Neil came home excited that evening. He had good news to share with his family. But the first person he wanted to tell was avni. Avni wasn't back home and bebe and shweta could make out that he was very excited

Bebe- kya baat hai tillu? Bada khush lag raha hai

Neil- kuch nahi bebe...aisa toh kuch nahi hai he said but unable to keep the excitement and anticipation out of his voice

Shweta- kuch baat toh zarur hai! Apni maa ko bhi nahi batayega tillu?

Just then avni walked in and greeted everybody.

The minute he saw her, neil's smile grew. HE wanted to pull her to their room and spill the beans immediately but he contained himself till she freshened up.

So as avni walked up to their room, neil also quickly excused himself and followed her. She had gone to use the bathroom and neil was pacing in the room waiting for her to come out

A very LONG 15 minutes later when avni walked out, neel immediately pulled her to the bed and made her sit down

Avni- kya hua neel? You look like you're on the edge...whats up?

Neel- I have some news

Avni- ok she said giving him her full undivided attention

Neel handed her an envelope

Avni opened it, took out a letter and quickly scanned its contents and as she read it he could see her smile grow and when she looked up at him she straight away pulled him into a hug and said-

Neel, congratulations!!! I'm so so happy for you! and she rained down loud kisses on his face in her excitement!

She let go of him for a moment, just looked into his eyes and then hugged him once more with another squeal- I'm so proud of you! I'm now the wife of Mr.DCP!

Neel chuckled at her enthusiasm. He was happy about his promotion but seeing avni's reaction and sharing this good news with her had made this even more memorable for him. Success always tasted sweet but it was sweeter with avni by his side to share the news with. He felt a greater sense of accomplishment because this news made her happy and proud!

Avni- ghar main sabko bataya? This is HUGE! We need to celebrate! Main neelama ko phone karti hoon...she'll be so happy to hear this! She rattled off

Neil-relax wifey...take a breath!

Avni just beamed at him and held one of his hands in her own and placed a kiss on it.

Neel was on cloud nine too!

Avni- accha chalo, lets tell mom, dad and bebe. Aaj toh kaafi melodrama hoga she said with a wink at him.

Haan chalo. And just as neil and her were about to exit the room, avni said- wait wait wait. Tum chalo. Main 2 minute main aayi. Just call everyone but wait for me also. I wanna be there when you tell them

Neil- tum bhi saath chalo na.

Avni- neel don't argue, just listen to me. Go down. I'm coming in 2

So neil went down and called out for his parents and bebe and they were all waiting around in the dining room when he heard avni also come down the stairs

Neil- I have some good news- he announced. I have been promoted to the rank of DCP!

Bebe, shweta also jumped in joy.

Bebe was immediately thanking every god aloud and shweta was in tears. Prakash ji had given him a hug and clap on the back

Bebe gave him a hug and said puttar, tu aise hi aage aur bahut tarakki kar she blessed him and quickly made her way to light the diya and do a quick pooja

Shweta was crying buckets of tears in happiness and she hugged neil so tight that he couldn't breathe!

Neil-ma ,please aap itna kas ke kyun pakad rahe ho!

Shweta- she slapped him playfully and said- chup kar tu! Mera tillu itna bada ho gaya...I'm so proud of you! ruko main mithai leke aati hoon she said and ran to the kitchen

when neel turned to look at Avni, he saw that she was holding the handycam!

Neel- tum ye sab record kar rahi ho?

Avni- of course neel! Mr.DCP don't state the obvious like this- she said cheekily. accha ye lo she said handing him her phone- neelama is on speaker.

Neelama- congratulations baccha! I'm so proud of you Neil! God bless you! Aise hi aage aur mehnat karo and bahut tarakki karo!

Neel- thank you ma.

Neelama- accha I know ki tum sab celebrate karne jaoge so I''ll talk to you later when I'm back ok

Neel- ma, I wish you were here too

Neelama- haan, I also really wish I was there but don't worry I'll come as soon as I wrap up my work here ok- and she hung up after that

Shweta came back with a sweet and made him eat it. Once she saw that avni was recording everything she gave a long spiel about how her tillu had grown up so fast with lots of senti dialogues. Then bebe came in and interrupted and said- oh Madonna, ja tu nazar utarne ke liye samaan le aa.

Neil was now embarrassed at all the hullabulloo that was going on and the fact that avni was recording it too!

Neil- bebe, maa...iss sab ki kya zarurat

Bebe- tu chup kar! And shut him off

After nazar removal and such when finally everyone had quietened down they enjoyed a nice family dinner.

Later that night-

Neel- why did you record and all avni? Its not that big

Avni- It is HUGE! And I want to capture all the big moments in our life from now on so that someday fursat se we can look back on all these memories!

Neil just pulled her into a side hug and said- thank you!

Avni- huh? Why are you thanking me

Neil- just for being there he said simply. You know when I found out about it you were the first person I wanted to tell! I'm happier that now I have you also to share my success and happiness with!

Avni had happy tears in her eyes hearing this confession and wrapped her arms around him

The next day at work Neel was in for many surprises. First thing in the morning he saw a big bouquet of flowers on his desk. It had no note but he had some idea who could be behind it. He tried calling avni but she just texted him saying she was in a meeting.

Then later in the day, he got a box of chocolates delivered again with no note

Late afternoon, vada pav was delivered at his desk from his fav joint across the road near the station

And finally just as he got ready to leave the station and left outside to the parking, he saw avni leaning against the car waiting for him with a smile

Neil quickly walked up to her and hugged her and whispered a thank you!

Avni- accha ek last surprise hai. Now that you are mr. DCP you'll be busier and you'll be more stressed out so I have something which will hopefully make you feel lighter and better whenever you are upset/low.

And she held out a package for him

When he opened it he saw that it was a glass pickle jar with decorated with ribbons and some glitter with lots of colored chits of paper inside it. It also had a small number lock on it. He looked up at avni confused-

Avni- indicated to him to read the note attached to the jar on the outside

It read: Dear Neil, This jar contains 100 chits of paper- with 100 things I love about you/ reasons I love you! I hope you can keep it on your desk and everytime ur stressed out- this will make you smile or remind you how awesome you are! Love, Avni P.S: Don't open it all at once! And the code for the lock is 143.

Neil was rendered speechless. This was probably the best gift he had ever received in his entire lifetime! He placed the jar on top of the car and pulled her in for a hug. He was too choked up to say anything and avni understood his emotions.

When he let go, he picked up the jar and put in the code to open it and picked up the first chit which read -

You are my superman!

Neil just smiled at her and went to pick up another chit but avni held his hand and said- that's all for now. You can read the rest later!

Neil pouted at her but avni quickly turned away and said- no no, don't pull this face on me!

Neil- ok fine! I'll see it one at a time later.

Avni- good, now go keep it on your desk and come.

Neil- obediently did so but as he was placing it on his desk he quickly sneaked in a look at 2 more chits. He was reaching out for the third when he felt avni swat his hand away. She quickly closed the jar and locked it and dragged him back home with her.
