Ruhana and Rajat visit the music academy to talk to the owner, Mr. Dilip Sharma, who’s a fast friend of Rakesh. Mr. Dilip doesn’t have any information regarding any cases on which Inspector Rakesh Awasthi was working. However, they find a man lingering near Dilip’s cabin. Ruhana remembers that he was lingering nearby when they came for interrogation earlier. As the two storm out of the cabin, Ruhana leans toward Rajat, sharing her observation.

“Rajat, I suspect this man. Pichhle aadhe ghante se ye Dilip ji ke office ke aas paas hi safai kar raha hai. Mujhe lagta hai yeh hamari baatein sun raha hai, aur zaroor Rakesh ji ke baare mein bhi kuch jaanta hai.” Ruhana says, her tone casting urgency.

“Maine isey Rakesh Awasthi ke ghar ke aas paas bhi dekha tha, shayad Dilip ji ke saath ye wahan bhi aaya tha. Chalo isse baat karte hain.” Rajat suggests.

Ruhana nods, and meanwhile, when the cleaner passes by them, Rajat stops him, and the color on the cleaner’s face fades. Maybe he anticipated it. Ruhana then peers at him.

“Tum Rakesh Awasthi ko jaante ho?”

“Han, madam, wo yahan roj aate the, na. Bade sahab ke saath baithte the wo.” The cleaner replies, his tone filled with fear.

“Achha, aur tum kal unke ghar ke bahar kya kar rahe the?” Rajat questions, his tone carrying urgency.

“Saab, wo toh main Dilip Saab ke saath aaya tha, aur aap ye sab kyun puch rahe ho?” The cleaner asks hesitantly.

“Kyunki, mujhe lagta hai ki tum kuch chhupa rahe ho, aur ab tumhe wo baat hume bata deni chahiye, varna tumhare sath kya hoga, ye main bhi nahi jaanti.” Ruhana threatens him.

“Nahi, madam, main kuch nahi jaanta. Main toh Rakesh ji ko theek se jaanta bhi nahi hoon. Mujhe kaise pata hoga ki wo kab kya karte hain.” The man says.

“Achha, toh hamari baatein kyun sun rahe the? Itna toh tum jaante hi ho ki wo ek retired police wale the, yahan apna waqt bitaane aate the.” Rajat says, staring at him.

The cleaner doesn’t respond but begins to look around. By now, Rajat and Ruhana are sure that this cleaner, Shyam, is involved in Rakesh’s murder. Rajat reaches out to Shyam and pulls out a small packet that he’s been observing. It turns out to be the rare chemical, thallium.

“Achha, agar tum Rakesh ji ko nahi jaante toh iska kya karne wale ho? Aur ye tumhe mila kaha se? Aur mujhe sach sunna hai, Shyam!” Rajat asks, his tone stern, leaving no room for lies.

“Bolo Shyam? Tum ye chemical ke sath kya karne wale ho? Kya tumne Rakesh ji ko zeher diya?” Ruhana asks, her tone soft yet firm.

“Maine wahi kiya, jo mujhe kaha gaya, madam! Mujhe nahi pata tha, isse unki maut ho jayegi…”

“Ek aadmi ne mujhe ye diya tha aur kaha tha ki jab bhi wo sahab aaye, toh main unke instruments pe isey laga dun…Mujhe aur kuch nahi pata, sahab.” Shyam begins to cry.

“Oh, aur kitne paise diye usne tumhe?” Rajat asks, knowing the deal.

“Saab, usne mujhe 1 lakh rupaye diye the…mera beta beemar hai, Saab, mujhe paise chahiye the, toh maine uska kaam kar diya…” Shyam replies, crying.

Rajat arrests him on the spot, and they head out of the music academy to retrieve the money and look for any other clues. Now that they have Shyam in custody, they’re closer to catching the culprit.

On the other hand, in Rakesh’s house, Vineet is in the master bedroom, and at the same time, Nikhil, Purvi, and Freddy enter the room, reporting that they couldn’t find anything.

“Yahan toh kuch bhi nahi hai, Vineet. Kaise pata lagayenge ki Rakesh ji ki maut kaise hui?” Freddy asks, exasperated and tired.

“Freddy Sir, kuch toh milega, aap zara wo study table check karenge?” Vineet asks politely, and the man agrees.

Vineet sits on the bed to check the table and finds an old diary nestled in the drawer. He picks it up and begins to read. It turns out to be a journal containing details of illegal activities and transactions in the country. The journal records all the cases registered since Mr. Rakesh was on duty. His eyes fall on one entry dated three months back. He squeals with joy.

“Freddy Sir, mil gaya clue! Aap udaas mat hoiye. Ye dekhiye…” Saying so, Vineet forwards the ledger toward Freddy.

“Arey! Ye toh 3 mahine pehle ka hai. Vo Inspector Vikram, vo keh raha tha na ki Rakesh ji uski madad kar rahe the, ye wahi case lagta hai.” Freddy says.

“Haan, Sir, aur humne Vikram ji se kaha tha ki wo us case ki details hume bhej de…” Purvi intervenes, clearing the tension.

“Iska matlab hai ki ye jo bhi gang hai, inko khabar mili hogi ki police ya Rakesh ji unke peeche hai. Aur sabko pata hai, Rakesh ji ne bade bade gangs ko expose kiya hai.” Vineet says, his face mirroring the worries of his colleagues.

“Haan, Vineet, tu thik keh raha hai. Chalo, bureau chalte hain, phir dekhte hain kya karna hai. Ruhana aur Rajat bhi toh wapas laut aaye honge…” Freddy says, and the others agree.

Giving the diary to Purvi, the team makes their way out of the house and soon drives to the bureau. However, since the night has darkened, everyone decides to call it a day and meet the next day to take the case further.

Lifeline Hospital

Suhanika wakes up only to find her sister fast asleep, the tension in the air palpable. The nurse is checking her vitals and her lips curve into a small smile as she looks at Suhanika. Before Suhanika can ask anything, the nurse assures her that Anamika will wake up soon. She kisses her knuckles.

“Anu, uth ja, aise toh mat sata, please. Please wake up. Tu ek baar mujhse baat kar le, main teri saari shikayat door kar dungi. Par ek baar baat toh kar..” Suhanika says, her eyes brimming with tears.

“She will wake up in a few hours, Suhanika. Don’t worry.” It’s Dr. Salunkhe who has come to check on Anamika.

“Sir, puri raat beet gayi, aapko toh pata hai na ek yahi meri family hai…isey kuch ho gaya tha toh?” She asks, fear evident in her tone.

“Main keh raha hoon na, bache, sab thik ho jayega.” He says while checking Anamika’s vitals.

Suhanika opens the curtains, and as the sunrays fall on Anamika’s face, she stirs in her place. Slowly, she opens her eyes, trying to adjust her view. Dr. Salunkhe smiles at her and asks her well-being. She nods weakly, and the doctor comes to do her checkup. Finishing her checkup, the doctor turns to Suhanika, assuring her that her sister is fine.

“Suhanika, shaam tak tum apni behen ko ghar le jaa sakti ho. Bas kuch davaiyan leni hongi isey, baaki sab dheere dheere heal ho jayega.” The doctor says.

“Jee Sir, aur phir Salunkhe Sir hai, wo bhi check kar lenge.” Suhanika looks at the old doctor who nods positively.

“Sir, mujhe abhi ghar jaana hai, aur kya hua tha?” Anamika asks, ignoring her sister’s presence.

“Tum behosh ho gayi thi, ek chemical ka asar tha par ab tum theek ho..” Dr. Salunkhe taps her head.

She is further told that she inhaled thallium and it is the reason she ended up in the hospital. However, she’s glad to go home that evening. The doctor leaves, leaving Suhanika to have a conversation with Anamika. The former turns toward her baby sister.

“Anu, tu thik hai na? Kaisa lag raha hai?” Anamika asks, her tone laced with concern.

“Aapko chinta karne ki zaroorat nahi hai, Di. Main bilkul thik hoon.” Anamika replies, her tone rude.

“Ana, dekh, main jaanti hoon tu mujhse gussa hai, par tu mujhse baat toh kar, aise gussa karne ka toh koi fay

da nahi hai.” Suhanika says, her tone conveying desperation.

“Di, isse koi farak nahi padta, agar padta toh aap uss din zidd na karti.” Anamika snaps at her sister.

“It’s all because of you, aapne na sab kuch bigaad diya, isliye aap apni jhoothi concerns mat dikhaao mujhe.” Anamika says, her words pinching deep in Suhanika’s heart.

Suhanika still tries to talk, but Anamika shushes her. Meanwhile, Ruhana and Vineet visit the hospital. They’re glad to find Anamika awake and fine. Ruhana hugs the girl carefully and asks her to take care. Meanwhile, while addressing Ruhana, Anamika says something that leaves the other three stunned, while the girl had her eyes fixed on her sister only.
