Gut feelings are guardian Angel

Neil had planned to get something for Tina if he wanted to attempt to make things work, but when he got there, he had no idea Avni would be there.

He knew it won't be easy to easily forget but small steps with a positive mind while keeping his family and Tina in the frame he managed to stay away from Avni. Even though it was challenging in one place, he felt like She was staring at him when he gave Tina the gift, but then he made himself believe that she wouldn't. Because things are very clear from her side, and they will soon become pretty clear from his. As long as he works on it.

He opened the window and allowed the cold breeze to hit his face. He was relieved that he was able to distract his mind with Bebe's giving him a nice head massage while spending time with her after returning from Tina's house, and not to mention Shweta's attempt to make him appear fresh with her homemade mask, which he thankfully was able to avoid.

He had to prepare himself for the engagement and keep his head clear, and while doing so, he fell asleep unknowingly.

Around 5 p.m., Shweta entered Neil's room and saw him asleep on the couch. She walked towards him and touched his head.

Shweta: Tillu, Tillu. Wake up beta. You need to freshen up. She said few times until Neil sat up while rubbing his eyes

Neil: What happened mom ? He said yawning a little.

Shweta: Tillu. You don't want to be late for your engagement, so come on, freshen up. She said with a wide smile on her face.

He completely forgot about his engagement till Shweta mentioned it.

Shweta sat down next to him on the couch when Neil looked at her. She gave a loving smile to him as she brushed his hair away from his forehead.

Neil: What happened, Mom? Shweta looked back at Neil, taking his hand in her own.

Shweta: I can't believe you'll be getting engaged beta. Now that the time is nearing, I never dreamed that after returning to India, we would be planning your wedding. Neil, Tina is a modern girl, yet she was raised in India. She genuinely respects and loves you and all of us. As you begin this new journey, I hope you both support each other as you take each step together. Understanding and respect is the foundations of love along with being there for each other. Tina has been raised with a lot of love, whether it was from her father or the Metha family. We need to make her feel like she's with her own family. Simply stay happy and keep her happy. Hmm. She said capping his cheek with her other hand.

Neil watched Shweta speak. He could see her eyes tear up as she shared her thoughts. He smiled at her, holding back his tears, lifting her hand and kissing it lightly.

Neil: I won't let you down Mom. His throat felling itchy due to the pain he was holding back.

Shweta: I know you won't, so come on, freshen yourself, and look your best, she commented before leaving the room.

Neil got up and went into the bathroom to freshen up.

15 minutes later, he wrapped his bathrobe around him. He walked out of the washroom and proceeded towards the wardrobe.
Opening it, he shifted a few hung items and was going to remove his sherwani, which got tangled on another hanger by accident. After detaching both pieces, he was ready to replace his shirt when he came to a halt.
Pulling the shirt out again, he held it up to his nose and inhaled it.

Neil: This perfume smells? I believe I have smelt this before, it's a girl's perfume, but how did the fragrance come on this shirt? Looking at the shirt, he remembered wearing it when he went to the club and drank When he went to freshen up that day, he must have accidentally put it back in the wardrobe once Shweta was done talking his measurements yesterday.

His eyes widened as he inhaled the smell again, this time for a little longer.

"Avni" he whispered.

Neil: She wore the same fragrance today. And I'm sure she had applied the same perfume several times.
That day, too, I told her to meet me in the car before heading to the club. Does this mean Avni stayed a bit a little longer that night? Even though the scent is faint, it is undoubtedly the same. That's a guarantee, but how can I find out more? Advay informed me that Avni left after dropping me off at his apartment. But then how do I clear my doubt? Are my thoughts right about something happening that night? Is that why I was getting those flashes?
How do I find out what exact time Avni had left? Maybe I should ask Advay again. But how shall I get his number? After a few seconds of thinking, he realised that one item would undoubtedly help him, so he quickly opened the Truecaller app.

Neil rubbed his lips as he paced back and forth, waiting for Advay to answer the phone.

Neil: Hey Advay. He said a little loudly once Advay picked up.

Advay: Yes?. Advay answered with a frown.

Neil: Neil's speaking. He said as he wasn't able to stop fidgeting

Advay: Neil?

Neil: Umm...Avni's fr.....

Advay: Oh yeah. Now I remember. Sorry i didn't realise it was you until you mentioned Avni.

Neil: No that's, that's fine....umm...If I am not interrupting you in something then can I ask you a question?

Advay: Yep sure.

Neil: When did Avni leave? I mean the time. From your place?

Advay: She left just after we dropped you off at my apartment. Remember, I told you yesterday.

Neil: Are you sure? He asked. Eyebrows joined together.

Advance: 100 percent. I dropped her off at home. So, I am confident about the time.

Neil: Ohh! He said feeling some sense of disappointment.

Advay: Why? What happened?

Neil: Nothing important. Thank you so much. With that he cut the call abruptly.

Advay placed his phone in his pocket as he recalled something from that night.

Flashback

Advay: Are you leaving? He said walking out of the kitchen as he handed her.

Avni: yes. She said and took a few drinks, allowing the cold liquid to chill her down from the inside after feeling flushed from the kiss.

Advay: Let me drop you then. He said about to grab his car keys when Avni stopped him

Avni: No need. I'll book a cab.

Advay: It's too late Avni.

Avni: I'll manage. Don't worry about me.

Advay: When you are with me it's my
responsibility to make sure you are safe. I will drive you home, end of the discussion.
Advay asserted grabbing his shoulder length thick hair in his grip making a little bun out of it, redoing it to make it much neatly than before. Those veiny arms are flexing with the movements he is making to tie up his hair, something that is very alluring for a girl not to notice such tall, well-defined physic. He is too fine as a man for anyone not to give him a double take. But unfortunately, Avni has her heart for someone else.

Avni: Look Advay....

Advay: I said no. His voice serious, intimidating.

Avni: Okay. She gave up with an exhausting sigh.

Advay: That's my girl. Grinning he winked.

Avni: What about Neil? We can't leave him like that all alone. She stated looking at the room he was in for few seconds before moving her gaze back to Advay.

Advay: In that case then let me tell you the amount of alcohol he downed tonight he won't be up before noon tomorrow. I can put few five hundreds on this. He said forwarding his hand.

Avni: Whatever. Let's go. She said slapping his hand away which he forwarded.

On the way to the car.

Avni: Advay.

Advay: Hmm?

Avni: Do not tell Neil that I stayed this long. After waking up tomorrow If he asks you just say as soon as I dropped him I left.

He would definitely ask she thought.

Advay: Yep, sweetheart I got it. Advay chuckled heaving a sigh and nodded.

Fb ends.

Advay: You was right Avi. Neil surely did ask that day but what caused him to ask me again? He thought to himself.

Back at the Khanna Mansion.

Neil: If she left that soon then why is there this intense feeling bugging inside me that something is out of track? I can't point at the exact thing but why there is this feeling that something happened. But what is it? Why is it that the more I try to find out the more it becomes like a riddle for me. Oh god I'll go insane if I keep going like this.
Forget it Neil forget it. You will start to overthink as getting an answer won't be that easy until you yourself don't remember what had occurred that night.

He picked up his sherwani and gazed at it for a while before turning to look at the shirt, which he continued to stare for a good several minutes. He picked up the shirt, put it back in the wardrobe and closed the door.

Neil: Time to get ready Neil Khanna. The more the hope keeps coming back the more you will hurt yourself. He said to himself as he stood Infront of the mirror with his sherwani.
