The kids watch me as I pull some paper and hand them to them.

"Okay kids take notes this is the house rules. First, you can't try to leave. That will be punishable by Wally. Trust me you don't want to be punished by Wally." The girl Babs raises her hand.

"Yes, Babs?" I stare at her not really too sure what she could be questioning at this point.

"What are the punishments he'll give us?" I can't answer that. I know how I am punished but not how he'll punish our kids.

"I do not know. The punishment for me is much different than what he'll do for you. But I guarantee you will be better off following the rules. Think of it as waiting for rescue. We are playing the long game. We are surviving." Babs nods but Jason stares at me angrily

"I don't want to play the long game! I have a family to go back to! My mom won't survive without me to bring her meds!" I look at him and go pale. I wasn't expecting that. Okay, time to take another look at the situation.

"Okay, that changes things. But we still don't have a way out and being good is our best way to gain privileges which will aid in our escape. I'm going to start on an escape plan immediately but for now, we need to be good. It's our best shot at finding a way to escape. I'm going to do everything I can to get you out, Jason. Even if you leave us behind I will get you back to your sick mom. We have two weeks to brainstorm and try to pick that lock. Let's get  to work."

I lead them to my sewing room and we start to look at the tools we have that could pick the lock and disable the electronic lock.
