The book I will be featuring today is: What About Today

My book is about: What About Today is about two teenagers who met at a theme park and decided to spend that day together. Gemma is celebrating her birthday alone while Aiden is the theme park owner's son. Throughout that day they get to know each other while facing their fears, whether it be of heights, or real life responsibilities, and decide if they were better off as strangers, or will they continue their friendship outside of the theme park.

I wrote this book because: It was actually the product of a writing class called #BuqoYA and I was assigned the trope of "Best Day Ever". I knew the setting of the place would have to be great so I brainstormed this story with my friend while riding a ferris wheel. I love reading young adult romance novels, so this was sort of my take on it.

I hope students who find out or read this book look up and learn more about this topic: Nothing required but there are a couple of references there from pop culture and certain books that they might need to check. But I don't think it's too alienating for anyone to not relate.

Readers of my book should try this (Filipino author) next: If you want to read something in the lines of suspense and horror, I recommend Eliza Victoria's Dwellers. It's about two men who have the power to inhabit other people's bodies, and these two leads took over the lives of two brothers. It's a little scary and thrilling, and has a nice mystery to it. If you like to read something sweet and fluffy, I recommend Prom Queen Perfect by Clarisse David. It's a short and sweet young adult novella that takes you back to your high school days and reminds you of all those classic high school romcom movies. It has a makeover in it, kinda like Clueless and She's All That, in which the popular girl decides to do a makeover on a less popular girl in response to her childhood friend slash rival/enemy then turned lover, Adam (the cutest!). It's a really cute and satisfying romance read.
