I had left the hotel to the police department with Kelly, Gustavo... almost everyone.

James went missing.

"Please help us." Mrs Knight pleaded to the officer.

"Yeah we need James back!" Gustavo butts in.

"Sorry ma'am, sir..."

And let me go back to what happened first.

Earlier

"Babe help me!!" James' voice said in a panic.

"What's the matter?!" I said in a worried tone.

"Babe?!" A voice said in the background.

"James!!" I cried out.

Footsteps can be heard.

"Please help me...! This girl is–"

"Oh, you called that ugly girl from earlier."

"HEY! MELODY IS NOT UGLY!" James yelled.

"Where are you keeping my–"

The girl snatched the phone.

"Stay away from my James! He's mine and always mine! Now if you excuse me, I'm getting myself dolled up for my date with my jamey poo." The girl said.

"Like I'd ever date you! I love–"

The girl slaps James.

"WHERE ARE YOU KEEPING–"

Without finishing my sentence, the call was dropped.

Present

After getting out, the boys were trying to find ways to find James. It's my fault. I should've had left and stayed...

"Melody?" Kendall says as I looked at him.

"Will you help us?"

Tears were on my eyes.

"She can't!"

"Why not Gustavo?"

I read Gustavo's mind.

"Because... someone has to stay back to entertain the fans." I said.

"We'll have the damage control ready."

The boys reluctantly nod as I passed them my phone.

"Here. I don't know if it'll help but I have the number down." I said to them.

The boys again nod before I followed Kelly, Gustavo, and the knights.

Back at the concert...

Fans were pouring in already and I saw Griffin and his team with Gustavo and Kelly looking at me anxiously. I can't believe Gustavo is letting me do this... but only to buy the boys some time. And James isn't here to see this. See me up here about to perform.

The makeup artist just finished my makeup and Kelly looked at me, giving me a "let's go," kind of look. I nervously nod as I went on stage with fans chanting Big Time Rush.

But when I got up there, they went really quiet,
"Uh... hi." I shyly said to the fans before I cleared my throat.

"I know that you're wanting big time rush but there's been a change of plans. BUT before you boo and leave... I want to sing a song. A song that we're all familiar to."

The fans were still silent, watching me dance and sing intensely.

Slowly, fans began to sing along.

"The phone rings, in the middle of the night
My father yells "What you gonna do with your life?"

Then more and more began to cheer and sing along... so far so good.

But please hurry, boys... I know this all I can do... but I can't please your fans any longer.

James

It felt like hours since I have contacted Melody. She's all I ever think about...

Yes including my buds too.

"How do I look, James?" The girl asked me.

I didn't say anything, purposely ignoring her.

"James!! Answer me!!" The girl yells.

Once again, ignored her. She broke my phone so I couldn't contact Melody nor anyone. She made an annoyed sigh.

"What do you see in her? She's using you for the fame. She doesn't love you."

That made me more angrier.

"That's not true! I love Melody with all my heart and she loves me for who I am! She didn't fall for me because of my looks and fame. She got to saw the real me that you'll never see!" I yelled at her.

The girl didn't put up a fight, just didn't say anything.

"I..." she only could say.

"Don't you ever talk bad about my girlfriend ever again. You don't even know her. How can you judge someone that's so kind, caring, nice, sweet..." I went on.

The girl was defiantly shocked. I looked back down at myself, continuing to think about everyone. I really hope I can get out of here and be with my Melody again...

Creak!

The sound of a door opening opening quickly. All I can see is cops and three shadows.

Melody

The fans were starting to get antsy and no matter how much I keep them entertained, it only worked the first half.

Where are they? Where is James?!

"Ladies and gentlemen!" A voice said as it startled me.

Fans were silent and...

I saw each and one of the boys with James... alive!!!

"We're sorry for the delay!" Carlos said.

"We hope you enjoyed Melody's opening act!" Logan says.

I can see the glimmer in James' eyes as he didn't stop staring at me.

"James!" Kendall called out as James snapped back to reality.

"Before we begin! I need to say one more thing."

James approached me giving me a quick peck on the cheek.

"This girl is an upcoming singer and my girlfriend.... so let's give her a round of applause."

Everyone was cheering. But my eyes didn't leave James. I felt like I was the only girl on stage with him. I smiled before blowing him a quick kiss and went backstage.

Later...

After concert, we all went back to the hotel. Most of the others went to sleep in their rooms while it was just James in Kelly and I's hotel room having hot coca.

We didn't say much only on and off kissing.

"James..." I said his name while looking at my hot coca.

"Yeah, babe?"

"...I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For not being there with the guys during the rescue."

He puts down the mug before giving me a serious look.

"You don't need to apologize. I understand that you wanted to keep the fans entertained." He said with a serious look.

"But I feel bad... I wanted to help but... I was scared what would that girl do to me." I admit looking away.

James approached me before I felt his thumb on my cheek.

"Melody... please." He begged.

I looked at him.

"I would protect you."

I didn't say anything before leaning into James and he puts his arms around me.

"I am so glad you're safe though..."

"I'm glad that I'm safe back with you." James flirtatiously admits.

"Come on James.-"

"What? I couldn't stop thinking about you." He said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Go back and sleep with Carlos."

"Come onnnnn I wanna cuddle."

"Gustavo is already strict enough now gooooooo." I said as I pushed him out of the hotel room.

And right on cue: Kelly comes back.

Kelly gave us some space to be alone for a bit.

"Melody can I speak with you?" She asked me as I nod and we sat in our beds.

"What's up?"

"So... I got out of a meeting with Gustavo and Griffin."

"And?"

"Although he hates surprises, he was impressed from your concert while boys went to rescue James."

It wasn't planned but... Someone had to stay back to help.

"And what does this mean?"

"Well... you're not exactly doing an opening show but... he definitely wants you to sing some songs with the boys." She paused, "seeing how you all get along very well."

I excitedly smiled.

"That is amazing!" I squeaked.

"But this is only between us. We'll tell them tomorrow."

I nod as I went to the window.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Oh no... I'm just thinking how far I came from here. From a small town girl from Virginia to almost being a singer..." I paused. "Gonna sing with the band I idolized since day one." I continued as I was teary eyed.

Kelly made an soft "aww," before she opens her arms, wanting to hug, I took her hug, smiling.

"Anyways we should get some sleep we have another one tomorrow." Kelly reminds as I nod and we went to our own beds.
