Professor Dumbledore sent all the Gryffindors back to the Great Hall, where they were joined ten minutes later by the students from Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, who all looked extremely confused. "The teachers and I need to conduct a thorough search of the castle," Professor Dumbledore told them as Professors McGonagall and Flitwick closed all doors into the hall. "I'm afraid that, for your own safety, you will have to spend the night here. I want the prefects to stand guard over the entrances to the hall and I am leaving the Head Boy and Girl in charge. Any disturbance should be reported to me immediately," he added to Percy, who was looking immensely proud and important. "Send word with one of the ghosts." Professor Dumbledore paused, about to leave the hall, and said, "Oh, yes, you'll be needing..."

One casual wave of his wand and the long tables flew to the edges of the hall and stood themselves against the walls; another wave, and the floor was covered with hundreds of squashy purple sleeping bags.
"Sleep well," said Professor Dumbledore, closing the door behind him. The hall immediately began to buzz excitedly; the Gryffindors were telling the rest of the school what had just happened. "Everyone into their sleeping bags!" shouted Percy. "Come on, now, no more talking! Lights out in ten minutes!"

"We can hear you Percy we're not deaf" Rigel said to him earning him a death glare from the prefect. "C'mon," Ron said to Harry and Hermione and Rigel; they seized four sleeping bags and dragged them into a corner. "Do you think Black's still in the castle?" Hermione whispered anxiously. "Dumbledore obviously thinks he might be," said Ron.

"It's very lucky he picked tonight, you know," said Hermione as they climbed fully dressed into their sleeping bags and propped themselves on their elbows to talk. "The one night we weren't in the tower..." Hermione continued.

"That's true who knows what could have happened" Rigel said. "It's scary to think about it" he lied down on his sleeping mat.

"I reckon he's lost track of time, being on the run," said Ron. "Didn't realize it was Halloween. Otherwise he'd have come bursting in here." Hermione shuddered.

All around them, people were asking one another the same question: "How did he get in?"

"Maybe he knows how to Apparate," said a Ravenclaw a few feet away, "Just appear out of thin air, you know."
"Disguised himself, probably," said a Hufflepuff fifth year. "He could've flown in," suggested Dean Thomas.
"Honestly, am I the only person who's ever bothered to read Hogwarts, A History?" said Hermione crossly to Harry and Rigel and Ron.
"Probably," said Ron. "Why?"

"Because the castle's protected by more than walls, you know," said Hermione. "Yeah There are all sorts of enchantments on it, to stop people entering by stealth. You can't just Apparate in here. And i doubt any  disguise that could fool those Dementors. They're guarding every single entrance to the grounds. They'd have seen him fly in too. And Filch knows all the secret passages, they'll have them covered..." Rigel said

"The lights are going out now!" Percy shouted. "I want everyone in their sleeping bags and no more talking!"
The candles all went out at once. The only light now came from the silvery ghosts, who were drifting about talking seriously to the prefects, and the enchanted ceiling, which, like the sky outside, was scattered with stars. What with that, and the whispering that still filled the hall,

Rigel tried to make himself comfortable in his sleeping bag but it was hard. He never found sleeping bags comfortable that's why he never went camping he hated it. He started to stare up at the star ceiling and began to gaze at the stars

It didn't take long after that for him to eventually fall asleep and wondered what would he dream of tonight. As he began to fall asleep he thought he heard talking going on

...............................................................
The school talked of nothing but Sirius Black for the next few days. The theories about how he had entered the castle became wilder and wilder; Hannah Abbott, from Hufflepuff, spent much of their next Herbology class telling anyone who'd listen that Black could turn into a flowering shrub.
The Fat Lady's ripped canvas had been taken off the wall and replaced with the portrait of Sir Cadogan and his fat gray pony. Nobody was very happy about this. Sir Cadogan spent half his time challenging people to duels, and the rest thinking up ridiculously complicated passwords, which he changed at least twice a day.

"He's a complete lunatic," said Seamus Finnigan angrily to Percy. "Can't we get anyone else?"

"None of the other pictures wanted the job," said Percy. "Frightened of what happened to the Fat Lady. Sir Cadogan was the only one brave enough to volunteer."

As the first Qudditch match of the season drew closer the Gryffindor common room became more quiet. Riguel took this time to study for his O.W.L or read he even sometimes sewed new clothes.

Rigel was reading in the library about animagi. Ever since Professor McGonagall had shown her their transformation he was thinking about becoming one himself. it was at that moment he saw Professor McGonagall enter returning a book. "oh Professor McGonagall" he called out drawing her attention to herself. "what is it Mr Lestrange" Professor McGonagall asked the young wizard. "well ive been reading about Animagi and ive been thinking of becoming one" Rigel said. "is that so" the older witch asked slightly intrigued. Rigel nodded in response. "then I should tell you it is not easy to become one and it could be dangerous are you still interested" she asked seriously. "I am" Rigel said with equal seriousness in his voice. "very well then come with me" she said as she began to walk out with Rigel following behind her. once they entered her office she locked the door. Rigel was wondering what would happen. she saw her reach into her desk and took out a mandrake leaf. "this is the first step you place this mandrake leaf on your tounge and you must once every day say the spell Amato Animo Animato Animagus and place the tip of your wand over your heart do you understand" she asked. Rigel nodded in understanding. "I will notify your teachers you might have problems speaking and one more thing" she handed him a piece of parchment paper and a vile of something strange. "this is the recipe for the potion you need to drink during an electrical storm and the hardest ingredient needed for the potion and the potion needs to be kept in a dark quiet undisturbed place until their is a electrical storm which isnt for another few weeks" Professor McGonagall said. Rigel nodded in understanding and left to go and make the potion.

Rigel was sitting cross legged in moaning myrtles bathroom which was thankfully unoccupied it had taken him a while but he had finally made the potion correctly after he was done he put the potion in a vile and put the vial carefully into one of his robes pockets then left.

He went into his dormitory wrapped it carefully in some of his socks and placed it carefully in his trunk and closed the lid and rubbed his hands together in satisfaction and pride.

.............................................................

The day before the quidditch match, the winds reached howling point and the rain fell harder than ever. It was so dark inside the corridors and classrooms that extra torches and lanterns were lit. The Slytherin team was looking very smug indeed, and none more so than Malfoy.

Rigel like the rest of his classmates were shocked to learn that Professor Lupin wasn't teaching todays lesson but Professor Snape. He was off curious why Professor Snape was teaching instead of Professor Lupin but knew it was better to say nothing. 10 minutes into the class Harry had come in "Sorry I'm late, Professor Lupin. I --" he stopped at notching the teacher.

"This lesson began ten minutes ago, Potter, so I think we'll make it ten points from Gryffindor. Sit down." But Harry didn't move. "oh no" Rigel thought. "Where's Professor Lupin?" Harry said.

"He says he is feeling too ill to teach today," said Snape with a twisted smile. "I believe I told you to sit down?". But Harry stayed where he was. "What's wrong with him?" "shut up shut up" Rigel thought. Snape's black eyes glittered."Nothing life-threatening," he said, looking as though he wished it were. "Five more points from Gryffindor, and if I have to ask you to sit down again, it will be fifty."

Harry walked slowly to his seat and sat down. Snape looked around at the class. "As I was saying before Potter interrupted, Professor Lupin has not left any record of the topics you have covered so far --"

"Please, sir, we've done Boggarts, Red Caps, Kappas, and Grindylows," said Hermione quickly, "and we're just about to start --". "Be quiet," said Snape coldly. "I did not ask for information. I was merely commenting on Professor Lupin's lack of organization." "He's the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher we've ever had," said Dean Thomas boldly, and there was a murmur of agreement from the rest of the class. Snape looked more menacing than ever.

"You are easily satisfied. Lupin is hardly overtaxing you -- I would expect first years to be able to deal with Red Caps and Grindylows. Today we shall discuss " Snape began to flick of the back of the book."werewolves," said Snape. "But, sir," said Hermione, seemingly unable to restrain herself, "we're not supposed to do werewolves yet, we're due to start Hinkypunks --"

"Miss Granger," said Snape in a voice of deadly calm, "I was under the impression that I am teaching this lesson, not you. And I am telling you all to turn to page 394." He glanced around again. "All of you! Now!" With many bitter sidelong looks and some sullen muttering, the class opened their books. "Which of you can tell me how we distinguish between the werewolf and the true wolf?" said Snape. Everyone sat in motionless silence; everyone except Hermione and Rigel, whose hand, as it so often did, had shot straight into the air.

"Mr Lestrange i think you should let one of your mediocre classmates answer this one?" Snape said, ignoring Hermione. Rigel not sure why he ignored Hermione but lowered his hand down. Snape's twisted smile was back. "Are you telling me that only one of you knows the answer" at this Hermione basically stretched her arm out

"We told you," said Parvati suddenly, "we haven't got as far as werewolves yet". "and Lestrange is a book worm and a nerd" Lavender Brown said. at this Rigel had to stop Ron from going over to Lavender and dealing with it.

"Silence!" snarled Snape. "Well, well, well, I never thought I'd meet a third-year class who only one student could recognizes a werewolf and the rest of the class wouldn't even recognize a werewolf when they saw one. I shall make a point of informing Professor Dumbledore how very behind you all are..."

"Please, sir," said Hermione, whose hand was still in the air, "the werewolf differs from the true wolf in several small ways. The snout of the werewolf --"

"That is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger," said Snape coolly. "Five more points from Gryffindor for being an insufferable know-it-all."

Hermione went very red, put down her hand, and stared at the floor with her eyes full of tears. It was a mark of how much the class loathed Snape that they were all glaring at him, because every one of them had called Hermione a know-it-all at least once, and Rigel decided to speak up to Professor Snape. "Professor i think Hermione was just trying to make up for the fact that our class does not know very much about werewolf's expect us and she just got excited" Rigel said. "well i suppose your right Mr Lestrange but all the knowledge in the world wouldn't due a bit of luck to make up for this classes incompetence" he said. Rigel felt around his tongue to make sure that the mandrake leaf was safe after talking.

No one made a sound throughout the rest of the lesson. They sat and made notes on werewolves from the textbook, while Snape prowled up and down the rows of desks, examining the work they had been doing with Professor Lupin.

"Very poorly explained...That is incorrect, the Kappa is more commonly found in Mongolia...Professor Lupin gave this eight out of ten? I wouldn't have given it three..."

When the bell rang at last, Snape held them back.

"You will each write an essay, to be handed in to me, on the ways you recognize and kill werewolves. I want two rolls of parchment on the subject, and I want them by Monday morning. It is time somebody took this class in hand. Weasley, stay behind, we need to arrange your detention like we discus detention for your little to know effort in paying attention in your last potions class"

Harry and Hermione and Rigel left the room with the rest of the class, who waited until they were well out of earshot, then Harry burst into a furious tirade about Snape.

"Snape's never been like this with any of our other Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, even if he did want the job," Harry said to them. "Why's he got it in for Lupin? D'you think this is all because of the Boggart?"

"I don't know," said Hermione pensively. "But I really hope Professor Lupin gets better soon..."

Ron caught up with them five minutes later, in a towering rage.

"D'you know what that --" (he called Snape something that made Hermione say "Ron!" and Rigel giggle) "-- is making me do? I've got to scrub out the bedpans in the hospital wing. Without magic!" He was breathing deeply, his fists clenched. "Why couldn't Black have hidden in Snape's office, eh? He could have finished him off for us!"

..........................................................................................................................
At last it was the day of the quidditch match and the entire Gryffindor common room was excited. "I can't believe Slytherin was able to back out because their seeks injured" Ron said holding Rigels hand as they sat on the couch in the common room. "Well that's my cousin for you quite the actor gets it from his dad otherwise my uncle would be in Azkaban with my mom and dad and uncle" Rigel said. "That's true" Ron giggled. Rigel enjoyed times like this but it was harder to speak with the mandrakes leaf on his tounge. He told Ron he couldn't speak for a few weeks from a sore throat.

When it was finally time for the quidditch match Ron and Rigel kissed goodbye and he hugged Hermione. "Tell Harry I said good luck" Rigel said to them Due to him being confined to the castle he wasn't allowed to leave the castle grounds not that he minded today it looked like it was going to rain. "We will but I do wish you could come" Hermione said. "It's for his protection" Ron said smiling at his boy friend. "Ok let's go before you two start something" Hermione said dragging Ron out by his collar. As soon as they left Rigel went up to his dorm and took out the potion in his trunk and put in the mandrake leaf and a single hair into the mixture and left for the owlery tower where the students owls stayed and where the mail came in.

when he got there he looked out and saw the thunder rumbling. "It's now or never" he than drank the whole potion down until the glass vile was empty. As soon as he finished it he began to feel something inside him like something was awakening. Suddenly he began to shrank down and Rigel lifted his hand and saw a black feathered wing. He saw a shard of glass on the floor and looked at his reflection.

What he saw was not his usual self but a beautiful black swan. Just s quickly as he had changed into the swan he changed back. "Well it's official I am an animagus" he said proudly. After that he went back to the Gryffindor common room and decided to do a little reading while he waited for the others to come back

He waited and waited and he finished three books before deciding to see what was going on. He left the common room and decided to see what was going on.

He was passing the infirmary when he saw a large group of students in their. "Of course" he sighed and entered. "Alright what happened" Rigel asked walking over to Harry's bed. "Dementors interrupted the match and started going after Harry" Ron said. "Now I'm really glad I can't attend any quidditch match" Rigel said. Hermione sent him a disapproving look. "Ok ok bad choice of words" Rigel said sitting down. Rigel turned and what looked like the shattered remains of Harry's broom. "Take it that's Harry's vroom" Rigel pointed. They nodded. "The whomping willow" Rigel asked. "The whomping willow" Hermione nodded in agreement. "Today is really not your day Harry" Rigel said to him. "Tell me about it" Harry said
