Y/N's pov

For some reason, Qrow's cut had gotten far worse and it started leaking a purple liquid. I can only guess that it's from Tyrian's tail...

I only nearly avoided getting stung my it due to the book Joshua gave me although now it's useless due to the hole in it.

Jaune and i were carrying Qrow on a makeshift stretcher as we walked through a barren and dead stretch of land with distorted trees around us.

Ruby: Just... hold on, Uncle Qrow.

He started mumbling about something as i took a glance at him from behind me. He's really in a rough shape, it's most likely poision...

Qrow: Tai... She's not... coming... Tai...

Tai? I think i remember Yang telling me about someone called that, her dad i think... Qrow began couching as i sighed and hoisted him up a bit.

Jaune: He's getting worse

Me: No shit sherlock...

Ruby: How much further?

Nora: We've gotta be getting close

Ren: Without the map, there's no way of knowing. But i feel like we're close to something

We wouldn't be in this situation if you didn't throw it away... He stopped and sheathed his weapons before running down the path.

Finally catching up with him i saw i sign post that pointed in a few directions, maybe we're getting somewhere

Nora: Hey, hey! Mistral! We're om the right path!

Me: Does it say how close?

Ren: No. And it looks like the path takes us up through the mountains

Jaune and I placed Qrow down as i looked to him. So poisoned that his body won't even keep him conscious

Me: Only you four would make it

I hate to admit it but i wouldn't be able to trek through the mountains, not while i'm still healing. Ruby ran up to the signs and looked through them

Ruby: Okay. Well, what about this place?

She pointed to something that lookes crosses out

Ruby: Kuro... Kuroyuri. Can we get help there?

Jaune went over to them as i kept watch over Qrow, he was pale and breathing deeply... if that got me then i'd have died yesterday

Ren: That village was destroyed years ago

Jaune: But if it takes us around the mountains it's the best bet we've got.

Ren: It will take too long

Ruby: The town would've have had a doctor, right? Maybe we could scavenge for medicine!

Jaune: Right!

Me: No point, it would've expired by now

The more the others being it up the more Ren gets agrivated, something about this town is obviously making him like this

Nora: We can split up.

Ruby: Huh?

Nora: Ren, Jaune and I can cut through the mountains. You and Y/N can take Qrow around the village

Jaune: No, we're supposed to stick together. We keep eachother safe!

Me: When has that worked?

They looked to me as i stood up and looked to Jaune, he's the only one where who doesn't know of my identity yet.

Jaune: What are you talking about?

Me: We haven't been safe for the whole trip. Staying together limits our options so just listen to Nora, this way if one path ends up as dangerous only half of us will die

They stayed silent before i ushered Ruby over, she came and grabbed the other end of the strecher as i grabbed it too.

Me: If you get to Mistral, bring back help... If not, then you can get a better lay of the land, find somewhere else... Just in case it was nice knowing you

Timeskip

We walked into Kuroyuri and saw that it was even worse then the last village. The destruction was on a whole other level on top of it being so... Chilling.

Me: Didn't expect this...

Ruby: Come on

As we began walking i looked around, only breif thoughts of what the actual experience of going through whatever happened going through my mind.

Ruby: Any of these places look like a pharmacy?

Me: They all look the same, so no

Ruby: Ren really didn't want to come here, did he?

Me: Maybe he didn't want to see another ruined village... i don't blame him

Ruby: Yeah...

Yang's pov

I pulled back the tarp on Bumblebee and smiled, seeing that it was still in working order.

Looking down to my arm though, my expression dropped before i clenched my fist.

After all this time, i was able to block out thoughts of Y/N, so why is it now that i'm thinking of him?

Maybe it's because i'm going out and there's a slim chance i'll find him... hopefully not, he should've left for Atlas.

As much as i hate the idea, he would've been safe there, gotten new limbs so he can function normally and maybe they could help him with his semblance...

Whatever it is, i can't think about it now... after i've found Ruby and made sure she's safe then i'll go find Y/N and hopefully he can forgive me...

Y/N's pov

After we layed Qrow on a tree, due to hearing a strange noise, i heard hurrying footsteps behind us so i pulled out my gun and aimed at it.

It was Ren, Jaune and Nora? What're they doing here? I thought i told them to go find help first!

Ruby: What are you guys doing here?

Me: You guys hear that noise too?

Ren's eyes widened before he fell to his knees for some reason

Ren: No...

Ruby: Ren! What is it!?

There were clacking footsteps, almost like a horses, getting closer as i looked around while trying to find the source

Jaune: Do you guys hear that!?

Ren: No...

Nora: Ren?

Turning around I saw what i can only describe as a monster. It was like a Grimm horse but had a human like figure on it's back with weapons implanted into it.

I went to pull off my bandages but then i realised. If i use it with everyone else here, i'll kill them too...

Me: Grab Qrow and run...

Ruby: Wha-

Me: NOW!
