The beauty of Italy.

The screen of my phone couldn't do justice to the spectacular landscape. I imagined myself wandering the streets, marvelling at the towering buildings, the vibrant street scenes, and the elegant architecture.

Italy was just truly beautiful.

I had watched countless movies, and seen dozens of stunning pictures, of the glorious country. Settling in Italy was my lifelong dream.

I had worked hard to get the scholarship, all without relying on parent's money.

All of it was for the sake of my dream - moving to Italy.

I intently studied, and fought hard to achieve my academic goals. No amount of difficulty or obstacle could stop me from achieving my dream.

"Baby sis, done with your homework yet?"

My older step-brother, the true-to-the-core Englishman, walked into my room without a knock.

I glanced up, before laying my phone on the table and getting up to stretch my shoulders.

"Can't bring myself to study with my step-bro around."

As I looked up, the man saunters towards me, his smug grin annoying me to no end.

"Hah, bet you couldn't resist this stunningly handsome man of yours anymore?"

His smug tone and self-satisfied smirk, sent shivers down my spine. I scoffed, and rolling my eyes.

"Crazy bastard," I grumbled, as he laughed, and hooked his fingers on my shoulders from behind.

"Downstairs, baby sis. Mom and dad wanna talk to you."

I yanked my shoulders out of his grasp. Frowning. The seriousness of his tone sent a shiver down my spine. Something must've happened. Immediately, I gathered my school items in the drawer and hurried downstairs.

"Mom, dad, what's going on?"

I was worried, dragging the chair out and sitting down at the table.
Mom, Mrs. Beck, sighed deeply, before looking at me.

"Della, do you really have to go to Italy?"
I opened my eyes in surprise, slowly nodding my head.

"That's my dream."

"But darling, we have matched you with Mr. Egbert's grandson. Can't you try that ou-"

Before she could finish, I stood up and slammed the table.

"Mom!" I muttered fiercely, "This is the fifth time this month that you have stopped me from going to Italy! And I've missed several flights already! Just what is the matter now?"

My blood ran hot inside me, as I continued to rant.

"What a waste of time this year is! I have taken so many extra classes and extra tutors, and now you're telling me that I can't go?"

Mom just looked at me, unable to meet my gaze, as I continued to rage at her.

"Della, your father and I love you very much," she finally speaks, "but over there, you will be all alone, with practically no one to back you up-"

"So what?"

I glared, letting my ire seep through my words.

"Are you saying that I'm not smart enough to take care of myself? I know how to be independent! I know how to survive! What am I, a child who needs to be held by the hand all the time?"

My anger issues. I lost count the number of times I had lost it, and screamed at my parents.

Now I lay in my bed, the blanket covering my face, thinking back to the harsh words I had said earlier. In the end, they just wanted what was best for me.

But that is my dream, my motivation to study. So this time, I was going to break the rules and not follow what my parents want.

I nagged and begged, till finally my parents agreed, with one condition - they would finance my living costs and tuition fees, although I had declined at first as I thought it would be too much money for me to handle.

At present, I was at the airport. And the cold weather of London was biting at my skin, so I had to wrap my coat, scarf and hat around me. My parents were concerned for me, even though I was 15 years old and fully capable of taking care of myself.

"My darling, when you get there, make sure to call us." My mom spoke, holding me in a tight hug. I nodded my head, slowly letting go of her.

"Goodbye mom, dad. And, Belvis," I added, waving at my stubborn step-brother. He nodded at me, smiling in his smug way.
