"I'm so proud of you!" Kai says with a big smile while hugging Paige. Kai's smile slowly drops, "you're all sweaty." She adds with a whisper. Paige rolls her eyes and picks the girl up bridal style. "And you still have the energy to pick me up after a full basketball game. I really need to work on my cardio." Paige laughs before setting the girl down.

"Come workout with me then," Paige suggests making Kai laugh. "I'm serious." Paige adds as they walk towards the visitor locker room to pack up and head back to the airport.

"No way, last time I ran a mile and timed it, it took me fifteen minutes to finish it." Kai tells her. Paige starts laughing and Kai groans, "stop it! It's embarrassing." Kai puts her face in her hands to hide her red cheeks.

"No it's not, it's quite adorable." Paige says, Kai not believing her one bit.

Paige and Kai walked into the locker room, the sound of their footsteps echoing off the empty benches. Kai began to pack up her camera equipment while Paige started to untie her sneakers.

As they worked, Paige glanced around, noticing they were alone. A sly smile spread across her face. She walked over to Kai, her eyes locked on hers.

Without a word, Paige leaned in, her lips brushing against Kai's in a soft, gentle kiss. Kai's eyes fluttered closed, her lips parting to deepen the kiss. Paige's hands cradled Kai's face, her thumbs tracing the curves of her cheeks.

Their lips moved in sync, the kiss growing more intense. Kai's hands wrapped around Paige's waist, pulling her closer. They stood there, lost in the moment, their hearts racing.

Finally, they broke apart, gasping for air. Kai's eyes sparkled with delight, her face flushed. But as she glanced towards the door, her expression turned worried. "Paige, wait, what if someone comes in?"

Paige's smile faltered, her eyes following Kai's gaze. For a moment, they just stood there, frozen, waiting to see if anyone would walk in. Then Paige shrugged, her voice barely above a whisper. "I guess we'll just have to take that risk."

Kai laughs before shoving the blonde, "no, we have to get ready to go. We have a flight to catch." Kai explains getting a pout from the blonde. Kai rolls her eyes and grabs Paige's chin, going in for a kiss before turning Paige's head to the side and giving a kiss to her cheek. "Pack." Kai says with a stern voice while pointing to Paige's stuff that was all over the place. Paige throws her head back with a groan but does as Kai says.

Kai and Paige finish packing up their things and head out to the bus, "finally!" KK says loudly seeing the two of them walk out of the arena. Kai gives her a deadpanned look making KK rush onto the bus.

Kai and Paige go to the back where they always sat, all the girls basically asleep, being tired from the game. Kai laughs as she sits down and fatigue doesn't hit her like it normally does. "I'm not tired." Kai says to Paige.

"Neither am I." She says, smiling at the girl.

The bus rumbled down the highway, the only sound the gentle hum of the engine and the soft snores of the girls. Paige and Kai sat together, their heads leaning against the window, gazing out into the darkness.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Paige said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kai turned to her, her eyes guarded. "What is it?"

"What was it like, growing up in your neighborhood?" Paige asked, her curiosity genuine.

Kai's gaze drifted back to the window, her voice cracking. "It was hell. I saw things no child should see. My dad was the worst, but he would always protect me."

Paige reached out, her fingers intertwining with Kai's.

"I got caught up in the drugs. I thought it was the only way to escape. But it just made things worse. I saw people overdose, people die."

Paige's voice was soft and gentle. "I'm so sorry, Kai. I had no idea."

Kai's tears soaked into Paige's shoulder. "I had to learn how to defend myself. I had to learn how to fight. I got clean, but...it's hard to forget."

Paige held her tight, her heart aching for the pain Kai had endured.

"I've never told anyone, Paige. I've never let anyone in. But you."

As they sat there, Kai's tears slowed, and she looked up at Paige. Their eyes met, and without a word, Paige leaned in, their lips meeting in a soft, gentle kiss.

"If you tell anyone, I'll kill you." Kai says as they break apart. Paige laughs before holding out her pinky.

"I pinky promise to never tell anyone." Paige tells her. Kai smiles and interlinks their pinkies together, bonding a promise between the two of them.

Paige inches off Kai's bed, trying not to wake the brunette that was sleeping soundly and peacefully. "Paige?"

Paige curses but looks at the once sleeping girl to see her awake, "sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." Kai groans.

"Where are you going?" Kai asks, wanting the blonde back in bed. Paige laughs at the girl.

"Class, I'm still a student." Paige explains with a goofy smile. Kai mentally facepalms, forgetting Paige was a student-athlete. "I'll be back in an hour."

"That's so long." Kai complains, "can't you just skip this time? Please!" Kai pleads. Paige shakes her head making Kai pout half playfully and half seriously. Paige rolls her eyes at the girl and heads to the bed, Kai smiles as she approaches.

Paige stops and bends down and gives Kai a soft kiss on the lips, "I'll be back." Kai's jaw tenses at the teasing made by the blonde.

"I'm mad at you." Kai deadpans before turning over dramatically in the bed. Paige scoffs and drops her stuff before kneeling on the bed.

"You can't be mad at me for going to class, that's not very nice of you." Paige taunts while hovering over Kai. Kai turns her head to look at Paige with a glare. "Go back to sleep."

Kai groans again before dropping the glare and giving a small nod. Paige smirks and picks her stuff up and heads out of the room to her class. Kai sighs as she grabs her phone.

"Kai, I have your chai!" Paige announces as she opens the door to the room. Paige doesn't get a response from the girl, making her concerned. Paige goes to say Kai's name, stopping when she sees her in the bed wearing a UConn basketball sweatshirt— Paige's sweatshirt.

"Kay," Paige whispers, shaking the brunette. Kai stirs awake, a smile on her face when she sees the blonde hair.

"You're back, how was class?" Kai asks, stretching her body out. Paige nods with a laugh before handing the drink to the girl who accepts it with no hesitation.

"Fine, boring. How was your nap?" Paige questions, taking her jacket off and crawling into the bed. Kai scoots over to make room for her.

"It wasn't a nap." Kai sasses as she takes a sip of her drink. Paige nods, not wanting to get into a playful argument with her. "But it was fine, I got cold and so I put your sweatshirt on and I fell asleep." Kai adds, offering a sip of her drink to Paige.

"No way, KK told me it was nasty." Paige says, pushing the drink away. Kai scoffs.

"You're trusting KK over me?" Kai pouts, ultimately making the blonde feel bad. Paige glares at the girl but takes the drink and has a sip of it.

"It's okay, I probably won't get it but it isn't bad." Paige tells her. Kai laughs.

"See, don't believe everything KK says!" Kai says proudly as she finishes her drink. Paige grabs the empty cup and throws it away for the girl. "Movie? It won't be scary this time." Kai promises, clasping her hands together in a pleading motion. Paige nods and takes off her sweatshirt, leaving her in a sports bra and grey sweatpants. "Tease." Kai whispers.

Paige smirks, "what was that?" Kai's face flushes before she clears her throat.

"Nothing." She replies before taking her sweatshirt— Paige's sweatshirt, off revealing a cropped tank top that barely covered her ribs. Paige groans lowly but shakes it off and makes Kai scoot over so she could get under the covers.

Paige and Kai snuggled up on Kai's bed, watching a rom-com on her tv. As the movie played, Paige's hands began to wander, tracing the curves of Kai's face, her fingers brushing against her cheekbones. Kai's eyes fluttered closed, a soft sigh escaping her lips.

"Hey, focus on the movie," Kai teased, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I am," Paige replied, her fingers drifting down to Kai's shoulders. "I'm just multitasking."

Kai's eyes opened, meeting Paige's gaze. For a moment, they just looked at each other, the tension between them palpable.

Paige's hands danced across Kai's skin, sending shivers down her spine. "Paige, what are you doing?" Kai asked, her voice husky.

"I'm exploring," Paige replied, her lips inches from Kai's.

Kai's eyes dropped to Paige's lips, her heart racing. "Explore some more," she whispered.

Without another word, Paige leaned in, her lips brushing against Kai's in a soft, gentle kiss. Kai's arms wrapped around Paige, deepening the kiss.

"Kai!" KK's loud voice from the hall forces them apart. Paige groans trying to get Kai's attention.

"Just ignore her," she says as she starts placing kisses on Kai's face. Kai giggled but had to push the blonde away.

"What if it's important?" Kai asks while getting out of bed. Paige rolls her eyes before throwing a sweatshirt at Kai. "Bossy." Kai said but put the sweatshirt on and opens her door to see KK with packages in her hands. "What in the world?"

KK doesn't say anything as she pushes her way into Kai's dorm room. "Haul time!" KK yells while setting up her phone to go live. Kai gives a look to Paige, she was still in her sports bra. Paige laughs before slyly grabbing a shirt from the floor and throwing it on. Kai sits next to KK as the live starts and comments come rolling in. "Hey girly pops, I'm here with Miss Kai. Everyone's favorite." KK says introducing the live to Kai.

Kai laughs at the dramatics of KK, "I think they know who I am." KK gives her a side eye before grabbing a box to open. KK looks around trying to find scissors or something to open the box.

"Where are the scissors?" She finally questions not being able to find them.

"It's right there!" Kai speaks while pointing to the scissors that were right next to her phone. KK whispers something under her breath before grabbing the scissors to open the box. KK opens the box revealing some clothing from some brand Kai didn't know of. "This is boring." Kai confesses, "most boring live you've ever had." She adds.

KK gasps and pulls out a bottle of silly string from nowhere and sprays Kai in the face. Kai lightly shrieks, trying to rub off the string. The string ends up getting stuck to her hands, "you are so dead, Kamorea Arnold!" KK's eyes widen in fear before getting up and running from the brunette who had silly string on her hands.

Finally, Kai managed to grab KK's arm but KK used this as an opportunity to spray more silly string in the brunettes face. Kai stumbles back, cursing, "damn it, KK!"

Paige laughs as she watches the two of them go back and forth, "P, help meee." Kai begs knowing that the blonde would help her. Paige smirks before getting out of the bed and standing behind Kai like a bodyguard. KK rolls her eyes before raising her hands up in surrender. Kai smirks, "ha!"

"Alright, girly pops. I have homework to do and I bet Paige has some too, so byeeee." KK says before ending the live and leaving without saying anything, leaving all of her trash and shit there. Kai rolls her eyes, opting to deal with it later.

Kai turns to face Paige, giving her a cheeky smile. "Thanks for helping me against that awful silly string attack."

Paige nods with a smile. "Anytime,"

Kai laughs before grabbing Paige's hand and dragging her to the bed to finish the movie that they had started. They weren't going to be paying much attention to it anyways.
