Avni was missing from jail for three days.   Neil was worried.  He hadn't heard from her, nor did Ali or Neela Ma.  She had promised that she would not escape from jail.  He had even interogated Vidyut, but no luck.  Nobody knew where Avni was.  He had asked the Commissioner to check out the jail, and the Commissioner agreed to come along with  Vidyut who had insisted to come along with them.  When they had arrived, they saw that the Ragini Pandit, was whipping another inmate.   The whole atmosphere of the jail had changed.   

"What is going on here?" yelled the Commissioner.

"Nothing" stammered the Jailor.  "Sir, you hadn't mentioned that you were gonna visit.  I would have made arrangements.  The inmates are putting on a play"

"Liar!" said Sunehri

"You have made this jail Hell for us along with Ragini Pandit.   Sir, ever since they have come here, this jail is not safe for us inmates."

"Constables, grab the Jailor and Ragini Pandit.    We need to find out what has happened to Avni Khanna.  We will need to talk to everyone"

"Sir, she had run away from jail, just like she did before" said the Jailor

"Liar!!  Sir,  she has been buried alive."  said Sunehri.

"What!" yelled Neil and Vidyut together.

"Elaborate"  said the Commissioner.

"The wall behind the Jailor's desk in her office.   The brick wall has been put up by Ragini Pandit"

"Shut your dirty mouth!!  Or I will shut it for you" yelled Ragini Pandit.

"DD, grab your men, and go into the Jailor's room , tear down that wall.  Quickly!!!  I will join you in a few moments."  yelled Neil.

"Sunehri, please tell me everything. "  said Neil

"Sir, that Ragini Pandit and the Jailor have buried her alive between the walls.   I had told Avni Di to leave and escape from here as we had overheard them making the plan. We even had the opportunity, but she had refused to leave.   Avni Di said she trusted Neil Sir.  She didn't want to be the cause of any hardships for Neil Sir.   She loves him immensley.   She said if she had to give up her life for Neil Sir, she would.  As long as he would be safe.    Said without Neil there is no Avni."

"What!!" yelled Neil and Vidyut together.

"What have you done, Momoni?

"Shut up!!! "  yelled Ragini Pandi.

"Ragini Pandit, you are running out of chances.  Just because you are the MLA's mother does not mean anything. "

Meanwhile, Neil grabbed Vidyut's collar and said "If anything happened to my Avni, there will be no place for you and your mother to hid.  I will never leave either one of you.  I sent my wife to jail knowing that she was innocent.  I knew either you or your men were the ones to kill Juhi.  You had blackmailed me so either I send my wife to jail or I send her to you to be your Mistress. You had kidnapped Neela Ma, to control her.  You and your mother have crossed all limits.   Now watch what I will do!" as he pushed Vidyut away from him and ran into the jailor's room.

After awhile, they had found Avni behind the wall, tied up and unconscious.  Neil quickly grabbed her and untied her.  "DD, quickly let's get her to the hospital!"

"Hurry up, Neil" said the Commissioner.

As Neil and DD left with Avni to go to the hospital.

"I'm sorry, Sir, but you are not allowed anywhere this case.  If we find out that you had anything to do with this incident, you will be punished along with your mother and the Jailor.  Now take them to the station.  I will be there shortly.  I am going to see how Mrs. Khanna is doing first." said the Commissioner.

Avni was still unconscious when she was taken in by the doctors, DD had informed the family, soon the Khannas, Neela Ma, Nanno, Ali and Sheru's gang had arrived at the hospital.  

The doctor comes out after afew hours, and said "Mrs. Khanna is fine.  She has responded well to the treatment. We will know more when she wakes up.   But her initial reports look well."

Neil looked up and saw that Vidyut and Ballu were in the waiting room, along with the Commissioner.

"Why have you come here?  What more can you do to us?  What are you gonna take now?" asked Neil

"I am not here to take anything.  I am here to see if Avni is alright?" said Vidyut

"Why?  How much pain will my Avni will thru because of you and your mother?" asked Neil

"What do you mean?" asked Vidyut

"Well, Ballu kidnapped Avni and took her to Rang Mahal.  He didn't get charged.  Your mother tried to sell her, nothing really happened.  Just a slap on her wrist.  She is framed for Juhi's murder and she is sent to jail, cause her husband's hands were tied.  She escapes out of jail to save her husband life and she is punished for it.  She gets buried alive and nothing will happen.  So Sir, what are you gonna do now?" asked Neil.

"Neil, nothing like that will happen.  We will make sure the culprits are punished.  We will make sure of it" said the Commissioner.

"No, Sir.  Not we, just you.   I am resigning.   And Avni is not going back to jail.    The evidences that we collected have been processed and sent to the correct personnel.     They have made their way to the Supreme Court Judge and we have sent a copy to the opposition leaders.  What they do with the info is not my problem.   My only concern was Avni.  And we have received the news that she has been released.   So, my resignation is effective immediately.  My family will leave Mumbai, as soon as Avni is okay to travel."  said Neil

"No Neil.  The police force needs you!"  said the Commissioner.

"No Sir, the law is unjust.  I joined the police force to help people.  I had enjoyed it.  But this last year, we have corrupted police officers,  people getting away with crime.   All I see is helplessness.  Mine.  My wife, whom I love immensley, is fighting for her life.   For me.   She will go any length to protect me.  And I will go any length to protect her.    And we still failed.   Vidyut had his men bury me alive, and his mother did the same to my wife.  All the law will do nothing cause there is no evidence or the witnesses will be bought.   I just want to live a simple life with Avni.   I am tired, she is tired.  Do you know that she has been fighting since she has been born.  She has been thru numerous murder attempts.  She has been kidnapped, her grandmother along with Ragini Pandit tried to sell her.  And now she is an object of obession"  said Neil

"I love her!"  yelled Vidyut.

"Love her!  What do you know of love.    You don't frame someone that you love.  What do you know of her."

"What do you mean?" asked Vidyut

"The reason for your obession, is that she looked you in the eye without fear.   What do you know of women.   All you dealt with women that have been kidnapped, raped or sold.  You have traumatized women.   My Avni, family is everything for her.  Her family, our family.  She even won my mother.  She had promised me that one day that my mother would love her more than me.  And she proved me true.   You tried to take her mother away from her.  She hates you and your mother for your deeds.   You've kidnapped your own daughter and kept her a prisoner.  Your own daughter hates you.  And I agree!!!  When a person is like a leech or a mosquito, they will be alone with no one to love them.  But if you have money, you will still have men like Ballu in your life.  But for how long?" asked Neil

"What do you mean?" asked Vidyut

"When you run out of money, where will you be?" asked Neil

"Excuse me, is there a Neil here?"  asked a nurse coming out of Avni's room.

"Me.  How is my Avni?" asked Neil

"She is awake and asking for you?"  said the nurse

Neil ran into the room.  Then stopped, he looked at Avni.  With her bruises, and tubes and wires all around her, she still was the most beautiful women to him.

"Neil" whispered Avni

"Avni" Neil quickly grabbed her hand, bent down and quickly gave a swift kiss on her lips.  He hadn't even noticed that everyone had walked into the room.

"Neil, are you okay?" whispered Avni.

"I am fine.  Your are the one that I am worried about.  Look at you?"  

"I am fine, Neil.  When Neil is around, nothing can happen to Avni.  Remember without Neil, there is no Avni."

"Yes!" cried Neil.

"Sorry, Mrs. Khanna.  I just have one question to ask now.  The rest can wait till you are better."  asked the Commissioner

"Sure Sir" answered Avni.

"Do you know who did this to you?"  asked the Commissioner

"Yes, Ragini Pandit and Jailor Madam." said Avni.

"Ok.  Thank you.  Hope you feel better."  The Commissioner left the room.

"Neil, Neela Ma and Misthy?"  asked Avni

"They are fine" said Neil

"Yes, Bacha.  We are fine." said Neela Ma

"Ma!"  cried Avni

"Don't worry about us.  Just get  better, so we can take you home."  said Neela Ma

"Home?" asked Avni

"Yes, Avni Beta.  Home"  said Shweta

"Neil?" looking towards Neil

"Yes.  You are finally free.  After this, it's just you, me and our family."

"I can come home with you" wondered Avni

Neil gently hugged Avni and said"Yes, Avni, we can go home"

Nobody even noticed when Vidyut and Ballu left.  

Finally, happiness had come back to the Khanna household.
