"Wake up, idiot! Do you wanna end up being late on the first day of our school?"
"Lemme sleep for some more time Anna..." I said as I hugged my pillow. But then, Anna's words struck me. "SCHOOL!? Do we have school today? Crap!" I jumped out of the bed, took my towel, toothbrush, and ran inside the bathroom. I got ready as fast as I could and rushed downstairs for breakfast. I shouldn't be late on the very first day of a year, right?

"Anna! Why didn't you wake me up a bit earlier!?" I asked as I pulled the dining chair.

"What did you say?" She asked as she slowly turned her head towards me, like those possessed dolls used to do in a horror movie.

"I was trying to wake you up since six in the morning. You just won't move a muscle, if it wasn't for the breathing I would have thought you were dead. I have to wake a sleeping zombie as well as hear it complain I didn't do it early enough. You know what? I'm done with working as your personal alarm clock, go buy a real one" she glared at me and smacked my head.

"Ouch! Stop it, that hurts Anna. Don't do that, are you trying to kill your own sister?" I whined rubbing my head.

"Maybe. I'm definitely not gonna let an immature kid like you to boss me around just because you were born two years before me" she stated as she took a bite of her toast.

Oh well, and that folks, is my little sister Anna. Even though she sounds scary, she's really very adorable- wait a sec- did I introduce myself!?

* Sigh *

I'm Violet Stern, a fifteen-year-old high school student who basically hates anything to do with sports.

Having the last name Stern means I'm James Stern's daughter, and he is a top business tycoon that almost everyone in Seattle wishes to get closer to. I'm a daddy's girl and no matter how tight his schedule gets his daughters comes first for him.

My mom died when I was five. It was a cardiac arrest and we were too late to save her. I still remember that day like only yesterday when dad carried mom in his hands, running like a crazy man from his car into the hospital. Anna was just three then holding my hands tightly and crying her eyes out.

From that day on, dad was our entire world, he had to be a great father as well as a caring mother at the same time for us. Well, he was so good at both the roles that we never felt like we don't have a mom. Even though mom is no longer in this world, she is always in our hearts filling us with her smile.

"I'm done!" Anna got up pushing back her chair in a hurry and that sound broke me from my thoughts.

"Make it fast, Violet. The opening ceremony starts at eight I don't want to miss it" she shouted at me as she ran out of the hall. I took a toast in my mouth grabbed the bag and ran out to the car.

"Morning girls, get in fast we are running late," Dad said with a bright smile as he leaned out of the driver's seat.

"Morning, dad. I thought you left already wasn't that board meeting of yours today?" I asked him as I took a bite out of my toast.

"Yes it is, but then I remembered that it's an important day for my kids so I decided to drop you at school." He patted my head and smiled like a proud dad.

"Thanks, dad but you could have just asked Mr. Barton to drive us to school as usual. That meeting of yours is important, we are alright to-"

"And miss seeing my daughters' first day to school? I don't think so. Haven't we discussed how you girls always comes first for me?"

Anna already started to meddle with her phone sitting in the back. And it was only when I heard the engine purr that I remembered we were actually sitting in dad's Lamborghini Urus and not our usual drive.

And yes the car is a beauty but I hate it with a passion for all the unnecessary attention it draws. Dad is so wealthy that we can afford many cars like this but I just hate to show it off. And arriving on the first day at school in a Lamborghini is like screaming to the world that you are super-rich. I wish I could throw an invisible cape over me when I get out of this stupid car.

When we did reach the school I quickly leaned in and gave dad a goodbye hug and dashed out as fast as I could away from the crowd forming around our car while Anna took her time like she doesn't give a care.

Since we were late we kind of missed that long boring welcome back speech by our dean. I was absolutely thankful for that. I checked the notice board and found that I was enlisted in class 2 A and saw that almost all the people who were in my class last year were still in it this year too. As I hurriedly walked to my class a guy jogged up to me from behind.

"Hey! Was that your car?"

Here I was running late for my class and the last thing I needed was to meet is a car geek who's gonna mutter every spec about Urus to me. I turned to face him with the most disinterested look I could.

The guy's eyes twinkled of curiosity as he smiled the cutest dimpled smile at me. His blond hair was a bit ruffled even though messy it looked surprisingly nice on him, it complimented his light green eyes. Snap out of it Violet, he's a car geek, good to get him out of your radar if you wanna reach your class fast.

"No. That's my dad's car. Moreover, it's not good to-"

"Doesn't that mean it's yours too?" He asked interrupting me. I hate it when they do that.

"NO! And first of all, have a habit of not interrupting when someone is talking to you."

Seriously, that guy was getting on my nerves by each second.

"Ok calm your horses, take a deep breath. Oh, and can you please help me find where this Class 2 A is? I'm a transfer student and this little map they gave is definitely not helping me" he said rubbing his hair. Even though this guy pisses me I'm not cruel enough to leave him here to find his way to class. The whole school building is like a puzzle when it comes to directions. We think it's to keep a secret treasure safe or something. If someone tries to steal it, they will only get lost in here.

"I'm in that class too, so I guess you could tag along"

"WOW! THAT'S GREAT! That means you are my classmate!" He said so happily. I hate such bubble of happiness kind.

"I'm Jonathan Paxton, we used to live in Portland. With dad's transfer, and all I ended up here" he explained.

"Jonathan? Isn't that kind of an old name? I'm Violet Stern by the way" I asked him with a teasing smile. Though I did like the way it rolled in my tongue.

"Violet, that's a really nice name. Suits you well" he said smiling down at me. Before I could ask anything I saw that we had reached our class.

"Oh, we are here. Thank you so much, Violet" He was so full of energy just like my best friend Jessica, the chipmunk on steroids.

"Violet, my darling. I missed you like hell. Thank god we still got to be in the same class" Jessica ran towards me and leaped into a full force crushing hug that I nearly felt my soul-draining out of me.

"I missed you too, Jessie" I answered her. I really did.

"You know what? I had this horrible dream that I would fail my finals and would have to sit a year as you guys pass by me. It was the worst. And when I did knew my results I felt so lucky that I was screaming around the house. By the way, who is this guy, Violet?" Jessica asked and pointed towards Jonathan who was just beside me.

"Oh, He is-"

"I'm Jonathan Paxton. You can call me Nate." He said before I could finish. Interrupting people seems to be his hobby I guess.

"I like Nate better, I guess I will stick with that. Oh and I'm Jessica Stone, Vi's knight in silver armor. You can call me Jessie since you are close to Violet"

And just like that two weirdos clicked and started to talk like long lost best friends. I can already picture them teaming up and spreading their steroid energies together.

"Umm... Guys? You know that I exist right? And Jessie you were supposed to be my best friend?" I asked them.

"Oops, I'm sorry, Vi. Kinda forgot that you're still alive." She said sticking her tongue out.

Then the bell rang indicating that our classes started. The day went on and I survived my calculus, chemistry, and physics classes. But when it was time for P.E I was damn stubborn that there was no way that I would do anything that includes me moving my muscles. So I did what I do the best, act sick so that I would be excused. And it worked like magic for some reason.

After a while, I got bored watching the others playing so I sneaked out of the gym and ran towards the garden. Our school's garden is kind of special as it is filled with different varieties of plants cause our dean was also a plant maniac like me. At least that's the truth and the reason he states is 'for botanical studies'

"Aww, I missed you like hell during the summer holidays. Look at you guys looking so down cause you missed me" I said while holding one of the pink-colored rosebuds.

"Ha! Knew you would be here... Aren't you afraid that you might end up being punished for sneaking out like that? You sure do like doing dangerous stuff don't you, Violet? If Mr. Willson find you here, you are dead"

"Why are you here, Sam?"

To Be Continued...
