Blue Fitzgerald only really cared about being the best.

She was competitive in just about everything, it was just in her nature. It was what her family had believed in for decades now. After all, the Fitzgerald family hadn't become very prominent for no reason whatsoever. Blue's father was a part of the Ministry of Magic and her aunt worked with the news to bring important issues to light. Including the growing tension in the Wizarding community and the possibility of a war. Blue wanted to be just as important and meaningful as them. So that meant she couldn't waste time playing around.

James Potter only cared about living his life to the fullest. And love, of course.

Maybe it was partly due to his wealth but James didn't really have to worry about consequences. Life had always been fairly easy for him. He liked to have fun, whether that be in the form of parties or even outlandish pranks that he and his mates would come up with. He also had a habit of falling in love rather quickly - his latest crush (one that had lasted nearly five years) ending up with Lily Evans falling for someone else. Or rather, another girl. Although James is happy for her, he's still waiting to find his own true love now that sixth year's rolled around.

Neither Blue or James expect to find that in each other.

But when a prank goes wrong and James gets hurt, Blue helps to fix him up. And as expected, James falls head over heels for the beautiful yet mean angel who managed to save him. Much to Blue's chagrin, James starts following her around and finding every excuse in the book for them to hang out together. Blue isn't the slightest bit interested, but James wasn't about to give up.

And over time, the annoying bloke actually begins to grow on her.
