the seals on the lower floors. This process was a very dangerous one that had the potential to make the current crisis seem like a normal day.

"Good luck to you too!" Iah yelled. "Don't push yourself too far. We couldn't get the elixir so the'll be no other chance if you do so."

"I know. As I told you guys before, I won't die."

He flashed me a pearly smile. "Right. Nor will I. Now go. We'll rescue Lei once we're done with this."

Smiling, I nodded. "Right."

"We're here," Mother said, pushing open a silver and sapphire door. A giant, white geometric circle made up of a four-sided star within a triangle and with a cross overlaid upon them was on floor. "I'll leave the rest to you."

"Huh?" I glanced back and saw mother sway back and forth like a tree about to tumble down.

"Mom!" I yelled as she fell back.

"I told you not to push yourself too far," a blue haired man said as he caught her.

"Sweetheart," Mother said, smiling. "You should go help out those boys. They'll need your help more than me."

Father nodded. "Alright." His gaze shifted toward me and smiled. "Nyima, take care of yourself too. The fate of the world depends on you and your friends here."

"We know," Nahimana responded for me as she stepped forward. "Let's begin while the darkness is still in one area. We also have to rush against the idiot leaders who want this place destroyed. Such a plan would only unleash more darkness upon the world and not to mention the assured death of our families and friends."

I took a deep breath and tried to keep myself from shaking as I walked forward. Goddess, please help me.
