Do you recognize the phone number?

Both marketers and scam calls try to sweet talk you and confirm information that they found out. Be careful what you say on the internet! They'll continue to bother you if you give in.

Block, delete or report them. If it persists, find a way to record the texts or calls, so you'll have proof to solve it.

They'll use words like urgent, survey, or Canada post, door dash order code, lottery or debt. Pause and think. Did you apply for any of them? Or do the companies they pretend to be, actually call? You can try to differentiate by formality and grammar. They'll go with a horrible excuse and get straight to you sending money. If not, then don't give away info!

They'll even pretend to be a loved one!

Don't just block, but get apps to protect your privacy. This is how they start.

So many people, especially elderly people have gotten scammed out of thousands of dollars.

If you have to change numbers to be sure, then do it!
