Forgiveness must be one of the greatest gifts that exist. For those who become, it is the beginning of the Christian life, one of the results of Jesus' work.
Manifest the grace and mercy of God (Ephesians 2: 4-7)

In the Old Testament those who committed sin were guilty according to the law and were punished, even some received death. The sacrifices always had to be received for sin, but these sacrifices became a daily life for some and no longer took away sin. (Hebrews 10,1-4) That is why Jesus was crucified for our sins being a unique and perfect sacrifice by saying CONSUMMATED IS (John 19:30)

When we repent, it must be sincerely

No matter what sin you have committed, if you repent from the heart God forgives it
There are times when one feels too dirty that perhaps it is ashamed to ask God for forgiveness, but he in his love and mercy forgives us, and one is New Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Most Christians come to God being dirty, troubled, and in sin, but He does not despise him who approaches and repents.

When we have asked God for forgiveness for the sin we have committed, and we definitely decide not to do it anymore, God erases it and promises not to remember it again.

There will be times that we will fail, they may be many, but we must always ask forgiveness for what we commit no matter what it is or how many times it is and he will forgive
But we must not abuse that opportunity that it gives us, not because it forgives us means that we are always going to sin on purpose, we must always strive not to fall into temptation (what you should say in the previous chapter)
God knows your heart

"He will have mercy on us again; he will bury our iniquities, and cast all our sins deep into the sea." Micah 7:19.
