"Aren't you cold?"

No answer.

"My leg hurts."

No answer.

"Are you ignoring me?"

No answer.

"That's so immature."

"I'm brooding."

"Well, okay, Miss Broody, how long until we get to this village?"

No answer.

Amber sighed and wiped rain off of her arms.

"I'm going to keep annoying you unless you answer my questions." Amber warned Petra.

"And I'm going to ignore you until you stop annoying me." Petra retorted.

That shut Amber up.

She wondered if Olivia was okay. If Jesse was okay.

Because Sammy was not okay.

"Sammy's dead, I think." Amber said casually.

"What?"

"He told me."

"That doesn't make sense."

"He told me like, five minutes ago."

"How can he tell you if he's dead?"

Amber shrugged.

"That's really creepy." Petra said.

Amber shrugged again.

Jesse had gone for a walk. Olivia could understand that. She was stressed. Jesse had lost Sammy and Lukas.

Axel was sleeping. He wasn't coughing. Good.

He would be fine.

Olivia sat down. She wanted to sleep, but she couldn't.

Petra and Amber will be fine.

It seemed like every house the team built had been destroyed. 

Olivia listened to the rain. She could smell the moisture, even from inside the shelter. The image of Sammy just going...well...

The image had a place in Olivia's mind. A place that would haunt her forever.

She moved closer to Axel. He seemed peaceful. Olivia stroked his wet black hair.

"Are they always like this?" Amber had asked, wincing as Jesse's voice rose.

"Normally it's me and Axel who do the arguing." Olivia had answered.

"Do you like him?" Amber had been smiling.

"What? No!" Olivia had exclaimed, though what she had said was a lie.

Olivia sighed. The rain grew louder.

She made sure that Axel was asleep, then leaned down and kissed his forehead.

"Are we there yet?"

"We're close."

"I'm cold."

"Stop whining, Small Fry."

"Don't call me that!"

"Okay then, Wolfy."

Amber scowled at Petra, ignoring the pain in her leg.
