Maverick was running with her super speed; he was alone. He jumped and ran by man trees, getting close to his destination. While getting to his destination, Maverick couldn't help but notice that the path he took looked familiar. Realization hit him when the path looked a lot like his dream. Hecate's words echoed in his mind; the Moon Goddess and Ofelia sent him a message. Not only that, but his choice is also a matter of life and death.

Anxiety and fear were overshadowing his mind and heart, but the Beta shook it off. "I'm not alone in this fight. I can't let that bastard know!" Maverick continued, and from afar, he noticed the cave; his destination was getting close. As he was about to jump down on the ground, Maverick felt different auras surrounding him, and that was when he found out that they were Derek's hunters. The Beta stopped on a tree; it was silent. "I know that you're all out there. I came here alone as instructed. I will get down, and you can take me to him." Maverick jumped on the ground, then raised his arms in the air and waited for the hunters to escape their hiding positions.

After what seemed like an eternity, all ten hunters got out of their hiding spots and pointed their guns at him. As they cautiously walked toward their target, Maverick couldn't help but notice something different. The ten hunters wore some collars. Not only that, but he could tell that the hunters looked nervous. The memory of the previous hunter whose head exploded came to mind. "Kneel," said one of them.

Maverick obeyed. He thought of the possibility that the hunters were being forced to kidnap the women. "Those collars, are they a threat?" he whispered. The hunters said nothing as they checked and patted him. "Sir Xenon knows what's happening, and he will help. Please tell me if those collars are a danger to your lives." The hunters looked at one another; they looked afraid of saying anything. However, one of them slowly nodded. The Beta nodded as he was then motioned to stand and walk toward the cave.

No one said anything since they all were in danger. However, Maverick couldn't help but feel pity for the hunters; they were also innocent victims. Eventually, everyone entered the car. A cold chill hit all of them, and small icicles dangled on the ceiling and ground. Rocks and stones were everywhere on the ground; the path was dark. Iris's scent could be smelled inside, so it brought Maverick relief that she was in the cave. Once inside, there was complete darkness, but the further they went inside, a couple of candles were put on openings in the cave to give some light.

Further down, there were certain pathways, and one caught his interest since he heard female cries. That was when he knew that it was Laura and Iris. Maverick had the urge to run to them, but he couldn't let the plan go to waste, so he let the hunters take him toward the path.

Meanwhile, Laura cried for Waylen, and Jessica tried comforting her. Iris, however, was silent as she sat still, looking at her sister. Brianna had her back turned to her; it frustrated Iris like always. Whenever her sister did something wrong, Brianna always turned her back on it and let Iris pick up the pieces. Iris had so many questions for her, but there was a possibility that Brianna was forced to do what she did. Iris was about to call out to her, but echoes of footsteps were heard coming their way. Laura stopped crying, and Jessica looked at where the noise came from.

The women gasped when they saw the hunters holding Maverick captive. Iris's eyes watered. She was relieved that Maverick had found them, but the happiness and relief were eventually overshadowed by worry. "M-MAVERICK!?"

Maverick saw his mate and the other women in a prison cell. He got out of the hunters' grip and went to Iris. They held hands and kissed one another through the bars. "Iris, I'm so glad you and the rest are safe! Are you hurt!?"

"N-No, we're all good. I'm more worried about you! Y-You were captured!? Where is everyone else!?"

"I-I had to come alone, or the rest of you would've gotten hurt. I couldn't let that happen to you and the others. I had to lie to the others, or there would be consequences."

Then, a shot was fired between the couple, making them separate; Brianna squealed at the suddenness. "Oh, how very touching. You two are so romantic that it makes me tear up." Derek walked up from the shadows. "Hold him down," he commanded the hunters. The hunters followed their orders, and they forced him down on the ground.

The Beta glared at his enemy, who now stood before him. "You coward, you are forcing your men to do your dirty work. You even go as far as putting them collars. Goes to show that you were never meant to lead."

Without warning, Derek stepped on Maverick's face, making him grunt. "No, don't hurt him!" yelled Iris.

"Shut up! I can't believe you would go and screw around with a dog! I had to watch such a disgusting act!"

The young woman gasped in horror. "Y-You watched us th-that night!? You sick bastard!"

"Says the whore who did it for the entire world to see!"

"At least I didn't fuck any of your family! I, however, gave myself to the man I love!"

Derek's eyes were so full of rage that he pointed his gun at Iris and shot a bullet that almost hit the tip of her left finger. "You find it hard to accept that your sister was to blame for everything! You should know better since she was always a fuck-up. You and your parents always had to pick up the pieces." He eyed Brianna, who eyed him with fear. The hunter then looked at Maverick. "Funny thing, Brianna is connected to you."

Everyone, including Maverick, was confused. "What are you talking about? I never seen that woman before in my life."

"You may have not, but your deceased wife has."

Maverick stilled, as did everyone. Brianna's eyes widened as she then went to the prison bars. "W-We had a deal! You promised that you wouldn't say anything!"

Derek ignored her as he continued. "You may not know, and probably Iris didn't tell you, but Brianna always had a drug and alcohol problem since her worthless parents raised her to be the trashy whore she is. One day, Brianna drank so much that she stupidly got in a car and drove."

"SHUT UP, ASSHOLE!" Brianna's anger and fear got the best of her, and she didn't care if Derek got angry at her.

Maverick's eyes widened as he felt his hands tremble. He slowly looked at Brianna, who was yelling at Derek like a mad woman. "It was said on the news that a pregnant woman was driving back home from her doctor's appointment, but a heartless and irresponsible driver hit the car so hard that it made pregnant driver drive off the road and hit a tree, killing her instantly."

Iris and the women were silent. Laura covered her lips in horror as she knew who Derek was speaking about. "Wh-What are you-?'

Derek chuckled as he pointed his gun at Brianna; he looked Maverick dead in the eye. "The person who killed your beautiful wife is right there. Iris is the sister of your wife's killer."
