Where is Beyond The Barrier set?

It's set in Southern California. The Compound is actually a Costco.

Where did the idea come from?

It's kind of random. It happened during a trip through Costco and my sister mentioned how Costco would be the best place to be during the zombie apocalypse. (Yes, my family is odd.) Of course that lead to setting a story in Costco. It started out with a girl who worked in the bakery falling for a boy who worked in the pharmacy and morphed from there.

Will there be a sequel?

This is a no. Sorry. The story started out as a joke. My sister original wanted to write it and I helped give ideas for how it could go. When she decided not to write it I picked it up because I needed something to write and had pretty much come up with the whole outline. So I wrote it, not thinking it would actually come to anything.

Who did I base characters on?

Louie is actually kind of based on my sister because she is so awesome and has this command that I have yet to master.
Peyton is just the type zombie killing guy.
Chief is based on a worker at Costco that is super chill, and Steve McGarret from Hawaii 5-O.
Marc is based on Boggs from the Hunger Games movies, because he is awesome!

If I was to write a sequel, what would happen?

Louie and Peyton would find his parents. Take down Crawlers. At one point be separated so then they would have to find each other again. (Which you know would be epic) Fight more Crawlers and safe hundreds of lives. Then an epilogue where they die after taking down the final group of Crawlers, ridding the world of them.
