I woke up to the constant sound of beeping that seemed to pound on the back of my head. Pulling myself up I felt drowsy and weak, then noticed the light green jacket that Katrina always wore lazily thrown on a chair beside the bed. I ran my fingers through my hair trying to remember exactly what had happened before. Then it all came back in flashes and hesitantly I looked down on my left shoulder. I was now wearing a baggy hospital gown, but still had on the same black tights I had been wearing before. When I tried to move my right arm I winced and looked down, only to notice the white goss padding wrapped on my shoulder with blood staining it.

Confused I bit my lip and stood up keeping my arm still in order to rid of the pain. My feet were bare and my boots lie across the room in front of the door. Once I was on the floor, my feet fought to stay warm under the cool concrete as I inched my way forward. I left my boots on the floor deciding it would be a struggle to put on. Then, I used my unhurt arm, slowly opening the door, slowly making my way into the hallway. I saw doctors and people rushing around. Then I tilted my head as my eyes scanned the dim hall. Of course this was a hospital, and still it wasn't in the best of condition. Yet this was still the most sanitary place in all of Rasnic. I guess I caught the attention of a nurse because she walked right up to me. I recognized her. She was a new nurse, and only a couple years older than me. She had been in a couple of my classes at school before.

"Are you feeling okay?" She questioned worriedly, her eyes looking to my shoulder.

I nodded quietly. "Hurts if I move my arm, but I guess that's what happens when you get stabbed." I gave a raw laugh and looked to the floor. "Uh, do you know where my sister went? Her jacket's in the room, but no one's in there."

The woman gave me a small smile, her lips pronounced with a bright red lipstick. "They'll be right back, the boy that brought you here just left with her to go buy breakfast. Poor little things, they haven't left the room since he got you here."

I scrunched my eyebrows together confused. "W-what do you mean? How long have I been out?"

The nurse pressed her lips together. "A couple days." She took in a long breath shaking her head. "You see, the knife that you got stabbed with left traces of hypnovel midazolam in your shoulder. Whoever did this to you, they were trying to knock you out." She shook her head looking confused. "You're lucky really, the dose was so strong, it could've sent you into a comma." The girl laughed a little trying to lighten the mood.

"Whoever did this to you must be quite a fan, they probably spent a fair amount of time getting that for you."
I ran my good hand through my curly hair and shook my head in disbelief.

"You have no idea." I scrunched my eyebrows together and shook my head not wanting to relive that moment too much. " I uh, I want to go home, am I okay to leave?" I whispered tiredly.

"Yeah just let me fill up some pain medication, and maybe re-bandage that cut for you, we wouldn't want it getting infected." She gave me a kind smile and turned around a clipboard at her side.

I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding then I snuck back to the hospital room. Even though Matt and I had gotten in a fight, he'd come back for me, and he hadn't left my side for a whole two days. I wouldn't admit it, but that was the moment I had forgiven him. Matt wouldn't have come for me if he didn't care. He probably would have just left me there, and only God knows what would've happened if he did. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair as I sat on the edge of my bed. My hair was probably a frizzy mess right now seeing as I hadn't been able to wash it in a couple of days, though I didn't really care. I probably had a ugly cut scaring my face. Also, I wouldn't be able to get ahold of a blade anytime soon, and that made me feel very uncomfortable.

After what felt like a decade of silence and deadly thoughts, I heard the door squeak open and I popped my head up. Matt's tired eyes landed on me and it looked almost as if all the stress was lifted off of his shoulders. Katrina walked in the room second, and I noticed how much older she seemed with her curly, dirty blonde hair flowing down her back for once. Matt stepped towards me as if he were trying to see if I were real.

I smiled tiredly staring at Matt. "Thanks, for coming." I whispered weakly, debating on whether or not I should hug him, or if I should stay put. I decided on B, not moving a single inch as Matt stood in the middle of the room silently staring at me. When Matt didn't say anything I pressed my lips together and tried not to show how much it hurt.

Katrina was the person to run at me. She tackled me down until we were both lying on the bed. I yelped and grabbed my arm, but instantly regretted it when Katrina jumped up with a terrified expression. "No, no I'm okay, come here you rascal." I convinced, wrapping my good arm around around her. Katrina hugged me back even tighter and I smiled knowing that Katrina cared this much made me feel good. Though, I felt horrible that we still hadn't been able to leave yet as I had promised her.

"You've really got to stop scaring me Destiny it's not cool." Katrina laughed pulling away from me. Then she looked back to Matt who was still just staring at me. She jumped up and grabbed her jacket off of there chair. "Nature's calling, I'll be right back."

Katrina said, winking at me as she left the room. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her, but she was gone before I could say anything back. Well that was quick, I thought to myself tiredly.

Matt slowly stepped closer to me, still not saying anything. It made me feel weird that he wouldn't talk to me, but I just stared back at him until he was sitting beside me. We were both stiff and didn't really say anything at first. Well, I mean the last time we had a conversation I had left, and refused to forgive him. I didn't want to tell him it was okay, I felt like I had already dug myself in too deep. So instead of saying it I just leaned against his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around my waist, careful not to bump my arm or touch my shoulder. We just sat there for a second or two before Matt finally found words. "I couldn't wake you up."
