P R O L O G U E | Kill John

'She wore a smile

like a loaded gun'

"DO THE HONOURS, McCOY. " I slid my finger across the cigarette, slightly hovering the pad of my thumb over the lit part of the cigarette attempting to touch the silent flames of the cylindrical tube.

His light brown hair spilled over his sweaty forehead and he wiped it off with the back of his dirt stained cuffs. "Sav-" I interrupted him with a hand.

"Don't." I told him off.

His head turned to the figure by my armchair, standing tall and stern. She had learnt to hide her emotions quite well. The expressions on his face contorted into fear and something more obvious- hurt.

I raised my hand and in a wave like motion, twirled my fingers. Another figure in the distance on noticing my gesture, nodded and than came closer. She was dragging a long metal rod, her expressions grim. "Go ahead," I gave her the invitation.

Cocking my head to the girl beside me, I offered her a grin. "It will soon be over, McCoy."

McCoy slightly shut her eyes, scrunching up her eyelids. My head shook with quiet laughter when the metal rod was pulled back and slammed through his chest. Screams of pain rang throughout the basement. Leaning back, I finally noticed the condensation of the cool glass of cocktail. "I want to see more pain," I told her. She pulled back the rod again and slammed it into his shoulders.

I love cocktail.

"More," I ordered, my smile wavering off. "I want to see his pain in physical form."

"S-Sorry," he panted out, his eyes watering. "Holly, I'm sorry," he exclaimed out in pain. Holly McCoy gulped, unable to look at his pain. Clenching my fists, I shot up from the armchair and knelt down in front of the little bastard that had the audacity to play with our Holly and than pull this stunt.

"Don't talk to her!" I roared, my hand making contact with his jawline. His head cocked to another side. "She is our sister and because of your stupid and childish attitude, you broke her heart and now you will pay for it." I hissed down at him.

Then I flicked my wrist. "Continue, Cora."

Droning out his agonising screams, I held onto Holly's free hand and begin to drag her out of the basement. She had seen enough. She won't be able to stomach the latter part.

As soon as Holly turned her head away, I mouthed a few sentences at Cora. "Kill him."

Cora obediently nodded.

As soon as we were out, she bursted out in tears. "Even after everything, I still love him. Oh, Savannah."

Disgust ran through me and I shook my head. "He cheated on you," I hissed, my anger taking the best of me. "He doesn't deserve an ounce of kindness, dumbass. Now shut up."

Taking it to my mouth, I placed it in between my lips and let Holly cry for the one who cheated on her and broke her heart multiple times.

Weak. Useless.

"Take a grip, Holls. That fucker ruined you and you're still producing tears for the boy being killed inside."

"...but I love him." She said to me in such a way that it felt like an answer to every question asked in the universe.

I narrowed my eyes. "Don't break the sisterhood."

She immediately closed her mouth and composed herself, although I could see tears flashing on her pale skin.

"No love is important for you than your love for your sisters," I heard her quietly reciting this. Contentment filled me up and I patted her shoulders. "Good. If I ever see you crying for a boy again, I will personally hurt that boy right in front of your eyes. Understand, Holland?"

"Never break the sisterhood," she mumbled, her eyes casted downwards.

As soon as she said this, I folded my arms against my chest and strutted inside the basement to clean off the mess. I could swear that Holly had started to cry again after I had gone back inside.

"No love is important for you then your love for your sisters."

I stared at this quote for the longest time before turning my head away from it.
