It didn't take long for me to find a quiet area. I was sitting under a staircase silently. I ran from him, I had run from my problems, again. I had to stop doing that! I knew I did, but everything was just so much more difficult now. Matt was like a brother to me, it hadn't been up until recently that I began to realize my feelings for him. They had always been there, but I knew nothing could come from them. I could not lose him the way I'd lost my mom. Not on my behalf.

I was too tired to cry, and I knew that crying wasn't going to help anything at the point. I was just numb, I was heartbroken, Matt was all I wanted and I couldn't have him. I staring at the wall silently trying not to think about him, but I knew I was going to have to talk to Matt at some point. I had to tell him why I ran out like that.

Silently I pulled myself up by my knees and began to quietly walk around the halls. I literally had no idea where I was, and everything was dark but I wasn't going to keep moping around like I was. Although as I continued to walk I could hear faint footsteps.

"Destiny?" I could hear Matt's voice across the hall. He was still looking for me, he hadn't just gone back to his room. I felt my heart sinking as I froze in the hall. This was my chance to explain everything.

"Matt?" I called back.

Then you could see his silhouette jerk in my direction as he began to jog towards me. "Destiny, what happened back there are you alright? I didn't freak you out or something did I?"

I gave a laugh. "No Matt, I'm just scared." I whispered not meeting his gaze. "If I really am the reason for everything that's going on out there, I can't let this happen, I can't let you get hurt..." I could feel my voice breaking. "If I had the same choice with Katrina, I would do the same thing."

"Des, that shit don't scare me." He placed his hand softly against my face. " Losing you is what scares me." He gave a laugh. "Bring the strongest army after me, I don't care Destiny. The only thing that matters to me is that I have you." He then pulled me into his arms and I could feel my heart melting to his words. Although somehow I knew no good was going to come out of this. "Come on I'll take you back to your room." Matt said wrapping his arm around me. I didn't really say anything just shook my head and allowed him to lead me through the halls.

I knew one thing from this point on I wasn't going to be weak anymore, I wasn't going to let everything ruin this. I was going to fight for the sake of Matt, my sister, my dad,and my brother. If it weren't for them, I would have nothing to fight for, they were all I had left in this world. If I wanted to bring us all together we would have to take down the pendomites. We would have to crush them into tiny pieces that could never be picked up.

Yeah, I already hated them for killing my mom, but if they were to ever touch Katrina, or even Matt, you would see a animal that could not be contained. I would wreck havoc to the pendomite and anyone even associated with them.

"Matt."

"Yeah?" He replied his eyes returning back to me.

"I want to train, I mean yeah I already know some offense, but I need defence too. They won't know what hit them next time they find me." My voice was so sure and I didn't didn't hesitate at my decision. I don't care about my shoulders for now we have to work around it, this is desperate times Matt, so it calls for desperate measures."

"Well, if you insist, we will start in the morning." Matt seemed hesitant, but he knew when I had my mind set there was no going back. "So we better get you some sleep."
