Life has its own rules - a closed cycle never to be broken. Its content, by whatever name you call it, remains unchanged, except for some trivial details.

The cycle is strictly arranged, so is its schedule. Things, wanted or unwanted, have to be done at the right times. But more often than not, some things could only be completed at the wrong times. One wrong thing leads to many wrong ones. So begin sad stories, ironies, and tragedies.

And there is lateness in these stories of the selection:

-Without it, the younger brother (in My Sister) would never know that people's sacrifices do sometimes prove much greater than his, those sacrifices made by such people with a high sense of family and community relationships.

-Without it, the famous woman-dancer (in The Lonely Rose) wouldn't know that besides that desired reputation that any artiste wishes for, there is another desire that any woman wants fulfilled: that of being a mother;

-Without it, the little boy (in Looking For Dad) would never know that his father truly loves him so much and his father, Hai Hơn, wouldn't know his relatives had to suffer so much because of his bad temperament;

-Without it, the I - character ( in The Harmful Jacket) wouldn't know even charity doesn't work at times. What he gave the boybegger and his little brothers only caused them trouble;

- Without it, we wouldn't know that animals ( in The Thief) that we rank in a much lower class than we are do sometimes behave in a much more noble way than we do. They love  each other and members of other species truly, without any speculations;

-Without it, we wouldn't know that losses ( in Mom and Dad), even greatest losses, could be compensated for. Mannequins serve as real  relatives to the orphaned boy;

And more and more...

It's too late, all of it, after all.

But lateness doesn't mean that we cannot do anything about it, or benefit from it. Something can be done, not now at least, but for the generations to come. That may be called experience that the younger generations could gain without their experiencing it at their own cost. Is it likely that's what we, the older generation, can do to help. A "no" now will become a "yes" later and later...

If life if considered a school, then the lesson may be: believe in things that are hard to believe in.
