pretty late, but i'm doing a writing tag! this was taken from astralette. i've been meaning to do this for a long time but a lot things got in the way. i kind of changed up some of the questions, but anyways, let's begin.

1) HOW/WHEN/WHY DID YOU DISCOVER FANFICTION? i was in third grade when i first joined wattpad & fanfiction.net and no, that was not a typo. i was under the required age to sign up for both sites when i decided to do so. i definitely understood the cringe towards preteens taking part in here since that's also what i did 😬😬 i joined because of my love for this now-defunct cartoon series called ever after high (anyone remembers that?? also i was sooo obsessed with cedar wood) and i was just bursting with original character ideas but i didn't know where to make them come to life besides the notebooks my mom would buy for me. and here we are, eight years and several semi-hiatuses later, still without a finished fic.

2) WHICH FANDOMS DO YOU ENJOY READING AND/OR WRITING? there are many, but rn i mainly read and write for bbc sherlock and good omens. i enjoy reading marvel fics and i have one: chasing sunsets. i have a couple more marvel fics in my drafts too. i also read/write about some celebrities and other holmes-related fandoms.

3) HAVE YOU TOLD ANYONE THAT YOU WRITE FANFICTION? yes! the answer as to who, though, will be a lot of people. despite joining and writing fan fiction in wattpad at an embarrassingly young age, i'm pretty candid about it.  my family knows, my friends know and several classmates know. still, i don't just tell everyone that i pen down my louis partridge fantasies in the form of an e-book because that would be ✨ not good for whatever reputation i have left! ✨

4) WHAT DOES FANFICTION MEAN TO YOU? it means a lot, bestie like . . . how do i even begin? it's what got me into writing in general: poems, short stories, editorial articles. it's also what sharpened my skills at the craft as well as improving my vocabulary & grades with the pieces i make. it's the reason why i bagged awards, joined contests, started making graphics, and read more. i honestly can't even find the right word or phrase for me because it just means more than a simple explanation. i just ─ 💓💞💕💘💗!!!

4) WHAT STORY HAVE YOU WRITTEN THAT YOU'RE MOST PROUD OF? play pretend. for those who don't know about it yet or haven't read it because they're not a part of the fandom, it's my sherlock fic. i consider it my life's work since everything about it ─ plot, characters, ideas ─ grew with me. despite being currently unfinished, i have the whole story done in my head and honestly, i just can wait to write them all down when time becomes kind for me.

5) HAVE YOU EVER WRITTEN A COLLAB WITH SOMEONE? yes. once, it was with my early days in the eah fandom with rebel (babe if you're reading this i want you to know that i miss you so much!! we don't talk anymore but i hope we can still talk 😭). we never really got to go even halfway with our fic because we eventually went on with our lives. then, there was my british occupation of manila au about benedict cumberbatch ft. Favourite English Boys 👉👈 collab with ate anj (tom hiddleston) and ate ains (eddie redmayne) as of now, my marvel & real-life fics are tied in with tati's & avah's.

6) WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE STORY? oOOoH, good question. since i write more than i read, i honestly can't tell you however, i actually adore shiterature's philophobe and several other sherlock wattpad classics such as everything by queen_mycroft & the glass duology by daydreamtofiction. ate anj's mmim1892 was also one of my favourites. my ultimate favourite has to go to alone on the water. yes, the dreaded angsty sherlock fic we have all cried over even if we've read it so many times 🙊🙊 why do you think i like sad stories SKSJSKAJA

7) WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO WRITE? my room, but i generally write best in places where i can be myself or alone.

8) HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO WRITE? by daydreaming. i like to think of my fics as they happen in shows or on screen just to help me visualise and write everything down, which gives me a good vision of just how things should go down when i finally put everything to words. also by graphics, which basically the same as daydreaming hut instead i make a manip of gif or whatnot so that i can visualise better.

9) WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU ASPIRE TO DO AS A WRITER? i want to a) focus and finish my works; b) serve as an inspiration to other aspiring writers out there to be not afraid to take the reins of their ideas and harness them into something uniquely theirs; and c) actually get to publish something?? 👀👀

10) WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST DISTRACTION WHEN WRITING? literally everything </33 i could get distracted even with the smallest bg noise or my thoughts going somewhere else. it's honestly kind of frustrating especially when my attention span is shorter than me.

11) HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU STARTED WRITING FANFICTION? the number of this question - 2, which technically means (like i mentioned in the first question) that i was nine-years-old when i started. 

12) DO YOU PREFER WRITING OCs OR READER INSERTS? ocs. i never really liked reader inserts since i started. i found imagines and y/n to be just not for me (apologies to those who write these kind of fics). i was uncomfortable at the notion that my favourite character could easily pass as my dad and i couldn't see myself as anything older than i was soOoOO yeah 🤷🤷

13) IF YOU HAD TO DELETE ONE OF YOUR BOOKS AND NEVER TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE? yikes, tough one. i really love all my plots and i think they're all clever in a way, but i'll have to give it to leading lady, my ben cumberbatch social media fic. don't get me wrong, i love the dynamics between each and every character and i made it with tati, but i wish i had fleshed it out properly before even making the draft because now, i don't feel as comfortable writing it than when i first started it.

14) WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED TIME TO WRITE? night. i'm usually busy with school work or household chores in the morning till afternoon.

15) WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SCENE THAT YOU HAVE EVER WRITTEN? sherlock & alice's first interaction with their first client, dr. thorneycroft huxtable, in playpre's second chapter. i love the humour about it (despite being over the top), especially the part where dr. huxtable asks if 221c was 221b and alice replies, "yes." boom. literal Comedy Gold™

16) HAVE YOU EVER AMENDED A FIC AFTER RECEIVING CRITICISM? yuppity yuppity yup! any criticism really helps me develop my stories so that they're more realistic and stays true to the fics' source material.

17) WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER TO WRITE FOR AND WHY? this will come off as weird but it would be harry watson (even if she has yet to appear in playpre). she's just so sassy and is literally The Death of Dr. John Hamish Watson, GP + with the freedom i allowed myself to have it her, it makes her more fun to write.

18) WHO IS YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE CHARACTER TO WRITE FOR AND WHY? alexander mycroft chad bloody holmes! he's just so hard to write simply because you don't want him to come off as too serious but you also want to give off the vibe that he's still approachable but barely. idk it just kind of irks me on how to keep him in character with my writing.

19) HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH THE TITLES OF YOUR STORIES? i really like to play on alliterations and related analogies of sorts, especially on the series (like, they'd be related to a certain theme; e.g., play pretend & then SPOILER!! the next book is called curtain call). i also like to take the last things you'd use as a title and/or idea for the story just because i want to.

20) IF YOU WRITE OCs, HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON THEIR NAMES? it would be one of three things: historical accuracy (i literally search for the most popular names for certain years just so the name sounds right for the time), referential stuff (e.g., alice faulkner was actually holmes' love interest in a play & silent movie by and starring william gillete; the best part about this is that it's sir acd approved despite us knowing holmes was most likely asexual or aro-ace), or by family (like, all the kids' name start with the same letter or jewels or flowers or whatever)

21) HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE IDEAS FOR YOUR STORY? they literally come from the weirdest of things. i would make an analogy of sorts that just becomes a messy goop of a plot and then transform into something that i really need to write about.

22) POST A LINE FROM A WORK-IN-PROGRESS (WIP)! this one is from my currently drafted marvel fic ;)

23) DO YOU HAVE ANY ABANDONED WIPs? WHAT MADE YOU ABANDON THEM? i do, and it's one of three things: i lost inspo, i lost time to write on top of my other wips, and i had to discontinue them because of certain circumstances surrounding the fic. 

24) WHICH WATTPAD WRITER DO YOU ADMIRE? WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE ABOUT THEM? too many to mention, really. tati, the loml, is just sososososoooooo good at descriptions and sarcastic lines and sad scenes. then there's daydreamtofiction again because she managed to make sherlock in love without him entirely losing his sense of character. avah just has the craziest ideas for her fics and i love them all and i would go on but there's a lot more questions so yeah i'll stop there.

25) DO YOU HAVE A STORY THAT YOU LOOK BACK ON AND CRINGE WHEN YOU READ IT? the first drafts of playpre and leading lady. i um just─

24) DO YOU PREFER LISTENING TO MUSIC WHEN WRITING OR SILENCE? either works, honestly.

25) HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT WRITING SMUTTY SCENES? conflicted would be the word. i was exposed to it at a young age (since i joined wattpad early) and it was quite inevitable since the first few fics i read had, at some point, a smut scene. i actually saw some beginnings of these kinds of scenes (although none really became a full smutty scene) i wrote in notebooks i wrote in when i was around thirteen. i really regret that now. i'm a year away from being legally allowed to do it and even then, i don't see myself writing one.

26) HAVE YOU EVER CRIED WHILE WRITING A STORY? yes!! i have a habit of writing the climaxes and other random scenes far from the currently posted chapters, and some of them really moved me to tears.

27) WHICH PART OF YOUR FICS WHAT THE HARDEST TO WRITE? the parts where i need to write the canon characters. i think the fear of making them sound or act not like themselves is the constant thing that kind of keeps me holding back from writing my best.

28) DO YOU MAKE A GENERAL OUTLINE FOR YOUR STORIES OR DO YOU JUST GO WITH THE FLOW? mix of both. i just kind of make a structure of how i want the book to go (e.g., number of chapters, what happens in which chapter, which character gets their intro) and from then on it's free real estate for me basically.

29) WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU WISH YOU HAD KNOWN BEFORE YOU STARTED WRITING FANFICTION? i really wish that i watched the shows more carefully and analytically before making up story ideas for them. as seen in 27, i have a hard time writing canon characters into my stories simply because i have a short attention span and i don't remember much. this is backed up by the fact that i tend not to rewatch shows because i get so busy with school. so yeah, i really wish that i knew that since i'm a bit of loyalist to the canon itself.

30) DO YOU HAVE A STORY YOU FEEL DOESN'T GET AS MUCH LOVE AS YOU'D LIKE? saving grace. it has a lot of potential, let me tell you, and is nowhere near your typical good omens fic. i kind of get why it doesn't though. the prologue isn't even up.

31) IS THERE A STORY THAT GETS A LOT OF LOVE THAT YOU EYE-ROLL AT? none!! i do wish that the formats are uniform (since there are stories i haven't touched in years) but i don't find any of them eye-roll worthy nonetheless.

32) ARE ANY OF YOUR OCs BASED ON REAL PEOPLE? there are some that i completely based on a person, and many others i took inspo from. i guess a good example of this are the villanueva-faraday sisters: thalia, samira, and brielle. they are based on tati, avah and myself respectively, since we had a fantasy of being at least part british and rich enough to be able to checkout at shopee without much guilt.

33) WHAT'S THE BIGGEST COMPLIMENT YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED? oOoOoOoooHhHHhHHH that would be all the comments that come in the synopsis parts of my books. it's important for me to grab their attention right at the start and seeing them feel and love the words i strung up together makes me feel i accomplished that goal.

34) DO YOU SHARE YOUR STORY IDEAS WITH ANYONE ELSE? yes!! the victims are tati & avah, but i'm sure they're not complaining.

35) CAN YOU GIVE US A SPOILER FROM ONE OF YOUR WIPs? benedict cumberbatch makes a fool of himself while falling head-over-heels with natalie dormer & being oblivious that they're actually in love with each other. that's all i can tell you, not specifying which one is this. do what you will with that information.

36) DO YOU PREFER FIRST-, SECOND- OR THIRD-PERSON? third-person all the way! it's so easy to write in it and you get to practically insert your own humour in it.

37) WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE MINOR CHARACTER THAT YOU'VE WRITTEN? ladylucys' very own delilah june in playpre. she's so sweet but at the same time she's trying her best not to sherlock with a baseball bat also blake lively ✊✊

38) HAS ANYONE EVER GUESSED THE PLOT TWIST OF ONE OF YOUR FICS BEFORE YOU POSTED IT? yes, there has been someone, but some others know the plot twist because i either told them or they're a part of the fleshing-out of the part.

39) WHAT'S THE LAST LINE YOU WROTE? this one. it's the first line/paragraph from saving grace's first chapter.

40) WHAT SPURS YOU ON DURING THE WRITING PROCESS? the daydream and visualisation of the scenes in my head and my separation of needing to put them on paper immediately. it just drives me to write on and on and on and it makes everything all the more thrilling to do.

41) WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE TROPE TO WRITE? i'm such a sucker for "oblivious geniuses that are dumb in love who don't know they like each other but everyone else knows it because it's painfully obvious to them" trope. that's not how it's probably named but it goes something like that.
