Roman's POV

Roman was walking down the 18th street towards the cafe that Lana had mentioned and frankly he was still waiting for his hard on to soften.

The feelings Lana stirred in Roman... Oxford Dictionary's vocabulary wouldn't be enough to even start describing it.

Although their hot session together at the university was intense, Roman still found himself yearning for more. More contact, more touch, more kisses, more everything... more of Lana.

'Yes I second that train of thought.' Roman's wolf chimed in.

'You are one to talk. You gave me a whipping earlier and now you want to get in on the action?' He replied accusingly.

'I had a good reason. You had messed everything up. It's a good thing our mate is an understanding goddess or I would have beaten your ass from high to low.' His wolf said.

'As someone who can easily access my deepest and darkest desires, can you see the ones where I put your wolf form in a tight silver leash and collar?' Roman threateningly asked.

'Yep they are right next to the ones where my wolf bites your human form's head off.' Roman's wolf snappily replied.

Roman could swear his wolf gave him a migraine sometimes. He rubbed his temples to ease the throbbing there and decided not to answer his wolf. He knew from experience that an argument with him could go on forever and Roman was already opening the door of the cafe so he left him alone.

He took a seat at a table for two and waited for Lana to arrive. Her lesson had finished and she would be here any second now. Roman didn't want to order anything without Lana so he told the young guy waiter, who came to take his order that he would wait.

Before 2 minute had even passed, Lana came through the door of the cafe. As soon as she stepped into the small cafe, all the attention zeroed in on her. Everyone including Roman was looking at her. She radiated ethereal beauty and released a powerful, strong aura that dominated everyone and anything.

It was actually scary how every single ounce of her seemed to possess this much energy without her even trying. It was terrifying, overwhelming and awe aspiring all at the same time.

And although every pair of eye in the cafe was on her, Lana directly found Roman and locked her gaze with his. She started walking towards him without breaking that hypnotising gaze of hers. At that moment, Lana reminded him of a panther. Deadly, silent, beautiful and a predator. She was looking at him like Roman was her next prey. Up until now he hadn't realised how much lethal Lana was but he was starting to get a glimpse of it. Roman's heart sped up a little at that thought both from fear and excitement.

Lana gracefully lowered herself on to the seat across from Roman. "I hope I didn't make you wait long."

"No, not at all. I just arrived here myself." Roman assured her.

The young waiter from earlier came again and asked for their orders.

"I'll have a hot chocolate." Lana said.

"And I'll have a caramel frappuccino with cinnamon." Roman said.

They talked about usual stuff about Roman's school and how his studies were going. Lana added how she had really liked the assignment he had handed in for her lesson and Roman's pride swelled inside his chest.

The waiter returned with their drinks and much to Roman's dislike, the guy kept looking at Lana. When the waiter left, Roman looked at the rest of the cafe and saw that everyone kept glancing their way and stealing glances of Lana.

Lana leaned over the table and with a finger under his chin, she turned his head towards her, making him look at her.

"What's the matter dear? You're frowning." Lana asked.

"Everyone is looking at you." Roman said in a not too pleased way.

"And that bothers you?" Lana asked tilting her head as she tried to figure him out.

"Yes." Roman answered truthfully.

"Would it help to know that your eyes are the only ones that I care whether they are on me or not?" Lana asked.

"More than you know." Roman answered now happily. He gave a big genuine smile to her and Lana replied back with a smile of her own and leaned in to give him a small peck on the lips.

Lana carried the remnants of her hot chocolate drink on her sweet full lips and as that small peck transpired, Roman tasted the chocolate with Lana's own sweet taste.

When Lana leaned back to her seat, Roman looked directly into her eyes and slowly licked his lips. Getting all of the hot chocolate and Lana into his mouth. He saw Lana's eyes became ablaze with lust.

"Somebody is quick to forget a warning about teasing I believe." Lana said in a low voice to Roman.

He in reply just grinned back at her and winked. Lana shook her head and smiled at his playfulness.

Roman was going to say something on the topic of teasing or similar to that when he remembered a certain set of red eyes. He immediately became serious and Lana was quick to sense his shift.

"What is it Roman?" Lana asked also seriously.

"I was going to ask you something after class and I forgot about it because of... you know." Roman's cheeks reddened.

Lana smiled but kept him on track asking, "What were you going to ask me?"

"Yesterday I had this feeling like I was being watched and it happened a couple of times throughout the day. I couldn't see anyone or anything out of the ordinary. But as I was walking from the library to my apartment, I felt  someone's eyes on me again and this time I saw a pair of red eyes." Roman explained.

At hearing this, Lana seemed to shift gear into high focus and attentiveness, paying a close look to their surroundings. Roman knew Lana was probably always aware of her surroundings and her senses on alert but now she seemed to turn it up to maximum.

"What did the person look like Roman?" Lana asked.

"I couldn't see the person. The person was hidden in the shadow of the alley."

At his reply, Lana seemed to space out thinking about something deeply inside her mind. Her eyebrows were furrowed.

"Who could it be?" Roman asked after he realised she wasn't going to elaborate much on it.

"It was a vampire." Lana said simply.

"A vampire? Why would a vampire follow me? And do all vampires have red eyes? How come yours are green?" Roman asked.

"I don't know why a vampire would follow you but I will start looking into it. I may have some theories as to why someone would follow you. And no not all vampires have red eyes though most do. The reason why I don't have red eyes is that I practised turning the colour to a more humanly colour to attract less attention in public. One needs time to be able to do that. When a vampire has red eyes, it means that they are either younger or more close to their primal instincts. Urges like feeding, fighting and acting as a predator mostly brings out that primal part of us. And that is when the eyes turn to a colour of red." Lana explained.

To make a demonstration, Lana quickly blinked and her mesmerising green eyes turned to a blood red. They were almost glowing like blood from a fresh wound, Roman noted. They looked dangerous and promised violence but Roman could still see the warmth and everything else that made Lana her, reflected behind them.

When she blinked for a second time, her red eyes were replaced with green ones again.

"Wow." Roman said. "I can't change my eye colour but my wolf form has gold irises."

"I would really like to see your wolf form sometime." Lana said excitedly. "Is your fur black like your hair?" She wondered.

"Yes it is." Roman said and smiled at her enthusiasm at his wolf.

Lana lifted her right hand to run her fingers through his long, black strands of hair. "Is it also as soft as your hair too?"

'Yes baby it is. My form has everything you could ask for and so much more.' Roman's wolf purred in response to Lana.

Roman laughed out loud to his wolf's horny response. Lana smiled back but her brows creased as she didn't understand what Roman was laughing about.

Roman explained, "My wolf decided to respond to that last question."

Lana's eyes alighted with curiosity at the mention of his wolf. "I always found it interesting how werewolves' other form has consciousness. What did your wolf say?"

"He said something egoistical along the lines of how he had anything you could ask for and more." Roman said chuckling.

Lana laughed at this and said, "Well, I am very confident that your wolf doesn't say that just for show. I am pretty sure he could back his claims up."

'Yes my love yes! See Roman, my mate understands my value and capabilities... unlike you. Man, I love her.' Roman's wolf said.

"He says he loves you." Roman said to Lana.

'HEY! Hey don't say that out loud. It's too soon to say that. You'll scare her off with our clinginess.' His wolf said in a rush.

"I love him too." Lana said looking directly into Roman's eyes. And Roman could see the intensity and sincerity of her words clearly in her eyes.

'Okay never mind. Dodged a bullet right there. Phew.' His wolf replied.

Roman didn't pay any attention to his wolf because hearing Lana tell him that she loved his wolf had created a volcano of emotions erupt in him.

"I love you Roman. Both of you. It may seem to soon to say this but I am an immortal and I do nothing but wait." Lana shook her head, "But not about something as important as this. Never about this. I know how I feel and I see no reason to wait to tell you about them."

Roman's chest was bursting with joy and ecstasy. It was so unexpected and so sudden that her confession of love had hit Roman right in the heart. All the air left Roman's lungs. He then quickly leaned forward and pulled Lana by holding her at the back of her head to crush their lips in a passionate, hard kiss.

Their lips moved against each other and Roman sent Lana all the lust, all the passion he had for her through the kiss. He told her his happiness, his love in a way no words could explain. Then he pulled back only a little and said in a breathless voice, "I love you too Lanakila."

Lana's eyes sparkled at this and pure happiness covered her face as she smiled. Her joy was clear in the small crow's feet on the side of her eyes, in the way her luscious lips curled and how her cheeks reddened a little. Every detail was a masterpiece and all Roman could do was roam his eyes over every single detail on her face to etch them deep in to the middle of his heart.

They then continued on talking about anything and everything. Stuff like Roman's childhood and his family. How Trevor, his roommate and him were childhood friends and how they got into trouble because of their adventures as a teenager.

Lana then came back to the topic of the Red Eyed vampire who was following Roman. "Roman, until I can learn more about the person following you, I need you to be close to me so I can protect you."

Her request didn't bring out a manly response about how he could protect himself and a woman protecting him was supposed to be the other way around. Roman knew that Lana was without question much much more stronger and experienced than him and Roman had not gone to head to head with a vampire before. He didn't know their strengths, their weaknesses or to what extent their powers went. Lana wanting to protect him wasn't a physical blow to his manliness, on the opposite it showed how much Lana cared about him. And Roman had no objection to being closer to his mate.

"If it is okay with you, I want you to come and stay at my house until I can ensure your safety." Lana told him.

'Staying with Lana? At her house? Sleeping together? Sign me up!' Roman's wolf chimed in excitedly. And Roman also saw the temptation the invitation held. His desire to be near his mate made his decision even easier for him.

"I-I mean it's fine with me. Great. Super." Roman stuttered as he tried to act nonchalantly and hide his excitement at the prospect.

Lana just smiled at Roman and said, "It's settled then. Pack some clothes and essentials this evening. I'll come and get you from your apartment tomorrow morning."

They parted ways after wards and Roman went back to his apartment. He thought how he could break the news of him temporarily moving out to Trevor. He had already bitched at him about Roman not paying him enough attention and now if he told him this... Trevor was going to lose his shit.

Roman decided to pack his stuff and play Call of Duty with Trevor as he had promised earlier and ordered pizza to soften the news.

In short, Trevor had lost his shit.

Yes, there were flying pizzas in the aftermath.

And then some manly tears had been shed.
