Avni was doing her work when someone hit her head slightly. She made an irritated face knowing who would the person be. It was a boy who hopped in front of her and took the seat there.

N: Ha ha thik h.

He looked at her that she would make a move but she went back in her books. Irritated, Neil held her hand, and closing the books dragged her outside.

A: Neilu, chod. Mujhe pdhna h.

N: 24/7 padhne k alawa tu krti kya h? Chl na.

A: Aisa kya h?

N: Kuch batana h tujhe.

A: To yahin bata de. Aur mujhe pta h kuch bakwaas sa joke ya kl jaisa koi question hoga. Jaise kl pucha tha tune. (Mimicking him) Avu, tu khali paet kitne apple kha skti h? Maine kha 3. And u were like (mimicking him) Hahaha idiot, tu khali paet ek hi apple kha skti h, kyuki dusra khate samay tera paet khali nhi hoga🙄.

A: Tu vaisa hi kuch batane vala h na😒?

Saying this, he dragged her till the canteen of the college where all the girls and boys were either chit chatting or filling their stomachs.

N: Yha m jitna tez chahe bol skta hu. Aur ye to canteen hi h😁.

Neil who was looking damn furious slapped him acroos his face while the boy held his cheeks trying the interpret what just happened. The girl, Avni and others stood shocked. The girl ran and held the boy while he jerked her.

N: Koi zaroorat nhi h aise Insaan Ko hamdardi dikhane ki😡. Aur kis baat ka ghmnd h tujhe ha (holding his collar)? Hr koi itna lucky nhi hota jise apna pyaar mile. Jinko vo insaan pyaar kre, jisse vo krte h. Tujhe Mila h, to value it.

The boy stood speechless. Everyone in the canteen started clapping for Neil. Avni saw her bestie with pride and adoration.

Neil looked at her and smiled. Tapping her cheeks and blinking his eyes, he showed he'll protect her like her own brother always. Avni came near them and side hugged the girl glaring the boy. He ran from there asap while everyone laughed. Avni looked at Neil with a smile on her face.

N: Tumhe aise kisi k piche bhaagne ki zaroorat nhi h. Jo tumhare layak hoga, vo tumhe Rajkumariyo ki trf rkhega. Vo tumhe vaise hi pyaar krega jaisi tum ho, hmm?

Neil smiled and the girl went in her class.

Neil turned to look beside him. Avni folded her hands near her chest.

Everyone clapped and whistled while Neil looked at Avni.

Everyone started laughing and clapped.

Neil smirked while Avni didn't want to lose. She banged her hand on the table in between them and came near him standing straight in front of him and looking direct in his eyes. She looked at Neil as if not trying to defeat him but show her emotions.

A: Kya mtlb aisi talab ka

She took a step closer while he moved back. Their eyelock never breaking.

Avni stopped moving further while Neil too did. And all the crowd that was hooting till now stopped understanding the gravity of the situation and listened them carefully who were way too much into the game.

Avni looked at Neil with questioning eyes. He started moving towards her while she stepped back this time.

N: Mohabbat me mile aansu
     Ishq me Mila gam!

He looked at her as if trying to explain.

N: Mohabbat me mila hr aansu

     Ye kya jano tum!

Avni opened her mouth to defend but Neil didn't let her. He kept moving and speaking.

N: Kisi k liye Dil ka dhadakna
     Kisi Laila ka Manju ho pana
     Kya Jane ye matlabi duniya
     Kya hota h kisi k khatir fanaah ho jana....

He kept his hand on the pole behind caging Avni between him and the pole. His eyes were shiny and face flushed. He was taking deep breaths looking in her eyes. Avni didn't understand what was wrong with him. Banging his hand on the pole and making Avni flinch, Neil left from there. While all others started gossiping about what they just saw, Vidyut, Ali and DD were tensed for Neil. But Avni, she was confused. She had so many questions which Neil has to answer and she went behind him.

Neil was standing in the garden. Avni who was running till now, took small steps towards him. It was quite peaceful there, totally opposite of the canteen they were just in. The garden of the college was their favourite place. She knew he would go there.

N: Mujhe kuch time k liye akela chod de Avu.

She stopped a bit far away listening him. She knew he would know about her presence. Nothing new for them. He was looking at the sky though only he knew what exactly.

A: Tu janta h m nhi jaungi aur ye bhi ki bahut sawaal h mere mn me.

N: Tujhe bhi pta h ki mere paas unka koi jawaab nhi h.

A: Aur tu ye bhi smjhta h ki m manne vali nhi hu.

He sighed and turned. She was looking down fidgeting with her fingers. And by that he knew she was nervous. He went near her and stood in front of her.

N: 2 min k liye bhi akela nhi chodegi na?

She shook her head in negation not lifting her eyes.

N: Puch, kya puchna h?

A: Tu kisi se pyaar krta h👉👈?

It was more like a statement than question.

N: Ye janna h ya ye ki maine iss baare me tujhe kyu nhi btaya?

A: Shayad dono.

He raised an eyebrow and she looked down again playing with her fingers.

Neil looked at her who didn't know herself what she wanted. He took her hands in his making her stop her work and look at their hands and then him.

N: M tujhe usse Mila bhi du but usne na kh diya to?

A: Tujhe kaun reject kr skta h?

Avni took her hands off from his grip and walked a bit backfacing him.

A: Tujhme vo hr cheez h jo ek ladki apne life partner me dhundti h. Looks h, paisa h, sbse badi baat ek achha Dil h. Tujhe sbki respect krna aata h, sbse pyaar krna aata h, sbko khush rkhna aata h. Neil just kept looking at her and listening her. Has she ever praised him like that?

N: Itni taarif! God! Hzm nhi hui yrr.

She giggled while he smiled. He stood beside her.

A: Tujhe pyaar krna h, kr. Shaadi krni h.....to.....to vo bhi Khushi se kr. Pr tu sirf mera bestie rhega, ha?

She held his collar slowly and pointed her index finger.

She looked at him. Her hand slided slowly from his collars, going back to their precious job.

A: M janti hu ki m teri zindagi me hmesha priority nhi rh skti, afterall, tu kbhi na kbhi to kisika hoga na? But m teri priority list se bhr nhi hona chahti, u know what I mean, right👉👈?

She looked at him waiting for his answer.

She turned to leave but Neil held her hand.

She turned and looked in his eyes that showed sincerity. She smiled in her welling up tears and hugged him. Neil engulfed her in his arms caressing her hairs. After staying like that for sometime, she detached from him.

A: Umm, vo, Naam......Naam kya h uska? Hmare college ki h? Ya phir locality me koi?

N: Vo....

A: Nhi, it's ok. Pr tujhe Neilu sirf m bula skti hu, ha?

He smiled and blinked his eyes in assurance while she smiled as well. He then held her hand.

N: Aaj tujhe usse milva hi deta hu.

A: Nhi m....mujhe classes attend krni h. Tu Jana. Tu ja, Jake usse puchke aa she loves u or not. Vaise mujhe pta h ha hi hoga. Na bhi ho skta h, aakhir tujh jaise amrood ko mere alava kaise koi jhel skta h. But, Whatever, All the best.

N: Arey aise kaise all the best? Tujhe mere saath chlna pdega. Mujhe himmat kaun dega?

A: Tu to bahut Himmatwala h. U don't need me anymore.

Saying so, he held her hand and dragged her somewhere. She kept on refusing by some or the other excuse but it went in deaf ears. Finally they reached in the staff room. No faculty was present there as they were in either canteens or classes.

A: Oye! Plz, ab ye mt bolna ki tu kisi teacher ko pyaar krta h.

N: Arey nhi nhi. Vo yhi aayegi.

A: Vo yha....(in soft low voice) vo yha kyu aayegi?

N: Shh🤫!

Neil moved behind a cupboard with Avni as a teacher entered. He peeped to see that the teacher left. He dragged Avni, whose hand was still in his with him a bit further and stopped there.

A: Neilu chl kya rha h? Kha h vo?

N: Vo to rhi, tere piche.

A: Mere piche?

Avni turned to see a mirror. She face palmed herself.

A: Tu pgl h? Ye koi ldki nhi h. Ye mera reflection h. Shishe k saamne kyu khada kiya tune mujhe? Where is the girl u love?

N: There she is.

He held Avni's shoulders and turning her towards the mirror pointed at the mirror. Avni looked at it and could see her and his reflection.

N: It's her. The girl I love. The girl I belong to.

Avni looked at him in the mirror and then at herself. She was still confused.

A: Neil, mujhe lgta h tujhe na sar pechot aayi h. Kaisi behki behki baate krra h? Ye mera reflection h. Ye m hu naki vo ldki. Tune kha tu mujhe usse milayega jisse tu pyaar krta h aur yha mujhe mera hi reflection dikha rha h. Isse m kya smjhu ki......

She stopped and snapped her head back at mirror. Her mind started connecting the dots. She pointed her finger at the mirror on Neil's reflection, then at herself and then her reflection. Her eyes widened in shock as reality seeped in her while Neil kept smiling seeing her expressions in the mirror. She opened her mouth n times to say something but failed. She then looked at him in the mirror with eyes welling up while he blinked his eyes giving a full stop to all her thoughts. She covered her mouth with both her hands finally understanding what he meant. Turning around, she looked at him.

N: Kaisi lgi meri psnd?

Avni didn't say anything rather jumped a bit taking him in a bone crushing hug due to which he lost his balance but stopped at the table. He closed his eyes and hugged her back. Kissing her hairs multiple times, he said sweet nothings in her ears to calm her down.

A: U (hiccup) u (hiccup) u love (hiccup) me😭. I'm the one (hiccup).

N: Shh, Avu stop crying.

A: Tell me......u (hiccup) u love me? U.....

Neil kept on caressing her hairs. After sometime she stopped crying and started to sob and finally totally silent. Neil was still caressing her hairs. The beautiful silence. Her head was on his chest and she was hearing his heart beats. Neil looked down detaching Avni a bit. He wiped the traces of tears on her face which was red due to crying so much while her eyes were closed. She then opened her eyes slowly looking at him while he smiled. He handed a jug of water kept there. Gulping some, she looked at him.

A: Nei.....

N(cutting her off): Shh! Yha nhi. Come with me.

He held her hand and moved out. She didn't know where he was taking her. She just kept looking at him with a smile. She came in her senses when she felt him hault his steps. They were back in the garden. He turned towards her leaving her hand and looking down.

Silence.

N: Tujhe kuch khna h?

He looked at her who was already staring him.

N: Avu, tune kha tha ki mujhe koi reject nhi kr skta. So👉👈.....

He expected her to say something but she was just looking at him.

N(clearing his throat): Ahm ahm!

He thought she was lost and hence tried to bring her back but she didn't budge. He looked down loosing all hopes. He squeezed his eyes and looked down to hide his tears. He turned and walked from there.

A: Dil ki dhadkan ho tum,
    Ho chaand mere aasman k!

Neil stopped and looked back. She was moving towards him.

A: Dil ki dhadkan ho tum,

He smiled in tears while her state was no different. She reached in front of him and cupped his face.

He didn't know what to do and how do react. She wiped his tears which were not ready to stop. He looked down squeezing his eyes and placed his hands on hers which were on his cheeks. He took hold of them and kissing them, placed his face on her hands while she kept on looking at him chuckling in her tears. No one spoke a word.

Theirs was not a fancy proposal. It was simple. It was cute. It was unique.

Neil reached almost near her and grabbed her by her waist making both of them fall on the soft grass. Neil fell down first and Avni on him. Both of their laughter stopped and they shared an eyelock. Neil pinned the strangs of the hairs which blocked his view of her beautiful angelic face with one hand and with his other hand he was holding her. Her hands were on the ground on either side of his face preventing her whole weight on him.

He shook his head in a no. She tried getting off from him but he pulled her by her bare waist making their noses collide and again eyelock. Their faces were inches far. Both of their breaths mingling and hearts beating crazily against their chests. Avni moved her eyes here and there and again tried getting up but again he pulled her back.

She looked at him confusingly.

A lil girl of about 6-7 yrs entered a big bungalow with nameplate as 'Parikh Mansion', running. She was having school uniform on and a bag that weighed more than her.

Avni's eyes too formed tears seeing her best friend crying.

He literally jumped on her taking her in a bone crushing hug saying multiple thank yous.

M Abhi recently apne village gyi thi and I was talking about my brother to my cousin sister who is very close to me, I don't know how we jumped on this topic of how we thought babies come😝

My di told me that she used to think ki ek jgh pe bahut saare babies hote h, aur parents ko Jake ek baby chunna hota h and she was like 'I wondered hmare parents ne hme kyu chuna between so beautiful cute babies😂'

Avni didn't know how to react. If happiness could be measured, she would have been declared the happiest person alive. She didn't say a word rather making him stand, threw herself in his arms, the one she loved, the one she belonged to, the one who would hold on her and trust her when she herself wouldn't. Taking Neil in a big hug, she clinged onto him shedding tears of happiness. How blessed she was.

A(sniffing): Ofc! Ofc I will. I love u Neilu. I'll marry u with all my pleasure. M bta nhi skti m kitni khush hu. I love u, I love u so much. Much much more than u do. Aur tu mujhe kya jane nhi dega, m khud hi kbhi nhi jaungi. Hmesha tujhe Apne saath, apne paas rkhungi. I'd love to be Mrs Khanna. Shizuka hmesha se Nobita, Juliet hmesha se Romeo, aur Avu hmesha se Neilu ki thi aur rhegi. I love u so damn much.

Neil smiled in tears. He kept caressing her hairs to calm her down. She almost stopped sniffing when they heard thundering of claps that is when they noticed that the whole college was the eye witness of their confession. Everyone was clapping, hooting and whistling. Avneil detached. While Neil was smiling, Avni went red seeing so many people and hugged Neil again. He chuckled and signalled everyone to provide them some privacy. Everyone left and Neil detached from Avni. He then wiped the traces of her tears and cupping her face, planted a soft kiss on her forehead and both eyes making her smile in utter pleasure.

N: Chl ab rona bnd kr. Classes bhi attend krni h abhi, hmm?

Avni nodded her head. She composed herself and smiled at him.

N: Chl, class ka time hone wala h.

He walked but she didn't. He turned and raised his eyebrows asking what.

A: Aankhein tumhari ho,
     Aansu hmare ho,
    Tere sang hi umr daraaz ho!

Neil smiled at her while she took his hands in hers.

A: Aankhein tumhari ho,

    Tere hi sajde me jhuke ye sar
    Tere Naam mera kl, mera aaj ho!

She went on her toes and kissed his forehead making him close his eyes with soft tears adoring his cheeks.

A: Mohabbat ko teri gehna bna k pehnu
     Tujhse hi puja, tujhse namaaz ho!
     Aur kya mangu ya Khudaya tujhse
     Aisa Anmol tohfa zindagi bhr ka diya tune,
     Ki ab to tere shukriya me hi, mere lab se Nikla hr alfaaz ho!

Neil closed his eyes smiling the best smile while Avni just smiled seeing him.

A: Ab chl.

She walked forward while Neil ruffled his hairs blushing. But then he remembered something and called out to Avni.

N: Avu!

She turned and raised her eyebrows. He ran till her standing in front of her.

A: Kya?

N: Tujhse ek bahut important baat khni thi.

A: Ha bol, m sun rhi hu.

He leaned a bit towards her ears while she was waiting for him to tell.

N: M ek cheez to bolna hi bhul gya. Maine pucha tu Nobita ki Shizuka, Romeo ki Juliet, Neilu ki Avu bnegi, but m ye to puchna hi bhool gya ki kya tu hmare bachho ki maa bnegi 🤭?

Avni's eyes widened with cheeks flushed beetroot red. Neil chuckled seeing her.

A: Huh!😳

N: Ha?

A(blushing profusely): Nhi.....I mean....vo....

N: Tu ye, ye vo chod, shaadi se pehle bs Neela ma se chant puchke aana.

A: Chant🤨?

N: Ha chant. Vhi jo tune bachpan me mujhe btaya tha.

A: Neilu, kaisa chant? Vo to......

She understood what he meant to say. She couldn't go more red in utter shyness. She tried opening her mouth many times to say something but words didn't form.

N: Ha to tu puchke aana ha? Kyuki I've decided hm chant se hi babies krenge, mujhe babies kharidne nhi h😉.

He winked at her and kissed her cheek making her widen her eyes if more was even possible and walked from there. She hid her face in her hands blushing for sometime then looked at Neil who was happily walking.

A(shouting): Neilu!

Neil turned and shouted back.

N: Kya?

A: I'll always protect.

N: What?

A: Our "Innocent Love"❤️!

Neil smiled to the fullest spreading his arms. Avni ran and threw herself in his arms. He held her by her waist and lifted her above the ground twirling. Her giggles were his greatest treasure.
