Departure day for the Deetzes came up at dawn as they get their luggage all packed and ready for the long flight to Hawaii. Adam heard the noise and wondered if Beetlejuice was gonna go ahead and say goodbye to Lydia and her stepfamily before they are gone.

"I'll see you later and if anything weird happens in Hawaii I'll make sure to say your name 3 times in a row, unspoken, unbroken." She said taking her bags wrapping her free arm around him in a goodbye hug. "I'll also bring you a souvenir, I promise."
"I'm gonna miss you, babes and I promise I won't burn the house down."

Up at the attic Barbara was looking at her husband still wearing that ridiculously loud Hawaiian shirt BJ snapped on him. "Believe it or not I do look the part in our staycation." He said straightening the pineapple lights that were strung up.

Skye knocked on the door seeing the step family about to leave. "Here is the key to the house, emergency numbers are written down and don't answer the door to anyone." Delia said giving the young girl the house key entrusting her to look after their home while they are away. "I won't let you down, Mrs. Deetz." Said Skye holding the key.

Beetlejuice stuck around Lydia's room for a moment until watched for them to leave in the taxi Charles called for. Once they were gone and Skye walking in to start house-sitting, the green-haired demon went up the attic seeing the ghost couple ready for a Hawaiian staycation finding them looking the part and Barbara wore one of those cheap-looking hula skirts and a rainbow lei over her dress.

"Hello or should we say, Aloha!" Barbara placed a lei around his neck and takes one of the lawn chairs switching the CD player on playing traditional Hawaiian music. With a flick of his wrist, he makes a cocktail drink appear in his hands. "Are you still bummed about not being able to go to Hawaii for real?" Adam asked dipping his feet in the kiddie pool. "What, no way, A-dawg what makes you think I'm still bummed," the demon gets up from the lawn chair making no effort to leave the Maitlands to their own amusements, "you and B-town enjoy yourselves, I'll be at the Netherworld if you need me which is pretty unlikely so, see ya, losers!"
They looked at each other realizing that the green haired demon just ditched them to find a way to get to Hawaii on his own leaving them at the house and with little Skye as well as their only living company.

Once at the Netherworld, BJ takes his packed stuff from his roadhouse and whistles out for Big Sandy the Sandworm who showed up. "Ready for a real vacation, girl?" He gets on her back bags in hand and sets off for sunny Hawaii ditching the Maitlands for them to have their own staycation and to give young Skye a break and not cause her Arrhythmia to act up while she house-sitting and it wouldn't pretty good having her heart stop and drop dead while the Deetzes are away.
