We had a powwow a couple weeks back, which are always fun. Powwow topics can be many different kinds. Disney Princess, loving the new ballet studio, ballet etiquette, Mr S telling us Angles to make him proud and dance well and Mrs. V telling us girls what she was proud of us.
My Tuesday class is three hours long and it's a really good class we have a stretch class before hand and then we have 2 1/2 hours of technique/pointe class. In this class I get a lot of specific corrections that really help. Also when I do pointe sometimes Mrs V tells me things like couple weeks ago when she told me I needed to fix my pointe shoes because they had some strings which were dangerous. I mean she took out a bottle of Motrin to show me how to properly position my fingers which was really interesting. To be fair she says the bottle of Motrin is for her baby apparently likes playing with it. Mrs. V is the teacher who has us the longest. She doesn't tolerate talking but that's okay. She does have a couple pet peeves like when you're doing your turn from fourth position only your front leg can be bent. It's kind a hard to get used to but I finally have.
Anyways, back to the powwow. You see Mrs V went around in a circle telling us what she thought we had improved in. For me, she said something along the lines that she appreciated how I never seemed to give up and worked hard and then she went into say that she was still impressed that I could turn really well and she wouldn't have had me pegged for a turner. And honestly I have always been a turner, it's just taken me s while to transition from the bad hardwood floor at my old studio to the Marley. I love Marley.
