water crashed against the rocks below the rocky mountain, sending spray everywhere. a man and his boy sat on the grassy field's edge, fishing poles in hand, and bait dangling just underneath the crystal lake's surface. a man clad in all black stood from atop the mountain, peering down at the father-son duo, silently analyzing the area.

it was his job to take out the man, otherwise know as norman osborn, head of oscorp, and otherwise known as the green goblin. the boy- harry osborn, twelve year old son of norman, would be spared, and sent to live with his aunt and uncle all the way in michigan.

the assassin skillfully scaled the mountain, staying completely hidden among the shadows. as he neared the bottom, he silently let himself drop, his sound-proof shoes absorbing all the sound as he hit the jagged rocks. he watched curiously as norman started to holler, ending in pulling a huge fish out of the water. harry laughed at his father's antics, and quickly unhooked the hook from the fish's mouth, and dropping the catch onto the ground.

the assassin took in a silent breath as he unsheathed his black katanas, readying them at his side. his gun sat snugly on his hip, ready to be grabbed if the time came. he quietly snuck up behind the villain, bringing his swords above his head. harry looked up just in time to see swords go straight through his father's chest, and let out a blood-curdling scream.

the assassin stared down at the kid, the tiniest hint of remorse pulling at his heart. but as the life left norman osborn's eyes, he pulled out his katanas and re-sheathed them before picking up the boy.

"hey, let me go!" harry screamed as tears burned his eyes. the assassin bit back a reply as he dragged the now orphaned boy by his under arms and down the mountain. there, a "boat" was waiting, and the black clad man guided harry onto it, sitting him in a chair. nicolas fury came out of the doors as the boat sailed down the river.

"child," he began, but was cut off by a sob.

"why! what did my dad ever do to you!" harry cried, burying his face in his hands. fury sighed before crouching down in front of the twelve year old.

"as i was saying, your father was a very bad man. you know who the green goblin is?" fury asked. harry shook his head slightly. "well, the green goblin was your father, and he wanted to destroy new york."

harry sniffed, suddenly intrigued. "g-go on..." he mumbled. fury nodded.

"we couldn't let him destroy the city, harry. and especially didn't want him to experiment on you- he's done that to kids before- even some of our own," he explained, gesturing to the boat around him. harry's eyes widened.

"r-really? who did he hurt?" he asked, his voice small and timid. fury looked over at the assassin, who was carefully wiping smeared blood from his katanas.

"you see the man over there, the one who killed your father?" he asked quietly. harry nodded. "well, your father hurt him- many, many times."
